Job Summary:
The Category Manager, Owned Brands is responsible for leading strategy, item development, and performance management for an assigned category within iHerb’s Owned Brands portfolio — which may include Dietary Supplements (DS), Beauty, Bath & Personal Care (BBPC), Food & Fitness (FF), or OTC. This role drives the category’s innovation pipeline, manages the existing item portfolio, and partners cross-functionally to bring new products to market and optimize existing lines.
Job Expectations:
Own the strategy, performance, and innovation roadmap for an assigned Owned Brands product category.
Lead new product development briefs from concept through stage gate approval, collaborating with Technical and Supply teams.
Manage existing item portfolio performance including revenue tracking, margin analysis, and discontinuation recommendations.
Conduct competitive benchmarking and consumer trend research to identify white space opportunities and positioning gaps.
Partner with the Insights & Analytics Specialist to develop data-driven category strategies and line review presentations.
Collaborate with Supply Management to ensure launch readiness, procurement alignment, and promotional inventory planning.
Coordinate with Technical Management on formulation requirements, label claims, and regulatory considerations.
Prepare and deliver category business reviews, innovation presentations, and stage gate packages to senior leadership.
Manage category-level financial targets including revenue, margin, and SKU productivity goals.
Support Sales & Marketing planning by providing category context for promotional and content strategies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
Experience in category management, brand management, or product management within consumer goods or e-commerce.
Strong understanding of product development processes and cross-functional NPI coordination.
Analytical ability to evaluate category performance data and translate findings into strategic action.
Excellent project management and organizational skills with experience managing multiple priorities.
Clear and persuasive communication skills, including the ability to build compelling business cases.
Interest in or knowledge of the health and wellness, dietary supplement, or beauty industry.
High attention to detail and a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
Equipment Knowledge:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) — intermediate to advanced Excel required.
Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred.
Familiarity with e-commerce analytics or category management tools a plus.
Experience Requirements:
Generally requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in category management, brand management, or product management within consumer goods, dietary supplements, beauty, or e-commerce. Experience working with contract manufacturers or in a private label environment a plus.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Nutrition, or a related field required. A combination of education and equivalent work experience will also be considered.
