ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer who is architecturally strong, quality-driven, and AI-native to join our Mobile Engineering team. The best candidate will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and exceptionally dynamic setting and is excited to own iOS architecture decisions, ship polished Swift applications, and set the standard for how AI accelerates engineering at Xsolla.
Deep expertise in modern Swift is essential - SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency (async/await, actors, structured concurrency), and the Apple platform frameworks - along with a proven track record of shipping commercial applications to the App Store from concept to launch. The ability to design scalable architectures, implement robust testing strategies, profile and optimize launch time, scroll performance, memory, and battery, and mentor other engineers while collaborating across cross-functional teams will be key to your success in this role.
We build AI-first. We expect you to work fluently with AI coding agents as a daily multiplier - scoping work for them, reviewing what they produce with a critical eye, and building the internal tooling, context, and evaluation habits that make the whole team faster.
If you’re passionate about building high-quality iOS experiences that scale, and love shipping apps that power gaming, virtual currency, and digital commerce experiences, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain our native iOS application in Swift and SwiftUI, used by players and developers worldwide.
Deliver high-quality features on time throughout the development lifecycle, from technical design through release and post-launch iteration.
Own the full iOS release process: code signing, provisioning, TestFlight distribution, App Store review and submission, phased rollouts, and crash triage.
Implement best practices for iOS development, including code review, automated testing strategies, and CI/CD with Xcode Cloud, Fastlane, or equivalent.
Integrate mini-apps, payments, and virtual currency systems into the Xsolla App ecosystem.
Collaborate with product and design teams to turn business goals into experiences that feel genuinely native.
Work with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, QA engineers, and project managers, and communicate effectively across distributed, multi-timezone teams.
Participate in technical discussions to align development work with business objectives.
Architecture & Design:
Design and implement scalable application architecture for iOS with a focus on maintainability, performance, and developer experience.
Lead architectural decisions around modularization, dependency injection, navigation, and state management (MVVM, TCA, or Observation-based approaches).
Configure and optimize the Xcode build graph, Swift Package Manager dependencies, and modular targets for fast, incremental builds.
Build and maintain an internal SwiftUI component library and design system implementation.
Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across the mobile development team.
Create technical specifications and architecture documentation for complex features and systems.
Partner with the Android and React Native engineers to keep shared API contracts, design tokens, feature flags, and analytics schemas coherent across the app family -without flattening the platform into a lowest common denominator.
Drive observability for mobile: structured logging, crash monitoring, performance tracing, and release health dashboards.
AI-First Engineering:
Use AI coding agents and assistants as a core part of your daily workflow, and raise the bar for how the team prompts, reviews, and verifies AI-generated code.
Build and maintain the context that makes agents effective in our codebase: project rules, tool integrations, reproducible dev environments, and automated checks that catch what review misses.
Prototype and ship AI-powered product features using Core ML, the Foundation Models framework, and server-side LLMs - with a clear eye on latency, cost, privacy, and offline behavior.
Design evaluation and guardrails for AI features, including prompt regression testing, fallback behavior, and handling of model failure modes in production.
Share what works: mentor engineers on AI-assisted development and help set practical, quality-preserving standards for the organization.
Qualifications & Skills:
5+ years of professional iOS development experience, with deep, hands-on expertise in Swift.
Proven track record of shipping commercial iOS applications, with apps you built currently live in the App Store.
Strong command of modern Apple frameworks and idioms: SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency, Combine, UIKit interop, and the Observation framework.
Strong understanding of iOS architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, unidirectional data flow), dependency injection, and state management.
Experience with automated testing on iOS - XCTest, Swift Testing, snapshot and UI tests - and with CI/CD for iOS release pipelines.
Solid grasp of performance, memory, and energy profiling using Instruments.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven, daily use of AI coding agents and AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate real production work - scoping tasks for agents, critically reviewing AI-generated code, and measurably increasing your own and your team’s velocity.
Experience with third-party integrations, REST/GraphQL APIs, and mobile SDK consumption.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven approach.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Nice to Have:
Experience with widgets, App Intents, Live Activities, push notifications, or deep linking at scale.
Experience bridging Swift modules into React Native, or with Kotlin Multiplatform on the iOS side.
Familiarity with StoreKit 2 and Apple’s in-app purchase and external purchase link entitlements.
Familiarity with gaming ecosystems, virtual currency platforms, in-app purchases, or alternative payment and digital commerce flows.
Experience with mobile security practices: secure storage, certificate pinning, obfuscation, and fraud prevention.
Contributions to open source, technical writing, or conference talks in the mobile or AI engineering space.
