Overview: 

The Deputy Fire Life Safety Director/Security Officer III position is responsible for managing tenants and guest access to a Durst Commercial property. Lobby security officers are often the first point of contact for visitors entering the building. They must maintain control of the lobby portal and not allow any unauthorized entries to the facilities. They are expected to manage all inquiries in a professional and courteous manner, follow all security protocols for people and packages entering the building, and maintain the functionality of the lobby desk area.

We are seeking a DFSD/Security Officer III position to be based at One World Trade Center, 285 Fulton St.

Shift: 8am-4pm Friday-Tuesday (Wednesday and Thursday Off)

Salary: $32.048 per hour.

Overtime: $48.07 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Processing all tenants and visitors entering the building, including:
  • Requesting and checking government issued ID.
  •  Searching visitor database to verify visitor pre-registration.
  • Contacting tenants to verify visitors who are not pre-registered.
  •  Capturing visitor photo, entering visitor information into the access control database, and printing visitor day passes.
• Maintaining printer and computers in lobby area used for visitor access processing.
•  Directing visitors carrying large packages or items to the loading dock or other appropriate area for x-ray scanning.
•  Checking packages that are being removed from the premises and ensuring proper documentation is provided.
•  Monitoring Class E fire command station.
•  Making announcements over public address system.
•  Assisting in conducting fire drills.

Qualifications:

• •  Current New York State Security Guard License required
  • Current FSD Certification to assist Life Safety functions F/89 or current Z/50 and able to pass certification for F/89 within two test attempts
  •  Current AED/CPR/First Aid Certification

Overview:

The Security Officer will work closely with Security Team Leaders to maintain a safe and secure environment for our employees, tenants, and visitors.  

Current pay rate is $21.20 per hour. Additionally, this position would be eligible for overtime for all hours actually worked, consistent with the Local 32BJ Collective Bargaining Agreement. The overtime rate is $31.80 per hour. Please note that wages are subject to tax withholdings and other applicable deductions.

This position will have midweek days off.

Salary is $22.20 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Security Officers will be required to execute a number of comprehensive and integrated security measures and countermeasures and must be able to adapt physically to the changing needs and priorities of the Security Organization.
• Security posts may vary and may include exposure to varying weather conditions.

• Successful candidates will have earned their high school diplomas or equivalent. College level course coursework is a plus
• Must possess a valid New York State Security Guard License (8 & 16 hours)

Overview:

The Security Manager will collaborate with the Director of Security to ensure the safety of employees, tenants and visitors throughout the organization. He/she will identify security initiatives and work to constantly update security guidelines and procedures. The Security Manager will maintain oversight for security supervisors, as well as, security officers and will physically patrol portfolio properties ensuring the safety of portfolio buildings and tenants. Further, the Security Manager will assist in the management of company response to natural and manmade disasters.

The following shift is available: 

• 3pm -11pm, Regular days off (RDO) TBD

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Sr. Security Manager in setting goals and planning for the future
• Work to communicate physical and technical security strategies to company employees
• Ensure the appropriate staffing and schedules for areas under their supervision
• Respond expeditiously to calls of security breaches and other incidents made by building tenants, company employees and/or other staff
• Collaborate with senior management to maintain best practices with respect to security policies and procedures and document disciplinary matters, as appropriate;
• Liaise with government agencies and area law enforcement entities to ensure the safety of properties under TDO management control;
• Provide leadership, direction, guidance and training to Security Guards under their supervision.
• Manage additional responsibilities within our security organization as necessary.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the ability to articulate area security issues, documenting both short-term plans and long-term strategy. He/she will have a demonstrated understanding of physical security strategies, policies, principles, procedures, and standards. Further, the successful candidate will have the ability to think critically through the intricacies of complex situations. Finally, he/she will demonstrate technical knowledge and experience in defining access control policies and governance, asset protection best practices, business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Must possess a HR-218 Certification, NYS Armed Guard License, and a Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License at the time of hire
• Must hold an active NYC Unrestricted Concealed Carry Handgun License or have the ability to obtain one
• Able to obtain certifications in Basic First Aid, CPR and AED.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, or a related field or equivalent experience
• 15 years of relevant work experience in law enforcement and/or security operations with at least five years of experience in a managerial capacity

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 (hourly rate is $36.06/hour - $45.67/hour)

Responsibilities: 

• Empty wastebaskets by thoroughly damp wiping in/out. Collected rubbish must be placed in designated area for removal.
• Dust and wipe clean all furniture (vertical and horizontal surfaces), equipment, telephones, and windowsills.
• Dust baseboards, chair rails, picture frames, and doors within reach.
• Remove finger marks and smudges from all office entrance doors, light switches, door frames and all interior glass (except windows).
• Vacuum all carpeted areas, sweep and/or damp mop all hard floor surfaces nightly.
• Dust all doors and ventilating louvers within reach.
• Maintain janitor closet to standard level and ensure that all assigned equipment is clean.
• Turn off all lights and secure all doors that are scheduled to be locked upon completion of cleaning.
• Report to your immediate supervisor of anything that not working properly or malfunctioning
