For over 35 years, ICMP has been at the forefront of contemporary music education, offering personalised, industry-focused training to help students thrive in the competitive music industry. ICMP delivers innovative undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including specialisations in Electronic Music Production, Live Event Management, and Music Marketing. 

The Opportunity

The School of Audio & Music Production is seeking to appoint experienced and industry-active educators to join our academic teams in Leeds and Liverpool as Senior Lecturers. 

These roles have been created as part of ICMP's Academic Leadership Model and are designed to provide greater academic stability and leadership support at campus level. Working closely with Academic Managers and Programme Leaders, Senior Lecturers will contribute to high-quality teaching, support student success, and help coordinate the day-to-day delivery of programmes within the School. 

The successful candidates will combine teaching excellence, subject expertise and academic leadership to enhance the student experience, support student retention and contribute to the continued development of our Audio & Music Production provision. 

The Role

Senior Lecturers contribute across five core areas of academic activity: 

Teaching 

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. 
  • Create inclusive and industry-informed learning experiences. 
  • Support student achievement through effective teaching and assessment practices. 
  • Teach across Audio & Music Production modules aligned to your area of expertise. 

Module Leadership 

  • Lead designated modules and coordinate teaching activity where required. 
  • Develop module content, learning activities and learning resources. 
  • Support consistency and quality across programme delivery. 
  • Contribute to curriculum enhancement and periodic review activities. 

Assessment 

  • Design, deliver and review assessments. 
  • Mark and moderate student work in accordance with institutional policies. 
  • Provide timely, constructive and developmental feedback.
  • Support progression boards and quality assurance processes. 

Student Support 

  • Provide academic guidance and support to students. 
  • Support student engagement, progression and retention initiatives. 
  • Work collaboratively with Student Services, Academic Managers and Programme Leaders. 
  • Contribute positively to the wider student experience. 

Academic Leadership 

  • Support Academic Managers and Programme Leaders with programme administration and delivery. 
  • Provide assessment support and academic coordination. 
  • Line manage and mentor an agreed allocation of lecturers, where required. 
  • Attend programme meetings and contribute to quality enhancement activities. 
  • Support student recruitment activities including Open Days and Applicant Events. 
  • Contribute to wider School and institutional projects. 

Working Pattern and Remuneration 

These roles may be appointed on either a fractional contract or an hourly paid basis. 

Work allocation will be agreed in line with the Academic Workload Tariff and may include a combination of: 

  • Teaching 
  • Module leadership 
  • Assessment and moderation 
  • Meetings and administration 
  • Student support and pastoral activities 
  • Tutor line management responsibilities 
  • Recruitment and outreach activities 

The precise allocation of duties and hours will vary depending on cohort sizes, programme requirements, module leadership responsibilities and any associated academic management duties.
