This position is based out of our of Somerset, PA office.
Your Responsibilities as a Survey Technician:
- Perform topography, construction stakeout, as built, and control surveys using conventional and GPS survey methods
- Perform aerial mapping surveys using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and have a general understanding of UAV technology
- Proficient with Carlson and Trimble GPS systems
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of construction drawings.
- Have a solid understanding of CAD/Carlson software
- Document field observations and prepare daily field reports
- Perform office computations for stakeout
- Observe safe work practices
What we're looking for:
- GED or High School Diploma, Associates Degree preferred.
- 3+ years of survey experience required
- Ability to work with design engineers, clients, contractors, and the general public
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Experience with different surveys and survey equipment.
- Able to perform manual labor, able to carry 50+ pounds of equipment, walk across varying terrain, etc.
- Valid drivers license and good driving record.
- Thorough understanding of safe work practices in accordance with OSHA regulations
