In this role, you will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies and tender processes across a range of property-related categories, including facilities management, maintenance services, capital development projects, construction-related services, and panel arrangements. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver procurement outcomes that balance cost, quality, risk, sustainability and service performance.

You will also contribute to the ongoing management and optimisation of supplier panels, supporting vendor governance activities, supplier performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working collaboratively with Category Managers and Vendor Managers, you will help ensure supplier relationships are aligned with broader category strategies and organisational objectives. Your ability to influence stakeholders, manage complex sourcing projects, and negotiate favourable commercial outcomes will be critical to your success. Based at our Melbourne City campus, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the University's property and infrastructure procurement outcomes.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Proven capability in developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing end-to-end tender processes, conducting supplier evaluations, and leading commercial negotiations that deliver measurable value.

  • Experience managing supplier panels and vendor relationships, including supplier governance, performance management, contract compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse business functions and senior leadership groups.

  • A sound understanding of sustainable procurement principles, including the application of life cycle costing, environmental and social procurement considerations, and responsible sourcing practices.

  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, procurement systems, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Strong commercial acumen, including contract development, contract negotiation, and an understanding of the commercial implications of key legal and risk management provisions.

  • The ability to manage multiple sourcing projects concurrently while maintaining high standards of governance, compliance and stakeholder satisfaction.
