POSITION SUMMARY
The MScPH Program Office within the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student Research Assistant to support a project examining the newly released Core Competencies for Public Health in Canada. The successful candidate will conduct a systematic analysis of the competencies and assist with mapping the MScPH program research and training components against the new framework.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a graduate student to develop skills in competency mapping, qualitative analysis, and educational program evaluation while working closely with the MScPH Program Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in a research project examining the alignment of the MScPH curriculum with the new Core Competencies for Public Health in Canada.
Participate in the preparation of research documentation, including the development of a competency-matching rubric.
Assist with the compilation and organization of research data by creating and populating a spreadsheet-based mapping matrix.
Assist with the analysis and interpretation of competency framework and curriculum data to identify areas of alignment and gaps.
Participate in regular meetings with the MScPH Program Director and contribute to project updates and discussions.
Perform various administrative and project-related tasks in support of the research initiative.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current McGill graduate student.
Experience with research projects, program evaluation, curriculum review, or competency-based education.
Experience organizing and analyzing qualitative information.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other productivity software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Completion of the first year of MScPH coursework is an asset.
