The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Using various machine and hand tools such as drill press, vertical and horizontal band saws, pedestal grinders, drill motors, disc sanders, files, taps, levels, pipe thread machine, arc and gas welders, etc.
- Working from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions and performing a variety of construction, fabrication, or repair work using steel, sheet metal, plastic, or wood.
- Performing moving and installation of plant or production equipment requiring leveling, trimming grouting, set-up, and start-up, and installing mechanical or hydraulic and pneumatic piping
- Being responsible for inventory of assigned tool cabinet, cart, and hand tools, entering time correctly daily, and completing daily work records and gathering data as required
- Performing general mechanical and electrical/electronic repairs, P.M.’s or adjustments on all plant, facilities, and production equipment, while maintaining a neat and orderly work area and observing all 3M and department safety rules and practices.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Two (2) year technical degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a Maintenance-related field
- Interested and available on weekends, holidays, and regularly work overtime
- Interested and available to work a fixed 2nd (3pm-11pm) or 3rd (11pm-7am) shift
- Interested and available to work shift coverage on short notice
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Four (4) years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
Pay & Benefits:
- The starting rate of pay for this position is $39.76/hour + $1.25/hour shift differential (2nd or 3rd shift). This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences, and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
