About us:
Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.

Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.

We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.

Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.

We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.

The Role

As a Senior Business Development Manager within the TMT/IP practice group, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of business development strategies that drive growth across our product areas. Working closely with partners, lawyers and colleagues across the Business Development & Marketing function, you will use market insight, client intelligence and data-led analysis to identify opportunities, strengthen client relationships and deliver impactful, client-focused initiatives. This is a varied and highly collaborative role, offering the opportunity to contribute to strategic planning, drive cross-selling opportunities and support profitable revenue growth, while developing your skills within a supportive and high-performing team.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of strategic business development plans for the TMT/IP practice, driving growth across key product areas and supporting profitable revenue generation.

  • Ensure local TMT/IP and client targeting strategies are aligned with global business development priorities, firmwide objectives and broader growth ambitions.

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the Corporate Division as part of the Corporate Business Development leadership team, identifying and delivering opportunities for cross-practice collaboration.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the global Business Development & Marketing function, fostering connectivity, knowledge sharing and alignment with global initiatives.

  • Champion the effective use of global processes, shared services, technology platforms and business development tools to maximise efficiency and impact.

  • Lead the development of compelling win strategies, client pitches and panel submissions, ensuring high-quality, commercially focused outputs that differentiate the firm in the market.

  • Partner closely with Client and Sector Business Development teams to identify opportunities, deliver targeted go-to-market campaigns and strengthen relationships with priority clients and sectors.

  • Drive the use of data-led insights, market intelligence and technology to support horizon scanning, opportunity identification, pipeline management and informed strategic decision-making across the TMT/IP practice.

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Business Development team, fostering an inclusive, collaborative and supportive culture that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant business development experience within a professional services environment, with particular exposure to Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) and/or Intellectual Property (IP) practice areas.

  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of relevant market trends, including digital transformation, technology transactions, media regulation, telecommunications infrastructure and IP protection strategies.

  • Proven experience developing and delivering successful business development strategies that support organisational objectives and drive sustainable growth.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities, build strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate effectively across international teams and functions.

  • Experience leading strategic client pursuits, pitches and panel submissions, with the ability to create compelling value propositions and win strategies.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience using market intelligence, technology and reporting tools to generate actionable insights and inform business development activity.
