What you’ll do

The TJX Global Sourcing and Procurement (GS&P) organization is a trusted partner to our myriad of business functions. As a Global Category Manager – Indirect – Facilities Management, you’ll act as a trusted business partner to the Property Development, Workplace Services, Stores and Distribution functions, collaborating on the development and execution of sourcing events and negotiation strategies for relevant areas of spend. You will partner with the business partners to apply best in class sourcing processes and demonstrate your knowledge of our off-price business model through the guidance you offer during the end-to-end sourcing process.

You are a trusted partner who provides value to your business partners through your sourcing expertise and industry knowledge. You will serve in a pivotal role, leading strategic sourcing engagements on a global basis to enable new business initiatives. You’ll be recognized as someone who drives strategy, cost improvement and develops strong relationships across TJX.

• Leads project execution for sourcing events using defined strategic sourcing methodologies, tools, and templates to ensure a fair, open and competitive sourcing process across the Facilities Management category, inclusive of janitorial services, waste, general maintenance and repairs, and other hard and soft facilities management services.  Supports Senior Category Managers in the execution of their regional and global sourcing events that are high complexity.
• Leads and develops a team of Sr. Category Management Specialists across other indirect categories in a matrix management organization.
• Bring in depth knowledge of the Facilities Management market and other industry trends.

• Manage the full strategic sourcing cycle, including understanding business demand, supplier identification and selection, risk mitigation strategy, price negotiation, contract "red-lining", planning and management of pipeline of strategic sourcing projects.
• Lead strategy development for assigned sourcing events.  Provide support to Senior Category Managers in the development of their regional and global sourcing strategies. Think and act globally to lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in the execution of Strategic Sourcing initiatives and the implementation of category strategies.
• Develop effective and trusting relationships with Business Partners to ensure successful project delivery. This includes relationships with senior leadership. Serve as the liaison between global business partners and suppliers to ensure the most effective approach for meeting validated business requirements through the sourcing process.
• Participate in the development and execution of contracts and ensuring compliance to TJX Approval Authority Schedule and Audit requirements.
• Develop negotiation strategy and conducts negotiations. Participate in Global Category Management planning for assigned categories establishing solid partnerships with our Global peers and colleagues.
• Identify and execute against opportunities for specification alignment, process improvement, and demand management.
• Support supplier relationship management programs.
• Ensure, in partnership with Global Procurement Operations, a compliant ‘Source-to-Pay’ process is in place for all eligible Business Partner spend.
• Monitor and report category-specific savings and performance metrics.
• Collect and actively challenge current product or service requirements; present new sourcing strategies to drive cost savings; recommend new ways to manage demand through process re-design.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or Post-Secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of indirect strategic sourcing or procurement experience.
• Minimum 2+ years managerial experience in global matrix organization with a track record of enabling high-performing, globally aligned regional teams.
• Direct experience leading end-to-end sourcing and negotiations for facilities management
• Experience driving category & sourcing strategy, influencing cross-functional business partners/global & regional teams directly and through their direct reports.
• Knowledge of Facilities management and other indirect sourcing categories as well as current trends.
• Excellent business acumen, strategic, leadership and change management skills with proven experience
• Knowledge of sourcing principles. Strong knowledge of global sourcing and procurement.
• Strong business acumen.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Strong command of procurement/sourcing systems and Microsoft Suite
• Excellent interpersonal relationship development skills when interacting with associates, colleagues, leaders, Business Partners, and suppliers.
• Ability to analyze data related to spend, supplier performance, and market trends. Ability to recognize trends within spend categories.
• Strong presentation skills, with experience presenting information to senior leaders.
• Developed management, training and development skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a Global Capability Center
• Master’s degree in supply chain management, Business or related field
• Experience in the retail industry and managing multinational Business Partners and suppliers.
