We own the tooling, infrastructure, and best practices that help every engineer at Rocket Money ship faster and with more confidence.

The unique challenge of Team Boost is holding developer experience and user experience in alignment, and we hold a sincere belief that the best outcomes happen when we make it easy for engineers to build performant software by default.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL:
- Make the right thing the easiest thing: Identify developer friction points like slow type-checking, confusing test infrastructure, or painful onboarding and eliminate them through documentation, tooling, and automation.
- Lead large-scale initiatives with precision and clarity: Write RFCs for projects related to our mission, build consensus across teams, and systematically execute architectural changes across the codebase.
- Hunt down performance bottlenecks across the full stack: profile, instrument, and resolve issues spanning client rendering performance, GraphQL latency, and database query performance.
- Raise quality and confidence through automation: Improve code quality across the engineering organization by authoring custom lint rules, maintain code generation pipelines that ensure type safety across packages, tune and maintain CI workflows to be both thorough and fast, and ensure that quality gates catch real issues rather than slow developers down.
- Keep the foundation solid: Upgrade and maintain critical dependencies across a large dependency graph by navigating breaking changes in tools and manage pnpm catalogs, patches, and overrides to keep ~20 packages building cleanly.
ABOUT YOU 🦄
- You have 5+ years of professional experience working with some combination of Node/TypeScript, React, React Native, GraphQL, and Postgres (or similar relational database).
- You have a passion for performance and observability: improving load times, digging into metrics and traces to diagnose issues, or speeding up CI pipelines all sound like fulfilling projects. Experience with GitHub Actions, E2E testing frameworks, or mobile-specific concerns like over-the-air updates and native build tooling is a plus.
- You're comfortable working across the full stack and diving deep into unfamiliar systems to understand how they work and how to make them better, whether that’s tracing a performance regression through GraphQL resolvers, ORM models, or caching layers. Bonus points for hands-on experience with large-scale TypeScript + GraphQL stacks and pnpm workspaces.
- You've led or participated in large-scale codebase migrations where “just rewrite it” wasn’t an option. You understand the technical and social challenges that come with new tooling and processes, and how to break massive changes into safe, incremental steps.
- You're both a student and a teacher, curious about new tools and technologies, eager to share what you learn through RFCs and technical strategy docs, and energized by the ambiguity that comes with a growing engineering organization.
- You think about developer feedback loops as a product: how long does it take from saving a file to seeing the result, from pushing a commit to getting CI feedback, and you thrive on measuring these processes and then working to systematically shrink them.

- Authentication (registration, login, account access, and user lifecycle workflows)

- Partner closely with product engineers, data teams, and operations partners to create systems that are safe, scalable, and pleasant to use.
- Improve reliability and observability across critical workflows by instrumenting services, debugging production issues, and raising engineering standards.

The Credit Products team helps clients improve their readiness for homeownership, through a collaboration between Rocket Money and Rocket Mortgage. We build technology and solutions that empower both our clients, and the internal teams who work directly with them. Some of the key products we support include:
- User-facing public web applications and CRM for clients interested in home ownership.
- Internal tools to improve the efficiency of licensed mortgage bankers and consultants.
- Data pipelines for receiving, enriching, and operationalizing data across the company.
Our platform is a bit over a year old, and much of our work is greenfield development on applications we’ve built as a small team. At the same time, we interact extensively with existing systems within our larger parent organization. As a result, our days are usually a healthy mix of deep, focused development, alongside collaboration with teams across the company.
A (non-exhaustive) list of a few technologies we work with frequently include: Python, FastAPI, UV, Kafka, Confluent, React, TypeScript, TanStack, C#, .Net, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, SalesForce, AWS, and GitHub Actions.

We’re looking for experienced, full-stack software engineers to own the lifecycle of turning our team’s ideas and needs into reality. Our platform is a bit over a year old, and much of our work is greenfield development on applications we’ve built as a small team. At the same time, we interact extensively with existing systems within our larger parent organization. As a result, our days are usually a healthy mix of deep, focused development, alongside collaboration with teams across the company.

ABOUT YOU 🤹♀️
We’re looking for experienced, full-stack software engineers to own the lifecycle of turning our team’s ideas and needs into reality. Ideally, you have deep familiarity with our tools and tech stack so you can hit the ground running. Even more importantly, you’re an adaptable learner who’s driven by growth—both your own, and that of the organization. You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have 7+ years of experience in relevant software engineering projects.
- Have an entrepreneurial spirit, and are excited to use your technical skills to positively impact business outcomes.
- Write clean, reliable code across a variety of platforms.
- Have significant professional experience working with one or more of the following: Python, React (or similar frontend framework), Postgres (or a similar relational database).
- Are naturally collaborative, curious, and communicative, and enjoy ideating with product, marketing, and other engineering teams as much as you love writing code.
- Are motivated by our mission to help people improve their financial lives, and achieve homeownership.

Additional Information: Salary range of $150,000 - $185,000/year + bonus + benefits. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL:
- Work alongside a cross-functional team to implement, iterate, and debug product features that drive forward both the company and the user.
- Own projects from end to end, making key decisions in the implementation of new features that balance technical concerns with business concerns.
- Develop with TypeScript across the stack, building user interfaces using React/React Native and the backend support required to power them with Node & GraphQL.
- Be a steward of good user experience, ensuring that the interfaces we present our users are performant, understandable, and delightful.
- Help to maintain our high technical bar, participating in code reviews and design discussions to ensure that we're applying appropriate rigor to our software development process.
- Develop an understanding of our users to build and measure features which help them better understand and improve their finances.
ABOUT YOU 🦄
- You have 5+ years of professional experience working with some combination of Node/TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and Postgres (or similar relational database).
- You're both a student and a teacher, continually seeking to grow as an engineer and help those around you grow as well.
- You're not just interested in what you're building, but also why you're building it. You want to see the bigger picture of how the software you're building is benefitting our users.
- Experience with our stack (TypeScript, React Native, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
- You understand observability and enjoy digging into the details to solve performance and user experience issues.
- You thrive in a growing organization, and are not afraid of a challenging problem. In fact, you confront problems head on and take the lead on the solution.
