About the role

At The Very Group, we know that great colleague experiences create great customer experiences. Our colleague experience team are a key part of our people team, supporting the full end to end colleague journey. 

We're looking for a Colleague Experience Lead to shape and continually evolve the experience of colleagues across key moments that matter, with a particular focus on onboarding and offboarding. From a colleague's first interaction with the business through to their final day, you'll ensure every touchpoint is seamless, consistent and meaningful. 

Leading a team of colleague experience advisors & specialists, you'll drive operational excellence while identifying opportunities to simplify processes, remove friction and enhance the overall experience . You'll use data, insight and feedback to improve processes, increase automation and self-service, and help create an experience that colleagues genuinely value 

You’ll balance experience, efficiency and compliance to ensure our processes remain aligned with employment legislation and regulatory requirements.

What you'll be doing: 

Creating brilliant colleague experiences 

  • Lead a team focused on delivering a seamless, end-to-end colleague experience across every stage of the colleague lifecycle. 
  • Use colleague feedback, insight and data to identify opportunities to improve experiences, remove friction and create moments that matter. 

Driving operational excellence 

  • Ensure colleague processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with all legal, regulatory and compliance requirements. 
  • Balance exceptional colleague experience with robust controls, governance and risk management. 

Leading continuous improvement 

  • Build and deliver a roadmap that increases automation and self-service across the colleague journey. 
  • Use data and insight to simplify processes, eliminate inefficiencies and continuously improve how we support colleagues and managers. 

Leading and developing your team 

  • Build, develop and inspire a high-performing team, creating an environment where people can do their best work. 
  • Set clear priorities, remove obstacles and ensure the team remains focused on delivering the improvements that will have the greatest impact on colleagues. 

About you

You'll be passionate about colleague experience and motivated by making things better. 

You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving problems and be comfortable balancing operational excellence with continuous improvement. You'll be a collaborative leader who brings people together, simplifies complexity and creates momentum. 

We are looking for someone who has: 

  • Experience leading Colleague Experience, People Operations, HR Operations, Shared Services teams. 
  • A passion for creating exceptional colleague experiences. 
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, compliance and operational governance. 
  • Experience using data, insight and feedback to improve services and inform decision-making. 
  • A track record of introducing automation, self-service solutions or process improvements. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. 
  • Strong planning and prioritisation capability within a complex, high-volume environment. 
  • Experience building, developing and leading high-performing teams. 
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a desire to challenge the status quo. 
  • Most importantly, you'll be curious, collaborative and passionate about delivering a service and creating experiences that are simple, effective and genuinely makes a difference for our colleagues.

How to apply 

Please note that the talent acquisition team are managing this vacancy directly, and if successful in securing this role, you will be required to undertake a credit, CIFAS, Right to Work checks and if a specific requirement of your role a DBS (criminal records) check. If it feels like we’re a good match, we’ll share your CV with the hiring manager to review. Our interview process is tailored to each role and can be in-person or held remotely.  

You can expect a two stage interview process for this position:  

1st stage - An informal 30-45 minute video call with the hiring team to discuss your skills and relevant experience. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the role and to ask any questions you may have.  

2nd stage – A one-hour formal face-to-face interview where you can expect a task and values based competency questions.
