Business Overview

Our mission is to plan and execute campaigns and services that leverage the "Rakuten Mobile" communication service as a foundation, in synergy with over 70 diverse services within the Rakuten Group (such as Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuten Travel, Rakuten Card, Rakuten Payment, etc.). Through these efforts, we aim to acquire new customers, enhance the appeal of each service, and promote their usage.

Department Overview

The Project Management Section, which is currently hiring for this position, is responsible for leading projects from end to end-starting from conceptualizing campaigns and services using the "Rakuten Mobile" communication service, to proposing them to other business units, building operations, and managing promotions and performance measurement. As there are as many needs as there are business units, you will be involved from the planning stage to address those needs. We provide thorough training for those who are unfamiliar with the telecommunications industry or MVNOs, ensuring an environment where even those without prior experience can succeed.

Position Details

- Planning and evaluation of new initiatives

Based on market and competitor research, we evaluate campaigns utilizing "Rakuten Mobile" lines. Following these evaluations, we conduct hearings with relevant business units, draft proposals, and present them to Rakuten Mobile senior management and various business departments.

- Coordination and consensus building with business units

We collaborate with various business units within the Rakuten Group to build optimal campaign schemes in partnership with Rakuten Mobile. We align the strategies and needs of both parties to reach a consensus for campaign implementation.

- Reporting to management and senior leadership

We regularly report the progress and challenges of initiatives to the management team. We organize KPI achievement status and return on investment (ROI), providing insights and improvement suggestions necessary for decision-making.

- Promotion of operation construction

We design operations to realize initiatives agreed upon with business units and drive their construction. We also hold regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders to manage progress toward initiative launches.

- Performance measurement of initiatives

We quantitatively measure the results of implemented campaigns and analyze customer behavior by linking it with Rakuten membership information. We clarify success factors and areas for improvement, reflecting them in future planning and service quality enhancement.

- Other responsibilities

Beyond the above, you will plan and execute initiatives such as introducing AI tools in collaboration with the internal AI development department, improving UI/UX as a cross-functional initiative, and proposing cost-reduction measures.

Work Environment

The entire section currently consists of a team of about 15 members, but we anticipate expanding to an organization of 20 to 30 people in the future. There are many mid-career hires with diverse backgrounds and years of service; it is a team where members support and learn from each other while leveraging individual skills and experiences.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Applicants must have experience in one of the following (approximately 3+ years of experience)

- Project management experience

- Experience in analysis using data analysis tools (e.g., DOMO) or SQL

- Business planning, service planning, or experience in a similar organization

- Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word in a professional capacity
