You’re joining at a pivotal moment in The Trade Desk’s growth across ANZ and the wider APAC region, stepping into a newly established, high-growth function 'Growth Team’ specifically tasked to identify, sign and onboard high potential new business opportunities. designed to unlock a significant new commercial growth engine.   

As a new team, you’ll support the SVP – Growth to lay the foundations for sustained success, building out systems, processes and ways of working that accelerate the acquisition and on ramp of New Business.

What you’ll do 

• PIPELINE DEVELOPMENT: Build and cultivate a deep pipeline of high value prospects and strategic relationships with commercial and contract leads across advertising clients. 
• RESPONSE TO BRIEF: Lead RFP responses end-to-end, including qualification, strategy development, commercial structuring, contract negotiation and execution 
• ACCELERATE SALES PIPELINE: Think creatively, unblock problems and build strong cross-functional relationships across The Trade Desk to mobilise internal expertise that keeps deals moving forward.  
• SUPPORT CLIENT ONBOARDING: Work in partnership with Client Services team to set new business up for success post execution of the MSA. Execute a high-quality discovery process to deeply understand client needs, setting new advertisers up for accelerated onboarding through tailored support and solutions. 
• THOUGHT LEADERSHIP: Position The Trade Desk as a thought leader at the forefront of data driven advertising, and leverage that positioning to enhance new client prospecting.  
• LEAD MANAGEMENT: Effectively support The Trade Desk’s lead management process, qualifying leads and identifying the optimal support model to onboard new business either via a direct partnership or via a third party reseller  
• Clearly articulate The Trade Desk’s media buying philosophy and platform value, tailoring narratives to each client’s priorities 
• Partner closely with global Sales, Client Services, and Trading teams to grow and scale a focused portfolio of accounts  
• Identify and convert strategic upsell opportunities by deeply understanding client needs and mapping them to platform capabilities  
• Collaborate with product, marketing, and revenue teams to continuously optimise performance against company goals  

What you bring to the table

• Proven ability to build and close complex, senior-level commercial deals  
• Established relationships with decision-makers across major advertisers  
• Experience building annual business plans, leading QBRs, and driving structured account growth  
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and quantitative capability  
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders  
• Highly collaborative, able to align cross-functional teams toward shared outcomes

The Opportunity 

The Melbourne Independent Agency team—one of the fastest‑growing parts of our business—is looking for a Trading Specialist to strengthen and grow key client relationships. Working closely with Account Management and Business Development, the Trading teams plays a critical role in shaping strategic recommendations that drive client retention and business growth.  

You’ll be the platform expert clients rely on for campaign performance and pacing recommendations. You’ll get to know the Trade Desk’s platform inside and out and become a trusted consultant to your clients to drive the best performance.  

What You'll Do 

• Collaborate with both Account Management and Business Development teams to help drive performance and growth across your client portfolio 
• Become an expert on our revolutionary new platform: Kokai 
• Troubleshoot campaign setup and performance issues to ensure smooth delivery and optimal performance 
• Provide thoughtful, actionable feedback to Product Managers to help shape and improve Kokai 
• Ability to transform large data sets into clear insights and recommendations   
• Present data, insights, and recommendations confidently to client stakeholders 
• Build strong, trusted relationships with clients to understand their needs and drive business outcomes 
• Support agency traders and planners to set up campaigns, optimise delivery, and ensure budgets are delivered while exceeding performance goals 
• Serve as a platform expert who can consult and educate clients on new product updates, platform best practices, and broader industry developments 

What You Bring to the Table 

• 3+ experience in digital advertising & client facing roles 
• Technical background, ideally gained within a DSP, SSP, online publisher, agency, MarTech provider or other online advertising role    
• Confidence managing client relationships and guiding stakeholders through performance conversations  
• Strong ability to translate complex topics into clear explanations for agency and internal stakeholders  
• Ability to transform large data sets into clear insights and recommendations  
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with an ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment 
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise client asks as well as long term projects 
• High attention to detail & process-driven approach to delivering quality work 
• A results‑driven approach, consistently looking for ways to improve performance and efficiency—including through the use of AI and emerging tools

What you’ll do: 

• Spearhead strategy development to ensure clients stay competitive in key areas including first-party data management and activation, CTV consolidation and retail measurement 
• Lead data-driven conversations utilising the platform and custom reporting to provide insights and tell client-relevant stories to provide a full picture of advertising’s impact on business results 
• Consult with clients on their campaign goals and strategies to ensure they are maximising the value The Trade Desk’s platform provides 
• Operate as a power user of The Trade Desk’s UI and empower clients to also become power users to most effectively plan, execute, optimise and build on successful advertising campaigns 
• Collaborate with Account Management and Sales Executives to educate your clients, grow your portfolio of business and ensure buyers are up to date on The Trade Desk’s constantly evolving suite of products and solutions 
• Build and own key relationships with client planning, trading and analytical teams. We empower our clients to be self-service, and you will drive that capability, confidence and independence within our clients. 
• Troubleshoot advanced technical problems including performance issues, measurement discrepancies and constrained targeting 
• Constantly seek to improve our processes & people – through developing & influencing best practices within Client Services, collaborating with Product Marketing to develop effective training collateral and customer facing guides, and training and onboarding new teammates

Who you are: 

• 6+ years of consultative, client-facing work in ad tech (DSP experience is a plus!), digital marketing, or other data-heavy industries 
• Passionate about solving client challenges and going above & beyond their service expectations  
• Eager to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment that requires self-driven education and improvement 
• Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to distil complex, data-heavy information into simple but powerful stories and insights 
• Strong interest in learning the underlying mechanics of a platform and the ability to act as a conduit between clients and product teams to consistently improve TTD’s platform over time 
• Confident presenting in front of clients and peers 
• Comfortable with cross-functional collaboration with the ability to navigate ambiguous and complex problems and situations 
• Effective time management skills, especially the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines 
• Advanced MS Excel skills and the ability to efficiently wrangle extremely large data sets

The Opportunity

You’ll manage a portfolio of independent agency accounts, uncover new opportunities, and translate data and insights into clear, strategic recommendations. Your days will consist of troubleshooting platform challenges, shaping campaign and planning strategy, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver exceptional customer service. 

What You'll Do 

• Manage and grow a portfolio of clients 
• Partner closely with the Trading team to grow existing portfolio and support the seamless onboarding of new customers 
• Collaborate with the Business Development team to uncover opportunities to grow current accounts 
• Become an expert on The Trade Desk’s platform and products, providing insights and best practice recommendations to to improve campaigns 
• Provide ongoing client training as new platform features and products emerge 
• Work with Product Management to help define features and drive enhancements to The Trade Desk platform 
• Create training, best practices, and sales materials
