The Business Enterprise Advisory practice is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Lead Consultant to join our Auto Advisory practice. The Lead Consultant will primarily assist with the preparation and review of warranty parts and labor rate submissions as well as labor time guide submissions on behalf of our automotive clients. We seek an individual who has outstanding communication skills; ability to get along with all types of people and personalities; and experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced professional environment. This position can be based out of any US office location or can be remote.

How You'll Spend Your Time:

• Preparing and reviewing warranty parts and labor rate calculations
• Preparing (including coding) warranty labor time guide submissions
• Comparing the excel data to PDF copies of repair orders
• Identifying missing repair orders within the sequence
• Ensuring overall compliance with applicable state statute and manufacturer requirements
• Working collaboratively with the team’s staff, senior manager and partner
• Managing 10+ team members while reporting to the partner and senior manager on the team.

• Prior experience in automotive industry and/or experience with warranty reimbursement, warranty claims submission and/or repair order review are requirements.

• Accounting degree not required

The compensation for this position ranges from $95,000-$125,000. How You’ll Spend Your Time:

• Supervising and reviewing sales and use tax compliance work, including monthly, quarterly, and annual returns across multiple jurisdictions
• Overseeing nexus analyses, taxability determinations, and registration requirements for new and existing clients
• Reviewing exemption certificate processes, resale documentation, and exemption applicability by state
• Managing and prioritizing team workflows to ensure deadlines, accuracy, and service‑level expectations are met
• Serving as a technical resource for staff, providing guidance on complex taxability issues, sourcing rules, and state‑specific regulations
• Reviewing workpapers, reconciliations, and filings for technical accuracy and completeness prior to submission
• Handling client communications related to compliance questions, notices, and ongoing advisory needs
• Assisting with audit support, including document requests, auditor correspondence, and resolution of assessments
• Drafting or reviewing penalty abatement requests, voluntary disclosure agreements, and state correspondence
• Supporting  technology implementations (e.g., Avalara, Vertex) and assisting with tax engine mapping and troubleshooting
• Monitoring changes in sales and use tax laws and regulations and communicate impacts to the team and clients
• Supporting onboarding and training of new team members, including reviewing work and providing constructive feedback
• Coordinating with managers and partners on scope, budgeting, and client risk areas

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting 
• Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification with parts passed 
• Masters of Science in Taxation is preferred but not required 
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience

• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects 
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management

• Ability to travel as needed

Maryland ranges are from - $90,000 - $115,000 annually

Rhode Island ranges are from- $95,000 - $125,000 annually
