Position Overview:
You'll partner with the Performance Attribution Group (PAG) and Investment Operations to solve complex business problems and shape the technology that supports one of the firm's core investment capabilities.
We're looking for an experienced Business Systems Architect who combines strong technology and analytical skills with a deep understanding of Performance & Attribution, Securities Operations, or related investment operations disciplines. You should be comfortable working with the data and workflows behind portfolio performance—from securities, transactions, positions, pricing, and benchmarks through performance calculation, attribution, and downstream reporting.
We're looking for someone who is motivated by solving business problems—not just gathering requirements. Success in this role comes from curiosity, sound judgment, and a genuine desire to understand how the business works before designing practical technology solutions.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Boston, Massachusetts. Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.
What You’ll Do:
- Build trusted relationships across the Performance Attribution Group (PAG), Investment Operations, Client Reporting, Enterprise Technology, and strategic technology vendors to drive successful business outcomes.
- Lead analysis from concept through implementation, translating business needs into practical technology solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Analyze complex investment workflows, data, and business processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and operational resiliency.
- Investigate business and data issues across systems, identify root causes, and partner with business and technology teams to implement sustainable solutions.
- Help shape the future of Acadian's Performance & Attribution technology capabilities by aligning technology with evolving business needs.
- Partner with software engineers, architects, and technology vendors to deliver scalable, high-quality technology solutions.
- Continuously explore emerging technologies and better ways of working. We value curiosity, thoughtful experimentation, and continuous learning in pursuit of better business outcomes.
- Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and bring structure and clarity to complex business and technology challenges.
We’re Looking for Teammates With:
- 10+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience supporting technology within the investment management industry.
- Significant experience supporting Performance & Attribution, Securities Operations, Investment Operations, Portfolio Accounting, or related investment management functions.
- Demonstrated success building trusted partnerships with business stakeholders and delivering technology solutions that solve complex business problems.
- Experience leading business analysis throughout the software delivery lifecycle within an Agile environment.
- Outstanding analytical, facilitation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with investment management platforms and enterprise data technologies, including BISAM B-One, FactSet Performance, Snowflake, SQL, and Tableau.
- Strong ownership mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to continuously learn, experiment, and improve the way work gets done.
