What is the opportunity?

The Senior IT Operations Analyst is responsible for monitoring and supporting RBC's global network environment on a 24/7/365 basis while leveraging artificial intelligence capabilities and executing disaster recovery procedures. As a member of the Technology Operations & Resiliency Network Operations Centre - NOC, the Senior IT Operations Analyst will be accountable for proactive incident detection, rapid response, service restoration, and effective disaster recovery Infrastructure recovery execution across all network technology platforms. This role requires knowledge in AI-driven monitoring platforms and the ability to maintain business continuity during critical infrastructure failures and testing. The Senior IT Operations Analyst will work effectively in both independent and team-oriented environments with heightened technical responsibility.

What will you do?

  • Proactively detect, investigate, diagnose, and resolve network incidents across production infrastructure, utilizing AI-powered anomaly detection and predictive analytics to anticipate and prevent outages before they impact business operations.
  • Rapid Response, Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance using RBC’s Event and Incident applications suite of tools: Which include ServiceNow, Spectrum, Moogsoft, PagerDuty, NetworkView, and NetOps platforms, with advanced proficiency in AI-enabled monitoring tools for real-time threat detection and automated root cause analysis.
  • Execute and validate Disaster Recovery Infrastructure (DR) runbooks during critical incidents and schedule DR exercises, ensuring rapid failover procedures, backup system activation, and recovery & validation status tasks completion.
  • Lead DR infrastructure testing and validation, including failover drills, and recovery procedure optimization to ensure RBC can maintain service continuity during catastrophic failures.
  • Coordinate with IT support teams and Disaster Recovery teams to develop, document, test, and continuously improve Datacentre runbooks and recovery procedures.
  • Implement AI-driven automation for routine operational tasks, incident triage, and ticket categorization to increase NOC efficiency and reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR).
  • Analyze AI-generated alerts and recommendations to distinguish between genuine threats and false positives, continuously training Machine Learning (ML) models to improve detection accuracy.
  • Mentor junior team members on Enterprise network and Infrastructure procedures, best practices, AI tool usage, DR procedures, and emerging technologies to build organizational capability.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate degree/diploma preferably in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • Cisco Associate or Professional level certification on networking
  • AI/ML fundamentals certification (e.g., Google Cloud AI, AWS AI Practitioner, or equivalent)
  • Programming languages, including AI knowledge
  • 1-2 years in IT operations, systems administration, or incident management
  • Understanding Network based technologies and processes: Cisco suite of products including Cisco SD-WAN, Switches, Firewalls, and F5 Load Balancers
  • Knowledge of Data, Voice and Wireless network technologies including associated hardware technologies
  • Advanced networking concepts: VxLAN/VPLS/EVPN, DWDM concepts, F5 and Load Balance concepts (suspend/activate services)
  • Scripting and automation experience (expand to include Python/AI workflows)
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts for IT operations (anomaly detection, predictive analytics, alert correlation)
  • Datacentre Infrastructure platforms and technologies knowledge
  • Experience with Silver Peak SD-WAN technologies (configuration, management, troubleshooting)
  • Basic understanding of ATM platforms and setups (communication problems, modems, switches)
  • Hands-on expertise with SD-WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. ServiceNow, Spectrum, Moogsoft, Jira, PagerDuty, NetworkView and NetOps
  • Strong communication and ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, from technical specialists to senior managers.
  • Demonstrated experience executing and validating Datacentre disaster recovery runbooks in production environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Fault, Incident, Problem and Change management
  • Understanding of business continuity planning
  • In-depth technical understanding across various hardware and software platforms: Cisco IOS, Aruba Wireless,
  • Knowledge of MCP Servers, AI and ML models
