We are looking for an experiencedย Middleware MQ Engineerย to manage, support, and optimize IBM MQ infrastructure across distributed enterprise environments.
The role will focus on IBM MQ administration, high availability, security, monitoring, troubleshooting, automation, and production support. The ideal candidate will work closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure reliable message delivery, platform stability, and seamless application onboarding.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintainย IBM MQ Queue Managersย across distributed environments.
- Create, configure, and maintain MQ objects includingย queues, channels, listeners, and topics.
- Monitor MQ infrastructure and proactively identify and resolveย performance, capacity, and availability issues.
- Configure and maintainย MQ clustering, Queue Sharing Groups (QSG), and multi-instance Queue Managersย to support high availability and resilience.
- Implement and manage MQ security controls, includingย SSL/TLS, CHLAUTH, OAM, and digital certificate management.
- Perform regularย backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and failover activities, including periodic testing.
- Troubleshoot MQ connectivity, message-flow issues, channel failures, queue problems, and performance bottlenecks.
- Supportย production deployments, application onboarding, and MQ integration activities.
- Develop automation and operational scripts usingย Shell, Bash, Python, or Ansibleย to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Work closely withย application, infrastructure, network, security, and other technology teamsย to ensure platform reliability and smooth operations.
- Monitor and manage MQ environments using tools such asย Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, and IBM MQ Explorer.
- Participate inย incident, problem, and change managementย processes and ensure timely resolution of production issues.
- Provideย on-call and production supportย as required, including troubleshooting critical incidents and restoring services within defined SLAs.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and configuration records for MQ environments.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 7+ years of experienceย in Middleware, IBM MQ Administration, or a similar enterprise messaging/infrastructure role.
- Strong hands-on experience withย IBM MQ, preferably across v8.x and v9.x environments.
- Solid understanding ofย MQ Queue Managers, queues, channels, listeners, topics, and message flows.
- Strong experience withย MQ clustering, high availability, Queue Sharing Groups, and multi-instance Queue Managers.
- Good knowledge ofย Linux/Unix administrationย and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding ofย SSL/TLS, CHLAUTH, OAM, certificates, and MQ security configurations.
- Hands-on scripting experience usingย Shell, Bash, Python, or Ansible.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such asย Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or IBM MQ Explorer.
- Strong troubleshooting skills acrossย MQ connectivity, channel failures, message flow, performance, and availability issues.
- Practical knowledge ofย backup, recovery, disaster recovery, failover, and business continuity practices.
- Experience supportingย production environments, application onboarding, deployments, and critical incidents.
- Familiarity with structuredย incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams.
- Comfortable participating inย on-call supportย and working in a high-availability production environment.
