About the Role:
This is an individual contributor role responsible for merchant onboarding, KYB/KYC validation, merchant risk assessment, and Video Customer Identification Process (VCIP). The role requires strong attention to detail, sound risk judgment, and the ability to process cases accurately within defined SLAs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Merchant KYB/KYC Validation & Risk Assessment
Validate and verify merchant KYB/KYC documents including PAN, GST, CIN, bank proof, address proof, and beneficial ownership details. Cross-check documents against regulatory and internal compliance requirements for completeness and authenticity. Identify discrepancies, mismatches, forged/tampered documents, and other risk indicators, and escalate cases as required. Ensure accurate capture and updation of merchant information across internal systems. Conduct risk assessment of merchant websites and mobile applications during the onboarding process. Review product listings, pricing, website content, refund/return policies, contact details, and business models for potential policy or regulatory violations. Identify and flag high-risk merchants, prohibited/restricted categories, suspicious business models, and potential fraud indicators.
2. VCIP – Video Customer Identification Process
Conduct VCIP sessions with merchants/authorized signatories as per defined SOPs and regulatory guidelines. Verify identity, liveness, and document authenticity during video verification. Ensure accurate completion and documentation of VCIP cases within defined TAT.
3. Operations & Compliance
Process merchant cases in accordance with defined SOPs, compliance guidelines, and quality standards. Ensure all cases are completed within defined SLA/TAT. Maintain daily trackers for assigned, completed, pending, and escalated cases. Maintain quality benchmarks as defined through audits and QA reviews. Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, Category, Technology, and Finance teams for case resolution and clarification.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in any discipline. 1+ year of relevant experience in Merchant Onboarding, KYC/KYB, AML, Risk Operations, Fraud Operations, or related areas. Good understanding of KYC/KYB documentation and due diligence processes. Exposure to VCIP, Video KYC, or video-based identity verification is preferred. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Google Sheets, and other MS Office tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good analytical and decision-making abilities. Strong attention to detail with a process-driven and risk-aware approach. Ability to manage multiple cases and work effectively within defined SLAs in a fast-paced environment.
