About the Role:
As the Senior Manager, Strategic Procurement, you will lead the procurement function supporting CDC's industry-leading data centre developments across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will provide strategic leadership across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, ensuring the successful engagement of suppliers, contractors and long-lead equipment vendors critical to project delivery. Working closely with Engineering, Delivery, Finance, Legal and Commercial teams, you will drive procurement strategy, governance, and supplier performance, while leading a team of category-focused procurement specialists responsible for supporting some of CDC's most significant capital investments.
- Lead and develop a team of category specialists across electrical, mechanical, and other key procurement categories.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that support CDC's development pipeline and long-term business objectives.
- Oversee complex sourcing, tendering, evaluation and negotiation activities across major capital projects.
- Establish and continuously improve procurement governance, processes, reporting and performance frameworks.
- Partner with project, engineering and commercial teams to ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and budgets.
- Drive supplier performance, capacity planning and risk management to support successful project delivery.
- Provide commercial leadership and recommendations to senior stakeholders on critical procurement decisions.

About You:
You are an experienced procurement and commercial leader who thrives in complex project environments. Combining strong commercial acumen with a collaborative leadership style, you have a track record of building high-performing teams, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering strategic procurement outcomes. You excel at balancing commercial, technical and delivery priorities, and enjoy creating structure, governance and long-term supplier partnerships that enable business growth.
- Significant experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, or commercial management within construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities, data centres, or major capital projects.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing procurement, commercial or project teams.
- Strong expertise in procurement planning, tendering, supplier negotiations and commercial governance.
- The ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across technical, operational and executive functions.
- Experience in managing high-value supplier relationships and driving supplier performance outcomes.
- A strategic mindset with strong analytical, planning and problem-solving capabilities.
Essential:
Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
