The Role

You will own critical infrastructure components that ingest, enrich, and route billions of data points — ensuring performance, reliability, and horizontal scalability. Your work will directly impact throughput, customer SLAs, billing accuracy, and platform reliability.

As a Senior Engineer, you'll operate at the intersection of deep system design, hands-on implementation, and technical leadership. You’ll collaborate with other engineers to design fault-tolerant, observable, and cost-efficient systems that support our distributed workloads.

What You'll Work On

Scraping Platform Reliability & Scale

• Own the availability and success rate of the scraping API — the core product metric
• Drive architectural improvements that increase throughput and reduce failure rates across diverse target sites
• Design systems that degrade gracefully, self-heal, and adapt to shifting detection patterns without human intervention

Distributed Job Execution

• Design and evolve the async execution architecture that processes millions of concurrent tasks across nodes and regions
• Build robust retry strategies, idempotency, dynamic routing, rate limiting, and prioritization
• Own scheduling infrastructure for recurring, event-driven, and user-triggered workflows

Reliability & Observability

• Define and enforce SLAs for both the scraping API and job processing systems
• Build alerting and dashboards for failure modes, success rate regressions, throughput anomalies, and retry storms
• Lead incident response and post-mortems; participate in on-call responsibilities for the systems you own

Technical Leadership

• Contribute meaningfully to architecture decisions — not just implementation
• Raise the bar in design reviews and engineering standards across the team
• Mentor peers and drive adoption of sound distributed systems practices

What We're Looking For

Required

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience, with meaningful time spent building and operating high-throughput, high-availability distributed systems
• Strong fundamentals in concurrency, fault tolerance, consistency models, and systems design
• Hands-on experience with queueing and messaging systems (SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, BullMQ, or similar)
• Comfortable operating at scale — tens of millions of requests or events per day, across multiple nodes or regions
• Solid production instincts: you think about retries, deduplication, backpressure, and observability before writing the first line
• Clean, maintainable code in Go (or a comparable backend language)
• Experience with distributed tracing, metrics, and logging (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent)
• Clear communicator — you can drive a technical debate and explain complex tradeoffs to non-engineers alike

Bonus

• Experience with browser automation at scale (Playwright, Puppeteer, or similar)
• Familiarity with proxy infrastructure, TLS fingerprinting, or HTTP-level anti-bot patterns
• You've designed or operated a workflow engine, job scheduler, or orchestration system
• You have a war story from a system that broke badly in production — and clear lessons learned from it

We're looking for a Head of Content to own how ZenRows is discovered, understood, and trusted across LLMs, developer communities, integration ecosystems, and the open web.

The Role

This is not a content volume role. It's a content positioning role.

The way developers and technical teams discover tools has fundamentally changed. Google search is no longer the only, or even the primary surface. Developers ask ChatGPT. Business users ask Gemini. AI engineers search Perplexity. Workflows are built inside Clay, n8n, and Make, where discovery happens through directories, templates, and community recommendations.

Your job is to make ZenRows the trusted, cited, recommended answer across all of these surfaces, not just in Google's top 10.

You'll work closely with Product, Sales, and the GTM Engineer to ensure content is a genuine growth engine, not a support function.

What You'll Own

🔍 AEO, GEO & Discoverability Strategy

This is the core of the role.

• Own ZenRows' Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategy: ensuring we are the cited, recommended answer when developers and AI engineers ask about web scraping, data collection, workflow automation, and data pipelines
• Understand how LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity) surface and prioritize content, and build a strategy around it
• Develop structured, citation-friendly content formats: comparison pages, definitional guides, integration explainers, and technical FAQs that earn LLM citations
• Own competitive intelligence: track how competitors are being cited, recommended, and positioned in AI search

📊 SEO Strategy & Content Operations

• Own ZenRows' organic search strategy end-to-end: keyword research, topic prioritization, content gap analysis, and competitive benchmarking, with a clear view of where SEO still drives meaningful pipeline and where it doesn't
• Lead content operations: manage the editorial calendar, maintain publishing velocity, and ensure quality standards across in-house writers, freelancers, and external agencies
• Manage, and develop a team of technical writers and editors, setting clear briefs, review processes, and feedback loops that raise the floor on content quality without creating bottlenecks
• Own the relationship with external content agencies: briefing, quality control, performance review, and deciding what stays in-house versus what gets outsourced
• Develop and maintain off-page SEO strategy: link acquisition, guest publishing, and building the kind of third-party authority signals that reinforce ZenRows' position in both traditional search and LLM training corpora
• Work closely with Engineering on technical SEO: site architecture, crawlability, Core Web Vitals, structured data markup, and indexing health, you won't do this alone, but you'll own the roadmap and hold the team accountable
• Maintain a content performance framework: define and track the metrics that matter (organic traffic, keyword rankings, assisted conversions, LLM citation frequency) and use them to make prioritization decisions, not just report on them
• Continuously audit the existing content library for decay, cannibalization, and coverage gaps, and make the hard calls about what gets updated, consolidated, or cut

🧑‍💻 Developer Education & Docs-as-Marketing

• Turn ZenRows' documentation into a top-of-funnel acquisition channel. Think Stripe's docs: content that ranks, educates, and converts, not marketing fluff disguised as technical writing
• Build actionable, developer-focused resources: integration tutorials, use-case walkthroughs, SDK examples, and migration guides
• Create content specifically for the AI/LLM data pipeline audience: tutorials on using ZenRows for RAG pipelines, AI agents, training data collection, MCP server integrations, and agentic workflows
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product to ensure documentation is accurate and genuinely useful
• Partner with DevRel to amplify technical content across developer communities

🔗 Ecosystem & Integration Content

This is new territory for ZenRows, and one of the highest-leverage content surfaces in 2026.

• Build and maintain a library of integration content: how ZenRows works inside Clay, n8n, Make, Zapier, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and other workflow and AI platforms
• Create content that earns ZenRows a presence in integration marketplaces and community directories, not just Google
• Partner with the Partnerships Manager on co-marketing content: joint guides, partner-specific tutorials, template libraries
• Develop content that serves workflow builders and automation teams: non-developer technical users building workflows and automation without writing code

📈 PLG Content & Activation

• Build a content-led activation flywheel: blog post attracts developer → documentation helps them succeed → integration guide shows them what's possible → usage converts to paid
• Partner with Product and Growth on in-app content, onboarding flows, and activation-focused tutorials
• Own the content layer of the trial-to-paid conversion journey

🤝 Sales Enablement & Enterprise Content

• Support Sales with high-impact materials: competitive battle cards, use-case one-pagers, ROI narratives, and case studies
• Develop positioning content for workflow builders and automation teams, as well as business users who interact with data through AI tools and LLM interfaces
• Build and maintain a lean, current library of sales enablement assets, prioritize quality and relevance over volume

👥 Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the existing content team
• Define and maintain editorial standards and brand voice across all content types
• Build a culture of experimentation and outcome orientation, not content volume
• Scale through leverage: AI-assisted workflows, freelance network, and smart prioritization

The Person

We're looking for someone who thinks in distribution systems, not publishing calendars.

Required

• 5+ years in content, growth, or developer marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS, API, or developer infrastructure company
• Deep understanding of AEO and GEO: you know how LLMs source and surface answers, and you've thought about what it means for content strategy
• Technical fluency in developer tools, APIs, or adjacent infrastructure. You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to be able to write or edit a Python snippet, understand what a headless browser does, and explain a web scraping use case to a non-technical audience
• Proven experience building content for both self-serve/PLG and integration-led or enterprise motions
• Strong editorial judgment, you can tell the difference between content that educates and content that fills a calendar
• Experience building and maintaining integration or ecosystem content: tutorials, partner guides, marketplace presence
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, autonomous environment without heavy process
• Fluent in English (we are an English-first organization)

Strong Advantage

• Experience with workflow automation platforms (Clay, n8n, Make, Zapier) from a content or product perspective
• Familiarity with the LLM/AI agent ecosystem: LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, RAG architectures
• Experience evolving or rebuilding a content function through a GTM pivot, not just building from scratch
• Track record of content that drove ecosystem or community-led growth, not only organic search traffic
• Experience using AI-assisted tools to automate content operations at scale (n8n, Claude Code, or similar)

The Role: 

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Stealth & Reverse Engineering team—the elite force responsible for making our headless browsers and traffic completely undetectable by modern anti-bot systems.

You will own and evolve our custom fork of Chromium, continuously identifying and patching all behavioral and fingerprinting vectors that reveal automation. You'll go deep into browser internals, reverse engineer anti-bot defenses, and create a fully cloaked browsing experience across real-world targets.

You’ll also build internal tools that detect, analyze, and resolve JavaScript-based bot challenges (like fingerprinting, integrity checks, proof-of-work, and obfuscation traps), and help automate evasions across our infrastructure.

This is a deeply technical, adversarial, and high-leverage role at the heart of what makes our scraping infrastructure world-class.

Key Responsibilities:

🧬 Browser Fingerprinting & Chromium Patching

• Own and evolve our Chromium fork, maintaining full control over browser behavior and instrumentation.
• Patch and neutralize browser fingerprinting surfaces: canvas, audio, WebGL, screen, navigator, user agent, and more.
• Harden the browser against integrity checks (function.toString, error stack traces, memory layout, etc.).
• Ensure parity with real users under advanced detection tools like FingerprintJS, Datadome, PerimeterX, and others.

🔬 Reverse Engineering & Challenge Automation

• Analyze real-world JavaScript challenges and traps designed to detect bots.
• Reverse engineer obfuscated payloads and evasive scripts using tools like Chrome DevTools, Frida, Wireshark, mitmproxy, etc.
• Build internal tooling to automatically detect, triage, and solve bot challenges, integrating into our scraping runtime.
• Develop detection signatures for new anti-bot mechanisms and continuously track vendor evolution.

🧰 Internal Tooling & Automation

• Build robust internal libraries to spoof browser behavior, intercept and manipulate DOM/state, and bypass anti-bot logic.
• Create automated pipelines that detect detection, trigger browser patches, or escalate to manual review.
• Integrate JavaScript instrumentation and DOM mutation trackers to flag stealth issues before customers do.

📊 Observability, Resilience & Safety

• Build internal dashboards to monitor fingerprint mismatches, challenge rates, JS errors, and detection spikes.
• Proactively identify and mitigate stealth regressions caused by Chromium updates or vendor changes.
• Help maintain and evolve our internal stealth testbed, simulating dozens of anti-bot vendor environments.

🧠 Technical Leadership & Deep Expertise

• Be the team’s go-to expert in browser internals, bot detection evasion, and security-focused reverse engineering.
• Mentor engineers in topics like V8 internals, JS fingerprinting, and browser automation stealth.
• Help define our long-term strategy around browser-level evasion and undetectable scraping at scale.

The Person: 

You’re the kind of engineer who doesn’t just use tools—you tear them apart to understand exactly how they work. You’re fluent in browser internals, and you treat anti-bot systems as adversaries to outsmart.

You’re comfortable working in the gray areas of web security, JavaScript instrumentation, and reverse engineering. You love automation, can write clean low-level code, and know how to survive in hostile runtime environments.

This role is for a rare breed of engineer who’s part hacker, part builder, and 100% obsessed with invisibility.

Key Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of software engineering with a focus on browsers, reverse engineering, or automation in adversarial environments.
• Fluency in C++ and JavaScript (Node or browser), with ability to write clean, testable low-level code.
• Deep understanding of Chromium internals: Blink, V8, DevTools Protocol, browser architecture, etc.
• Proven experience patching Chromium or building hardened browser automation setups (e.g., stealth plugins, puppeteer-core forks).
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript fingerprinting, detection vectors, and browser inconsistencies.
• Familiarity with anti-bot vendors like PerimeterX, Datadome, Kasada, Akamai Bot Manager, and FingerprintJS.
• Strong debugging and tooling skills: Chrome DevTools, Wireshark, mitmproxy, Frida, Objection, or similar.
• Experience automating evasion workflows and detection pipelines is a major plus.
• Communicate clearly, document thoroughly, and guide complex decisions across teams.
