About the role

As a D2C Director of Product, you will be at the forefront of driving features and infrastructure capabilities that are critical to our platform -  with a particular focus on the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) initiative. You’ll lead the end-to-end development of technically complex features, such as server-to-server integrations, backend workflows, data exchange between internal systems and external partners and user facing UI and experiences.  This role requires strong technical intuition, sensitivity to user experience details, ability to navigate documentation, and a deep understanding of how systems connect across the stack. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, business partners and other product managers to ensure seamless alignment across teams and deliver robust, scalable solutions that support our D2C efforts and broader platform evolution.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead both backend/frontend  product features and technical platform initiatives from concept to delivery.
• Deeply understand our platform architecture, including how backend services interact with frontend applications and data systems.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, data product managers, and frontend product managers to align on product scope, milestones, and delivery plans.
• Read and interpret technical documentation (e.g., APIs, system designs) to define product specs and translate them into actionable work for engineering teams.
• Identify product opportunities by analyzing platform capabilities and gaps in technical infrastructure.
• Write clear, detailed, and technically accurate product requirements and specifications.
• Ensure high-quality execution through testing, validation, and iteration in collaboration with engineering and QA.
• Serve as the product point of contact for technical stakeholders and system integrators.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience as a product manager or in a similar role owning frontend and or backend features.
• Team management experience 
• Strong understanding of backend & frontend  architectures, APIs, data structures, and system design.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

The pay range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $92,000 and $142,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 5–10 years of experience in data science or machine learning roles, with 3+ years of experience in people management.

• Technical Proficiency: Expert proficiency in SQL and Python. You must be capable of writing and reviewing production-grade code and have hands-on experience with cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Databricks).

• Modeling Expertise: Strong background in Classical ML, Deep Learning, and familiarity with Generative AI (LLMs, Multimodal embeddings, Langchain or like technologies).

• Engineering Mindset: Proven ability to bridge the gap between Research and Engineering. Experience deploying models to production and maintaining them is essential.

• Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, or a related quantitative field; a PhD is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the mobile gaming industry or high-velocity B2C tech environments.

• Passion for gaming and experience playing various game genres.

• Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Sage).
