Reporting directly to the Co-CIO and working closely with our investment and product teams, you’ll lead research initiatives, design innovative portfolio strategies, and translate complex investment ideas into scalable, technology-driven solutions.

This role is ideal for a highly analytical, market-savvy investment professional who excels at solving complex problems, developing differentiated strategies, and driving thought leadership. You’ll focus primarily on research, portfolio design, and the strategic frameworks that underpin our investment approach—while also collaborating cross-functionally to bring these ideas to life on the Vise platform. While this is a research-forward role, a client-first mindset is essential; you must be equally comfortable communicating with internal stakeholders and engaging with advisors when needed to ensure our solutions meet their evolving needs. 

What you bring on day one:

• Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in investment research, portfolio strategy, or asset management
  • Expertise in asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk modeling, or security selection

• Custom Index Research & Strategy Development
• Conduct in-depth research on portfolio construction methodologies, direct indexing techniques, tax optimization strategies, and systematic/factor-based tilts
• Analyze and enhance custom index models and strategy templates across asset classes, with a focus on scalability and personalization
• Build tools and analytical workflows that support the design, deployment, and evaluation of custom index portfolios at scale

Job Description

We are looking for a Compliance Officer to join our Legal & Compliance team. In this role, you will help support and maintain Vise’s compliance program, ensuring we meet our regulatory obligations while enabling our business to grow. You’ll report directly to the Chief Legal Officer (“CLO”) and collaborate closely with teams across the company, as well as the third-party compliance consultant that currently supports the CLO.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of investment adviser compliance experience in financial services or fintech who wants to take on meaningful responsibility in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

This role is onsite in NYC, in our SoHo office.

What you bring on day one:

• Bachelor’s Degree (finance, accounting, economics, legal preferred, but not required)
• 2–4 years of experience in a compliance role within the financial services or fintech industry
• Strong understanding of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and related SEC rules

You'll be an indispensable resource for our financial advisor clients and play a critical role in the operational center of Vise; working directly with custodians, acting as the liaison between Account Managers, Investment Operations, and Trading—ensuring smooth account onboarding, maintenance, and day-to-day workflow execution.
