Senior Data Engineer
VGW is an interactive entertainment company, harnessing technology and creativity to deliver world-class, free-to-play online social games.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Technology team in Poland, and we’re currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to be a part of the team.
The Senior Data Engineer will play a key leadership role within our product teams, ensuring the delivery of trusted, high-impact data products. This person will guide the team in planning, building, shipping and maintaining solutions that truly serve our customers and stakeholders. The role combines technical leadership, hands-on project delivery and coaching, with full responsibility for the quality, usability, governance and overall success of our data products.
Key responsibilities will include:

Lead engineering teams in designing, building and delivering trusted, high-impact data products.

Provide technical leadership through hands-on work, coaching and guiding others across data engineering best practices.

Develop, operate and optimise robust data pipelines and systems that ingest, cleanse, transform and structure diverse datasets.

Drive design discussions and architecture sessions, facilitating consensus on the most effective and scalable solutions.
-
Ensure coding, infrastructure and operational standards are met, and champion Continuous Delivery and Secure SDLC practices.

Collaborate with product teams to define and evolve data product standards, governance and quality guidelines.

Identify opportunities to improve data flows, pipelines and data products, ensuring performance, reliability and operational readiness.

Maintain clear, up-to-date technical documentation to support system continuity and knowledge sharing across teams.
-
Mentor and develop engineers, contribute to knowledge sharing, and support growth of the organisation through hiring and community engagement.

Advocate for a data-driven culture, helping teams make informed decisions and continually improve how data is leveraged across the business.
What you will bring to the role:
-
Degree in Computer Science or 5+ years of equivalent practical experience.
-
Proficient in SQL and Python.
- Experience with Snowflake.
-
Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, DynamoDB).
-
Skilled in building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines and working with semi-structured data.
-
Proficient in cloud-native DataOps practices (IaC, CI/CD, Git).
-
Experience with AWS data services such as EMR, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, Glue.
-
Experience with data modelling and warehousing (Dimensional, Data Vault 2.0) will be an advantage.

Exposure to large-scale data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, Spark Streaming).
- AWS Associate-level certifications are desirable.

We’re currently looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our partner company - Pixel Pioneers, an Australian boutique firm building innovative gaming and e-commerce products that shape the future of the industry.
In this role, you will work closely with Head of Technology, translating product vision into clear strategy and guiding engineering and design teams through execution. The role focuses primarily on skill-based gaming and social gaming products.
Please note: This position is with Pixel Pioneers, not directly with VGW.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Translate product vision into clear product strategy and roadmap for engineering and design teams;
- Lead the launch and post-launch optimisation of a new skill-based gaming platform;
- Drive product improvements, feature prioritisation, and roadmap execution;
- Work closely with UI/UX, engineering, and product coordination teams to deliver features efficiently;
- Analyse player behaviour, product metrics, and performance to guide data-driven product decisions;
- Oversee game mechanics, meta systems, and economy design to support engagement and monetisation;
- Ensure product decisions align with regulatory requirements and compliance considerations.
What we’re looking for:
- Significant experience in gaming, iGaming, or casual gaming product management;
- Strong understanding of game mechanics, meta features, and game economy design;
- Proven ability to own product strategy and make autonomous decisions;
- Experience launching and iterating live products in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong understanding of monetisation models and commercial product performance;
- Experience working with data-driven product development and experimentation;
- Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
