CNC Steel Machine Operator
Location: Cocoa Beach, FL
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: Up to $27.00/hour, depending on experience
Shift: 1st and 2nd shifts available
2nd Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hour
Job Overview
We are looking for a CNC Machine Operator with experience operating CNC equipment used in steel fabrication. Experience with a Kinetic Plasma Table, Peddinghaus Saw/Drill Line, Peddinghaus Angle Master, or Ficep Beamline is highly valued.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with overhead cranes, accurately marking parts, reading measurements, and handling materials weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
What You'll Do
Set machine controls and settings for efficient, accurate production.
Verify material type, stock size, dimensions, and specifications before processing.
Measure materials and confirm they meet design requirements.
Apply required information and part identification to materials.
Operate CNC plasma, sawing, drilling, and cutting equipment.
Perform routine machine maintenance and help troubleshoot equipment problems.
Maintain accurate production and material usage records.
Follow workplace safety procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
Safely operate overhead cranes and material transfer/conveyor systems.
Requirements
Experience operating a CNC plasma table or performing sawing, drilling, or cutting operations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, symbols, and technical notes preferred.
Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
Basic math skills.
Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material handling/conveyor equipment.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Comfortable working in both hot and cold environments.
Ability to regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Tekla PowerFab experience preferred.
