Position Summary
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our IT team within the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will have experience in performance testing and engineering and will help improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our applications and systems. This role requires strong technical skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively across development, quality engineering, and operations teams.
Job Responsabilities
Support the adoption and evolution of performance engineering practices across applications and teams.
Design, develop, and execute performance tests to identify bottlenecks and performance risks.
Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to incorporate performance testing and analysis throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Analyze test results and provide recommendations to improve application scalability, stability, and performance.
Develop and maintain performance testing scripts using industry-standard tools.
Monitor application performance and assist in identifying and resolving performance issues.
Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and root cause analysis activities.
Contribute to the documentation of performance testing processes, standards, and best practices.
Stay current with performance engineering trends, tools, and technologies.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of engineering experience, including performance testing or performance engineering.
3+ years of experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, or similar.
2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
2+ years of experience with programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic, Grafana, or similar.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Understanding of application architecture, databases, APIs, and network fundamentals.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare IT or familiarity with healthcare applications and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Experience supporting performance testing initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
Familiarity with modern performance engineering concepts, including observability and shift-left testing practices.
Ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$72,100.00 - $144,200.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
