How you will create an impact
The Senior Enterprise Risk Advisory Partner will support the delivery of AIG’s Line 2 Enterprise Risk Management activities across the Pacific region, providing senior risk advice, constructive challenge and practical execution support to business and functional stakeholders. The role will help strengthen risk awareness, governance discipline and risk-based decision-making across the region in line with AIG’s frameworks, risk appetite, governance expectations and applicable regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk Advisory, Pacific, this role will help embed consistent risk advisory practices, strengthen governance disciplines, and support the execution and monitoring of key risk activities across the Pacific business. The role requires the confidence and judgement to influence senior stakeholders, connect global AIG risk expectations with local business needs, and provide informed risk insight in a regulated insurance environment.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential for extension, subject to business requirements.
Key accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:
Provide senior Line 2 enterprise risk advisory support across the Pacific business, offering practical risk advice, constructive challenge and support to business and functional stakeholders.
Provide senior risk advisory support across the Pacific business, helping stakeholders interpret and apply AIG’s risk frameworks, policies, standards, controls expectations and risk appetite.
Support the execution of key enterprise risk management activities, including risk and control assessments, issue and event management, control environment insights, governance inputs and risk reporting.
Monitor the risk profile, emerging risks, issues, actions and control themes across relevant portfolios, escalating matters where required and supporting timely closure of agreed remediation activities.
Partner with stakeholders to strengthen risk ownership, improve execution discipline and support effective risk-based decision-making across the Pacific business.
Prepare clear, concise and insightful risk updates, papers and materials for senior management, governance forums and relevant committees.
Support the ongoing uplift of ERM processes, tools and reporting to improve risk transparency, accountability and consistency across the Pacific region.
Contribute to regulatory, audit and assurance-related activities by providing risk insights, evidence and support for management responses where required.
What you’ll need to succeed
Strong experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, governance, assurance, regulatory or other related risk disciplines within general insurance.
Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted senior risk business partner, including providing constructive challenge, influencing stakeholders and supporting practical risk-based decision-making.
Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, risk appetite, issue and event management, controls, governance processes and management reporting.
Experience supporting regulated general insurance businesses, with knowledge of prudential, conduct and governance expectations across Pacific markets..
Ability to provide practical, commercially aware risk advice while maintaining appropriate Line 2 independence, judgement and escalation discipline.
Strong execution discipline, with the ability to manage competing priorities, track actions, follow through on deliverables and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and judgement skills, including the ability to identify themes, assess risk implications and translate complex information into clear insights for senior stakeholders.
Collaborative, structured, and delivery-focused, with high integrity, sound judgement and comfort operating across local, regional and global stakeholder groups.
