Job Description:

Job title: Field Sponsorship Analyst

Location: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Reports to: Operations and Advocacy Manager

The Field Sponsorship Analyst provides specialised technical coordination, guidance, and operational support to 2–3 Area Development Programmes (ADPs) to enable high-quality and responsible Child Sponsorship implementation in line with World Vision standards, systems, and strategic priorities.

The role provides technical expertise, capacity building, planning and implementation support, and quality assurance across three key areas: Future Ready Sponsorship, Child–Sponsor Engagement, and Business Process and Systems Management. The Field Sponsorship Analyst supports the end-to-end Sponsorship process, including Sponsorship Business Systems, correspondence translation and quality assurance, Rich Media quality, and data management, while strengthening ADP staff capacity and ensuring effective system functionality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

The role delivers results through influence, collaboration, and technical support, contributing to WV Mongolia’s Sponsorship strategic goals and ensuring consistent quality and excellence in Child Sponsorship across supported ADPs.

Sponsorship Management and Coordination (20%)

  • Quality implementation and management of Child Sponsorship: The Sponsorship Data Analyst brings specialised technical guidance and support to encourage and enable excellence in Future Ready Sponsorship at ADP level in all areas, including programming, sponsor communications, children’s transformative experience of child sponsorship and successful outcomes in their lives.

  • RC Projection and Inclusion:

    • Provides technical support to RC projection and allocation for inventory management to ensure RC are selected only in active Primary Focus Areas.

    • Provides technical support during annual planning to strengthen community ownership of child protection and participation. Supports APs to ensure that sponsorship activities are integrated with programming wherever possible, and that all RC benefit from project activities.

    • Integration of child sponsorship in DME and annual plans: Provide technical support to ADPs to ensure integration of sponsorship within TPs/IFPs/IPFs and ensure all RC from all age groups have relevant activities and meaningfully participated in and benefited through programme activities. 

    • RC & MVC Participation: MVC inclusion are included in activities and child sponsorship where appropriate.

    • RC Selection: Supports ADPs in planning for and delivering ongoing child selection. Ensures alignment of child selection criteria with WV intent.

    • Child monitoring: Provides technical input and capacity building to assure monitoring processes and systems are integrated.

    • Child protection and safeguarding: Ensure compliance of the Child Protection Policy, implementation of Child Protection strategies, standards, protocols and strengthening committees in all Sponsorship processes.

  • Technical interventions to ensure child sponsorship meets standards, requirements and protocols:  Provide problem solving and technical input, business process reviews and capacity building skills to equip ADPs to address and manage challenges in meeting all required standards.

  • Strengthening quality assurance: Build AP capacity to manage quality assurance effectively across all their sponsorship outputs.

Child and Sponsor Engagement (40%)

  • Ensure all sponsor experience features (correspondence, Sponsorship 3.0 items, FRS products and approach, CEW, videos, photos, and sponsor requests, RC portfolio) are recorded, checked, and processed on time.

  • Make sure translations are correct and clear before sending to sponsors.

  • Support ADP staff to improve the quality of correspondence, photos, videos, and other sponsorship tasks.

  • Help develop and review communication materials at FO and ADP level.

  • Coordinate individual and group sponsor visits and make sure all child protection and safeguarding rules are followed.

  • Ensure the GC/RO so all sponsor materials are sent and received within deadlines.

Business Systems and tools (15%)

  • Ensure SSUI, IMPAQ, Horizon Mobile, Rich Media tools, tech spine and other sponsorship systems are working properly and updated according to WVIT standards.

  • Report and escalate system issues correctly so ADP operations are not interrupted.

  • Support pilots, tests, and feedback for new system updates or business rules.

  • Sponsorship standards: Provides technical support and capacity building to ADP to ensure efficient and effective sponsorship operations. Generate and review Sponsorship reports to ensure high quality of service to children and sponsors and KPIs are maintained as per standard.

  • Business Process improvement: Reviews to assure quality and efficiency of business processes to ensure child sponsorship standards are met. Provides technical support when SOIs are not being met, including review of business process effectiveness.

  • System support: Provides secondary support for sponsorship systems such as Horizon applications including mobile and desktop/web, iMPAQ, Rich Media tools, Tech Spine tools and etc.

    • Ensures all APs maintain inventory of tools and systems

    • RC record management is current and accurate.

Risk Management & Safeguarding (10%)

  • Supports APs in assuring that sponsorship risk management strategies are applied and adjusted as necessary

  • Ensure all child data, sponsorship files, and sponsor information are stored securely following WV data protection rules.

  • Check child photos, videos, and communication materials to make sure they do not reveal sensitive information.

  • Monitor safeguarding and child protection risks in sponsorship tasks and child engagement activities.

  • Report any safeguarding concerns immediately through the correct WV channels and support follow‑up with the Safeguarding focal/Operation and Advocacy Manager.

  • Build staff & partner capacity: Provide guidance, mentoring, and training on safeguarding standards and incident response.

  • Supports APs in assuring that sponsorship risk management strategies are applied and adjusted as necessary.

  • Support standard updates: Assist ADP staff and to contextualize and update safeguarding standards as needed. 

  • Maintain data and information security, conduct regular data analysis, and provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights to supervisors to support informed, evidence-based decision-making.

Organizational Capability (10%)

  • Provide trainings and support to ADP staff, CESS/CC, and volunteers on sponsorship tasks and standards.

  • Train staff on FRS, IPF, Tech spine, SSUI, Horizon Mobile/Desktop, Rich Media, and digital content tools.

  • Support ADP teams to follow correct sponsorship processes and solve issues on time.

  • Help improve and strengthen sponsorship business processes across ADPs.

  • Build staff capacity: Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to strengthen child protection, participation, and local advocacy integration.

  • Develop technical resources: Prepare guides, manuals, and training modules to support effective program delivery. Develop technical guide/training modules as requires for successful implementation of core project models that strengthening protection and participation at the field.

Others (5%)

  • Join and actively contribute on different cross functional teams as required by the line manager/WV Mongolia

  • Spend quality time on developing self-capacity on safeguarding, child protection and partnering with other sector integration

  • Any other assignment as required by the line manager.

  • Attends devotions and weekly chapel services and support the spiritual development of his/her team.

Required Education, training, license, registration and certification

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in development studies, organizational development, social worker or related field;

  • Good understanding of child protection and relevant parts. 

  • Strong understanding on key areas of strengthening child protection and relevant programs

  • Good understanding of program cycle management

  • Excellent training and capacity building skills: demonstrated by relevant experience

Required Professional Experience

  • Strong skills for relating and working with children, including the most vulnerable children

  • Minimum of 2 years of the humanitarian sector

  • Knowledge and skill on monitoring, evaluation, learning and accountability 

  • Experience in working in rural or remote areas

  • Work experience with Government/ International Non-Government Organizations/Local Civil Society

  • English language proficiency is preferred.

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 40% of the time.
