Our mission
Since 2014, our Sendwave app has allowed Africans in the US, the UK, and Canada to send money instantly to mobile money wallets in Kenya, Uganda, & Tanzania, saving our users over 70% relative to Western Union and MoneyGram.
In 2016, we expanded our scope and began building Wave, a mobile money product for domestic markets in Africa.
The problem: Nearly 60% of adults in sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason — the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and most merchants only accept cash. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
How we're solving it: We're building financial services to work as they should: no account fees, instantly available and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always function, we're creating financial infrastructure that "just works." How you'll help us achieve it
We are looking for field officers to manage product rollouts as we launch our business in one of these regions in Cameroon: Yaoundé, Bafoussam, Bertoua or Maroua/Kaéle. You will also represent Wave, oversee our distribution and marketing, interact with and recruit users, and conduct interviews with individuals about their needs and concerns related to money transfer and financial services.
In this role, you'll:
- Identify and build a local agent network and guarantee the agent network is fully trained on applications, the contents of the contract before signing, rebalancing options, fraud management, etc.
- Recruit target users and onboard them on the use of Wave products
- Collaborate with Field Officers in different locations to progress the adoption of Wave products
- Ensure agent quality and compliance with legal and policy requirements.
Ensure all agents are well-branded and well-equipped. Monitor the cash and float availability at agent locations.
- Manage risk through routine visits to report emerging issues and assess agents' performance in your territory.
- Identify underperforming agents, close them, recover Wave items and equipment, and ensure that branding material is removed.
- Be the primary contact for all agency networks acquiring Wave products in your territory.
- Champion excellent customer service among distributors and agents within your territory.
Requirements
- Fluent French, with ideally a good command of one additional local language.
- Medium English Level.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience, specifically managing an agent network in Cameroon, including a minimum of 1 year of experience managing field-based teams
- Familiar with at least one of the regions listed.

How you'll help us achieve it
Our Agent Quality team plays a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining a compliant and efficient agent network. Collaborating closely with our agent management and compliance teams, we develop robust internal policies, procedures, and practices to ensure agent compliance. Our goal is to ensure that every aspect of our agent network — from training initiatives to branding strategies — adheres seamlessly to both Wave’s standards and regulatory requirements.
By joining our team, you'll have the opportunity to drive impactful change, ensuring that our network operates at the highest standards of quality and compliance in the industry.
In this role you’ll;
- Coordinate and lead the unit team to implement the strategy and achieve the planned objectives in agent quality management.
- Identify, plan, and coordinate monthly projects to improve processes and tools within the agent ops team.
- Coordinate policy reviews and process documentation, including key learnings, and help with knowledge transfer sessions with other affiliate country operations.
- Assist with ideas, special programs, project designs, and pilot implementations as may be determined by the business related to your unit.
- Help track agent quality through well-coordinated mystery shopping with your team.
- Manage a team of high-performing Mystery Shoppers, mentoring and coaching them to perform to the best of their ability.
- Devise ways to unearth and track tricks and ways by which agents do not utilize Wave’s allocated funds for the intended purpose, and suggest improvements.
- Develop and formalize control procedures to ensure the quality of agents across the network.
- Work from first principles to understand the user's biggest problems, then figure out how processes and tools should work to solve them.
- Prioritize the biggest problems blocking the unit's performance and impact.
- Support the Head of Operations in identifying and mitigating risks across the network and for our customers.

As a Premium Cash Officer within our premium agency, your primary responsibility would be overseeing the agency's operations.
In this role, you’ll;
- Manage cash in and out between the Safe and PCA accounts.
- Hold end-of-day bill counting and produce a daily bill counting statement.
- Ensure that all cash management transactions are correctly recorded in the treasury system.
- Promptly request sufficient funds to ensure rebalance with agents/clients.
- Ensure transactions with cash-in-transit companies (Cash in/Cash out).
- Report discrepancies or challenges encountered by Premium Cash Assistants.
- Report fake bills to management.
- Ensure that furniture and materials are in good use and that the office is well secured.

Wave Burkina is hiring a resourceful and results-oriented Head of Operations. In this key role, you will oversee operations during a period of rapid business growth. We are looking for a proven leader capable of managing core operational teams, including agent operations, user growth, agent liquidity, cash security, agent quality, and operational training.
Additionally, you will be instrumental in innovating and implementing growth initiatives to build a high-quality agent network that enables faster, more efficient user acquisition. How you'll help us achieve it
We’re looking for a Training Administrator who pays close attention to detail, can multitask, and works well under pressure. As a Training Administrator, your goal will be to ensure that most agents, distributors, and staff participate in our training sessions and that they run. You should be a reliable problem-solver with strong project management skills. You'll be responsible for communicating with agents and distributors, assisting trainers with the reservation of training rooms, dispatching training goodies, calling agents, organizing training agendas, and completing reports.
In this role, you'll;
- Call and invite participants to the in-region training organized by the trainers.
- Maintain training records (e.g., trainee lists, schedules, attendance sheets).
- Design a dashboard for key metrics, monitor data, and analyze.
- Book training rooms and ensure they’re properly set up.
- Prepare and disseminate material (e.g., instructional notes, feedback forms).

We’re looking for an Agent Liquidity Regional Lead to deputize the Agent Liquidity Lead in the assigned region. The role holder will be responsible for structuring and deploying strategies across the region to deliver optimized cash flow solutions and anticipate liquidity demand to support the optimal operation of the money transfer product. This is a data-driven position, and the candidate is expected to be very conversant with spreadsheets, graphs, and charts, and cash management tools.

We are hiring Agent Operations Territory Leads to manage product rollouts and supervise agents in different cities. You will also represent Wave, oversee our distribution and marketing, interact with users, and conduct interviews with individuals about their needs and concerns related to money transfer and financial services.

We're hiring a Regional Lead to join our Agent Operations team in Burkina Faso. Reporting to the Agent Ops Lead, the role holder will oversee all Wave agent network acquiring and operations management for the assigned region by supervising all the activities of the agent openers and liaising with the respective agent admin teams to attain the set targets in the region.
In this role, you'll;
- Agent growth: Coordinate the Agent Openers in identifying opportunity areas for new agent locations and acquiring required agents according to the set agent selection criteria and guidelines.

You will also engage directly with users, agents, and merchants to better understand their needs and challenges related to money transfers and financial services, providing valuable insights to inform our local strategy.
In this role, you'll:
- Ensure agent quality and compliance with legal and policy requirements.
- Guarantee the agent network is fully trained on applications, the contents of the contract before signing, rebalancing options, fraud management, etc.
- Collaborate with the BTL team to build a well-branded, well-equipped agent network.
- Collaborate with the agent liquidity team to monitor cash and float availability at agent locations.
- Manage risk through routine visits to report emerging issues and assess agents' performance in your territory.
- Identify underperforming agents, close them, recover Wave items and equipment, and ensure branding materials are removed.
- Be the primary contact for all agency networks acquiring Wave products in your territory.
- Champion excellent customer service among distributors and agents within your territory.
Requirements
- Fluent in English & French, with ideally a good command of one additional local language.
- Experience working with informal merchants, market vendors, or agent networks is a plus.
- 2–3 years of experience in field sales, microfinance, telecoms, or fintech.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned zone.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, sometimes challenging field conditions.
- High level of integrity and reliability.
