About the Role:

The Presales Security Architect provides education, guidance and thought leadership on emerging security technologies to regional clients. The Security Architect will be responsible for a broad set of knowledge across enterprise security solutions and should have a strong understanding of how technology enables businesses to develop strategies and meet objectives. Working together with regional sales teams, the Security Architect will seek to understand customer needs, develop solutions to exceed customer expectations, demonstrate the value of the proposed solution, assist with architectural integration design, and support the customer throughout the relationship lifecycle. This role will focus on strategic accounts in the Southwest Region with the purpose of building deep relationships, gaining trust and enabling client success.

What You’ll Do:

• Partner with regional sales team to execute comprehensive cybersecurity solutions that support business needs and objectives in complex environments for our clients
• Create technical roadmaps, project plans, requirements, designs, and implementation plans in various security architecture and engineering solutions
• Participate in business requirement gathering sessions, gathering user data requirements, understanding the user requirements, and assisting in the reconciliation of technical and business requirements as they relate to security
• Support prospects through RFP/RFI lifecycles, including assisting with defining requirements and facilitating responses.
• Support prospects through POC lifecycles, including defining Test Plans and Success Criteria
• Own successful implementation of sold solutions by ensuring smooth transition of designed solutions to the delivery team and remain engaged with the client while becoming a “thought leader” for the next opportunity
• Ensure that a quality solution is delivered in a timely manner, within budget, and to our client's satisfaction
• Communicate Trace3’s value proposition to varying technical and non-technical clients, including executive ''C'' level management, VP, and Director levels, and end-users
• Establish strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers in client organizations
• Collaborate with Sales and Account Management team to develop sales playbooks outlining strategies for driving high value into strategic accounts
• Contribute to the development of internal best practices as well as new innovative consulting services offerings that we can take to market
• Contribute to Trace3’s presence and brand in the Security community

Qualifications & Interests:

• A minimum of 8-10 years’ working experience as a Security Architect

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferred

• Prior experience working for a Consulting or Technology company
• CISSP or other relevant industry certifications preferred
• Deep experience with security software solutions like firewall, intrusion prevention, encryption, data leak prevention, and data protection
• An understanding of business environments and challenges of IT operations in the typical corporation
• Strong experience designing technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies
• Knowledge and familiarity with adjacent technology areas including Cloud, Data Intelligence, and IoT
• Excellent presentation skills; able to comfortably communicate and present in front of C-Level Executives, VPs and Directors
• Strong understanding of how clients use technology to meet business objectives
• Familiarity with the local district markets
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to work well with people from many different disciplines

Aligned to Trace3’s Central Region and working closely with the corporate Security Solutions practice, this individual will play a pivotal role in shaping client outcomes, driving pipeline growth, and contributing to Trace3’s go-to-market success.

This senior-level role blends deep technical mastery in cybersecurity architecture with the business acumen to influence executive security strategy, design resilient solutions, and connect security decisions to business risk and value. The ideal candidate moves effortlessly between whiteboarding a modern security solution, presenting a resilience roadmap to executives, and helping regional sales teams capture and advance opportunities.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Serve as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to clients, guiding strategy and solution architecture through consultative, outcome-based engagement.
• Lead client discovery and assessment sessions to capture business requirements, define success criteria, and translate needs into actionable solution recommendations.
• Evaluate cybersecurity architectures for feasibility, scalability, risk, and alignment with organizational goals.
• Design and recommend cybersecurity solutions across client environments (Endpoint Security (EDR/XDR), Email Security, DLP, Cloud Security (DSPM/CSPM), IAM)
• Develop and deliver executive-ready presentations, proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and technical documentation that clearly communicate Trace3’s value and differentiation.

• Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, and Data teams to design converged solutions that span Trace3’s broader technology portfolio.
• Partner with the Security Solutions practice to refine GTM strategy, offerings, and practice positioning for the Central region.
• Drive pipeline creation and growth through proactive client engagement, opportunity qualification, and strategic pursuit support.
• Build and maintain referenceable client relationships, ensuring long-term trust and measurable outcomes.
• Lead workshops, demos, proofs-of-value (POVs), rapid assessments and thought leadership sessions to educate and inspire clients.
• Provide mentorship and enablement to regional architects, advisors, and account teams to elevate technical competency and sales effectiveness.
• Contribute to Trace3’s market presence through public speaking, events, and content development that reinforce thought leadership.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity with at least 3–5 years in a pre-sales, client advisory, or consulting capacity.
• Proven ability to evaluate, modernize, and architect enterprise security solutions across on-prem and cloud environments (e.g., EDR/XDR, email security, DLP, IAM, cloud security).
• Hands-on proficiency with modern security, such as leading EDR/XDR, email security, DLP, IAM, and cloud security platforms (CSPM/DSPM/CNAPP) or similar.
• Strong understanding of and adjacent technology domains (Cloud, Infrastructure, and data).
• Demonstrated success driving pipeline and supporting sales cycles from opportunity qualification and solution design through proposal, presentation, and closure.
• Exceptional executive communication, storytelling, and relationship-building
• Experience creating high-quality deliverables, including architecture diagrams, proposals, and Statements of Work.
• Strong business acumen and ability to connect security investments to tangible business outcomes and ROI.
• Prior experience working for a consulting or technology organization in a client-facing capacity.
