Operations Technical Specialist – Vaccines Intern

What you will do:
Bring enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to learn while supporting the department’s operational and continuous-improvement activities. Working under the guidance of experienced team members, you will:
- Support department- and site-level activities by applying your academic knowledge of operations, engineering, science or a related discipline.
- Assist with process operations and help investigate technical or process-related issues.
- Record, escalate and support the timely closure of Safety, Quality and Compliance incidents.
- Participate in cross-functional troubleshooting, investigation and problem-solving teams within the Vaccines IPT and across the site.
- Support material-management activities, including identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve availability and control costs.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma and continuous-improvement principles to practical workplace challenges.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects through data gathering, analysis, documentation and follow-up actions.
- Support continuous-improvement initiatives and participate in root-cause analysis using structured approaches such as FMEA, Fishbone diagrams and 5 Whys.
- Help identify process improvements and present recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain the highest standards of Safety, Quality, Compliance and Cost control in all assigned activities.
This placement is designed to provide practical experience in a regulated manufacturing environment while developing problem-solving, communication, teamwork and project-management skills.
The ideal person will:
- Demonstrate knowledge of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical operations (e.g. manufacturing, technology, engineering, quality, analytical)
- Demonstrate delivery of a section of a process / technical project
- Have problem solving skills.
- Work and collaborate across multiple functional teams.

- Good communication skills and the ability to work well both within a team and independently.
