About the team

The Network Partnerships team sits within the Partnerships organization and is a key component of Stripe’s success. Our team is responsible for developing and managing relationships with critical partners, such as Visa, Mastercard and American Express, which are fundamental to the success of Stripe’s product strategy and delivering new capabilities to Stripe users.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire, and scale a high-performing team managing Stripe’s Network partnerships globally, actively driving the retention of top talent while navigating complex regional nuances and varying market demands across all geographies.
• Architect and socialize long-term partnership strategies, acting as the primary catalyst for organizational alignment. Rather than making siloed decisions, focus on aligning the Leadership Team (LT), Go-To-Market (GTM) organizations, and product teams around a shared, multi-year strategic direction.
• Balance long-term thinking with a bias for execution. Translate high-level strategy into actionable, pragmatic "first moves" and oversee the seamless execution of joint initiatives and new global offerings.
• Establish operational rigor and robust processes to ensure best-in-class partner and deal management rooted in milestone tracking, KPIs, and a portfolio of mutual interests.
• Drive cross-functional change management by leading with context and collaboration. Exercise executive presence to navigate complex organizational dynamics, strategic tradeoffs, and maintain oversight across internal stakeholders (risk, compliance, product, engineering, treasury, GTM, and regional teams), establishing a clear hierarchy of priorities that balances bold innovation with a deep respect for system complexity.
• Represent Stripe at industry events, forging close relationships with senior stakeholders, and championing Stripe’s value proposition across all global markets.

Minimum requirements

• 15+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, corporate development, or a related field, with a significant portion spent in senior executive leadership roles managing a global scope.
• 10+ years of deep domain experience related to payments or card networks globally, demonstrating an expert-level understanding of regional network economics, cross-border complexities, and alternative payment methods.
• Demonstrated executive presence and a highly collaborative approach, acting as a master orchestrator who excels at engaging, influencing, and aligning detail-oriented Leadership Team (LT) members rather than relying on top-down decision-making.
• 5+ years of experience leading and inspiring distributed global teams, with a proven track record of retaining high performers, overseeing complex cross-functional initiatives, and adapting strategies to local market demands.
• Proven ability to partner closely with Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to ensure partnership strategies directly support revenue growth, merchant adoption, and overall commercial success.
• Exceptional negotiation skills and leverage identification, with a history of expanding acceptance, launching new payment methods, and closing highly complex, multi-region commercial deals.
• Experience working in product-centric environments, successfully balancing an ambitious long-term vision with the operational realities of executing across internal and external dependencies.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build consensus and navigate organizational dynamics at the highest levels of the company (C-suite and LT), both internally and externally.

About the team

The Risk Partnerships team is an essential part of Stripe’s Global Partnerships organization. Our team is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key partner banks to manage risk for Stripe’s business activities. These banking partnerships are essential to enable Stripe to accept and make payments, provide credit, move & store money and develop new products and solutions to meet our users’ needs. We work across a broad range of risk and compliance topics including; credit, fraud, regulatory, financial crime, reputational, product and operational risks.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a new member to join our team to work with key banking partners across North America who support Stripe with BIN Sponsorship across Merchant Acquiring and Card Issuing, and have experience of managing risk across money transmission.

Risk management is a critical part of managing these important relationships, and you will require a broad understanding of risk disciplines across merchant acquiring and banking. You will be leading activities to improve the risk management interactions between Stripe and it’s partners, managing key aspects of the partner relationship, and executing on high-impact initiatives. 

You will closely manage important stakeholders both internally and externally to set objectives, coordinate priorities and drive execution. Internally you will closely coordinate with product and engineering teams, as well as cross-functional stakeholders including Risk, Fraud, Financial Crime & Supportability, Operations, Legal and Finance, Risk. Externally, with Partners you will be working closely with Risk & Compliance teams including senior management.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk-focused initiatives in collaboration with global financial partners (banks, networks, payment methods) to:
  • Foster new business opportunities and user verticals
  • Innovate on shared risk methodologies
  • Establish and maintain compliance with agreed risk appetites
• Oversee and maintain the health of relationships with key risk counterparts at partner banks
• Develop and manage projects and initiatives that support strong partner relationships regarding risk
• Deliver business and policy recommendations that inform our risk posture
• Act as a representative and negotiator of our risk approach to banking partners
• Enhance existing and develop new partner-facing risk management capabilities
• Lead risk-related partnership and product discussions with banking partners to align on risk approaches and strategies
• You will optimize existing partner-facing risk management capabilities and build new ones.
• Identify and pursue business opportunities by creating innovative risk-aware solutions that expand our product and user base through banking partnerships

Minimum requirements

• 10+ years experience in risk-related role at a bank or merchant acquirer, or a role requiring deep knowledge of risk and compliance issues
• 5+ years of experience in risk management at a bank or merchant acquirer
• 2+ years of experience improving processes and scaling solutions
• Ability to represent Stripe on risk, compliance, and product issues with banking partners to maintain positive relationships
• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills (written and verbal) to drive understanding, collaboration, and issue resolution
• Proven stakeholder management skills, including navigating difficult situations, negotiating timelines, and influencing stakeholders across organizations and borders
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to thrive in uncertain and ambiguous environments

Preferred qualifications

• Experience of financial crime programmes including; KYC/B, AML, Sanctions and Terrorist Financing, with a practical knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations
• Strong understanding of the complex risks that are present when managing a merchant acquiring business, including the management of high risk sectors
• Market experience across America and Canada, with an understanding of how current and future regulations will impact Stripe and it’s banking partners
• Experience of leveraging technology to support the development and embedment of scalable risk and operational processes

Our team is responsible for developing and executing on high-impact product partnership initiatives and strategies with our card network partners, such as Visa, Mastercard and American Express. This team’s work is fundamental to driving Stripe’s product strategy and delivering new capabilities to Stripe users, such as agentic commerce and stablecoin pilots.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a new member to join our team to develop and execute on high-impact initiatives and strategies with our card network partners. As part of the role, you will work closely with Product to support the development of new capabilities for Stripe users and drive strategy for partnering with the card networks. This includes developing partner requirements, leading relationships with partners to execute on these requirements, and negotiating and managing critical projects with global partners to support our growing business.

The role will also require close coordination internally with cross-functional teams including Product as aforementioned plus Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Risk and externally with key partner stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Drive new product partnership innovation with Stripe’s most critical card network partners, with a focus on executing joint initiatives and launching new offerings that benefit Stripe users
• Negotiate commercial agreements with card network partners that impact Stripe and its users’ cost of payments acceptance
• Leverage industry knowledge to craft thoughtful partnership and product strategies, and execute deals and initiatives that support Stripe’s strategy 
• Influence both internal product teams and external stakeholders to modify or build innovative solutions that fit the modern day payments landscape and deliver more secure yet seamless merchant and consumer experiences
• Gather inputs from and coordinate with internal cross-functional stakeholders (including risk, compliance, product, engineering, treasury) to drive creation and execution of product partnership strategy
• Reconcile competing priorities to drive creative solutions and commitment to a shared goal across multiple stakeholders
• Ensure sound execution of day-to-day operations and adherence to risk and compliance obligations
• Represent Stripe at partner and industry events, building close personal relationships with key partner stakeholders

What you’ll do

We are looking for a US or Canada-based candidate to join our team to lead one of Stripe’s critical network partnerships.  The candidate will manage overall partner health, build internal strategy and business cases, drive deal negotiation and execution, and coordinate priorities with internal teams and external partners. The role requires close coordination with leadership, product and engineering teams, as well as cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Finance, Risk, etc., and with external partners’ leaders and senior executives.  

This is a high-impact individual contributor role that requires the ability to rally cross-functional teams and flex “general manager” skills to shepherd a meaningful portion of Stripe’s P&L.

Responsibilities

• Manage one of Stripe’s most critical U.S. Network partnerships, with a focus on driving the execution of joint initiatives and launching new offerings to benefit Stripe users
• Leverage industry knowledge to craft thoughtful long-term partnership and product strategies, and execute deals and initiatives that support Stripe’s strategy 
• Use data to drive strategy and decisions
• Coordinate with internal cross-functional stakeholders (including risk, compliance, product, engineering, treasury and global partner managers) to drive creation and execution of partner strategy
• Develop, manage and report on strategic plans, key negotiation/expansion opportunities and overall partner health with a multi-year vision in mind
• Juggle and reconcile competing priorities to drive creative solutions and commitment to a shared goal across multiple stakeholders
• Coordinate and prioritize a large amount of activities and initiatives that compete for scarce resources to drive best outcomes for our users and Stripe

• Experience running big, complex, cross-functional projects
