Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor – Civil to be deployed full-time at the project site. The candidate will be responsible for quantity surveying, cost management, commercial administration, contractor billing, variations, claims and cost control for civil works.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end Quantity Surveying and commercial activities for civil works at the project site.
- Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take-offs, estimates and cost plans based on drawings and specifications.
- Review project drawings, specifications and scope to identify quantity and cost implications.
- Verify contractor measurements, RA bills and interim payment applications.
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify cost variances.
- Evaluate and manage variations, change orders and additional works.
- Review contractor quotations and undertake rate analysis and commercial evaluation.
- Support preparation, evaluation and negotiation of contractor claims.
- Maintain project-level cost reports, quantity records and commercial trackers.
- Assist in tendering, procurement and evaluation of civil work packages.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Client, Consultants, Contractors and Design Teams on commercial matters.
- Ensure proper documentation and records for measurements, payments, variations and claims.
- Support final account preparation and settlement with contractors.
- Provide commercial inputs to project management and highlight potential cost and contractual risks.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management.
- Strong experience in civil construction, infrastructure, buildings or data centre projects.
- Proven experience in site-based quantity surveying and contractor management.
- Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, rate analysis, billing and cost control.
- Experience in handling variations, claims and contract administration.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and contractual documents.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and quantity surveying / estimation tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Data Centre / Industrial / Commercial / Infrastructure projects will be preferred.
- Exposure to EPC / PMC / Consultancy environments.
- Knowledge of FIDIC / GCC / relevant Indian construction contracts.
- Strong commercial negotiation and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced site environment.
