The purpose of this role is to understand requirements/business cases/user stories and apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to design, develop and test the application meeting the acceptance criteria. This involves understanding and applying one or more software or scripting language. This may involve developing new applications or enhancing and maintaining existing applications.
What your impact will be:
- Acts as Liaison with Business Analysts and/or internal/external clients to ensure that requirements are understood
- Produces and executes unit test cases as defined by the team
- Maintains coding standards
- Produces supporting technical and installation documentation for internal and external publication as appropriate
- Achieves productivity targets to ensure deliverables are met within budget, on schedule and defined quality standards
- Completes all necessary software and non-software components in the timelines as defined by the Scrum Team/Project Manager
- Produces technical specifications, code and/or unit test plans in line with the traceability matrix/functional specification
- Produces accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications to the required level of detail in the timelines as committed
- Performs the tasks independently with little or no supervision
What we are looking for:
- Education or Equivalent Technical Experience- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Database Administration, or a related technical field; equivalent education, training, or hands-on technical experience may be considered.
- Foundational SQL and Database Knowledge- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts, including tables, indexes, views, keys, relationships, data integrity, and basic query development. Familiarity with Db2 is preferred but not required.
- IBM i/Db2 Interest and Technical Aptitude- Demonstrated interest in learning the IBM i platform and Db2 database administration. Exposure to IBM i, Db2 for i, CL, RPG, or related enterprise technologies is a plus, but the position is designed to provide structured on-the-job development.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills- Ability to analyze database issues, interpret technical information, troubleshoot defined problems, identify data or configuration discrepancies, and follow established procedures to resolve or escalate issues appropriately.
- Strong Documentation, Communication, and Learning Skills- Ability to accurately document database changes, analysis, testing, monitoring activities, and troubleshooting results; communicate effectively with technical teams; follow change-management and production-support procedures; and demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies and processes under technical guidance.

Salary Range:
$50-60k
