About the team and position
Carvana’s HR Operations team provides top-notch HR and policy/compliance guidance and employee relations support to the organization’s employees and managers, responding to and/or supporting employee/manager complaints, investigations, and corrective action reviews. As a Human Resources Operations Coordinator, you’ll play an important role on the team by performing a number of administrative activities related to our Employee Relations functions. You’ll tap into your organizational, communication, and customer-focused skills to help the team stay effective and efficient.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop, maintain, and utilize a basic knowledge of Carvana’s policies and procedures, particularly those related to employee relations and corrective action.
- Triage the HR inbox on a daily basis.
- Execute daily administrative processes related to the employee life cycle.
- Execute daily completion of unemployment claims within strict deadlines, consistently meeting tight turnaround times to avoid penalties and ensure timely benefit processing.
- Answer routine employee-related inquiries, including basic policy and procedure questions, and route/assign ownership of more involved or complex inquiries to the appropriate parties.
- Provide exceptional care to internal and external customers and maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion with sensitive information.
- Review and sort inbound mail.
- Support the accurate and timely completion of employment verification requests.
- Share input on potential process improvements where appropriate/applicable.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across People Ops and Accounting to drive tasks to completion and support shared priorities.
- Other responsibilities and/or projects as assigned by leadership.
What you should know/have
- At least 1 year of work experience in a Human Resources, Administrative Assistant, or Customer Service capacity.
- Ability to work independently and with a high level of accuracy, initiative, organization, and self-motivation.
- Keen attention to professional email etiquette, especially when transmitting sensitive data.
- Effective (verbal and written) communication skills.
- Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
