Job Description & Summary

As part of the team, you will assess the reasonableness of valuations and financial models, primarily in the context of financial reporting and assurance-related engagements, both in Mauritius and internationally. You may also participate in valuation projects for transaction purposes. Your responsibilities will include researching the company being valued, understanding the sector it operates in, evaluating its financial and commercial risks, conducting forecast analysis, and developing financial models that support the team in providing fair and accurate valuations and valuation reviews.

The role

We are seeking someone to support our valuation teams in all aspects of reporting, research, and the development of financial models for valuations and valuation reviews.

Responsibilities

• Perform valuation analysis and assist with the drafting of valuation reports for financial reporting requirements;
• Report internally and externally in meetings;
• Use feedback and reflection to develop self awareness, personal strengths and address development areas;
• Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems;
• Seek and embrace opportunities which give exposure to different situations, environments and perspectives;
• Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others;
• Able to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality relationships;
• Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
   

Experience and Qualifications

• University degree
• Working towards relevant industry qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, or Masters in Finance;
• At least 1 year of experience at the Senior Associate level in Assurance valuation reviews at a professional services firm, or at least 2 years of experience in a Transactions, Financial Advisory, or Investment role at a professional services firm, boutique advisory firm, corporate banking arm of a regional or global bank, asset management firm, investment fund, or within a corporate M&A/Business Development team.
