The role:

The Marketing Data Science (MDS) team is seeking an experienced Machine Learning professional to join the group. This team is essential for supporting SoFi's Marketing organization by providing data-driven decision-making through rigorous analytics, modeling, experimentation, and measurement.

The primary responsibility of this role is to build and scale machine learning models that drive marketing and growth across SoFi's product suite. The focus will be on developing predictive models for key areas: acquisition, conversion, retention, and customer lifetime value (LTV), utilizing behavioral, transactional, and credit data. This role requires strong collaboration across teams to identify the business needs, manage the end-to-end model development cycle, implement the model in production, and monitor performance, while maintaining strict compliance with all regulatory standards.

What you’ll do: 

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to optimize customer acquisition, onboarding, and lifecycle engagement across financial products (e.g., loans, credit cards, money, invest, crypto and etc).
• Build predictive models for critical business outcomes, including Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), conversion propensity, cross-sell/upsell effectiveness, and retention across various channels (e.g., direct mail, email, in-app, Operations).
• Leverage structured and unstructured data (e.g., behavioral signals, transaction data, credit attributes) to drive audience segmentation and personalization at scale. Develop and maintain a robust feature store to accelerate the end-to-end model development lifecycle.
• Build experimentation frameworks to support A/B testing and measure the incremental business impact of the models. Work with the other team members to incorporate the models in marketing/campaign strategies.
• Collaborate with Fair Lending (FL) and Model Risk Management (MRM) to ensure the models and targeting strategies adhere to fair lending laws, privacy regulations, and responsible marketing practices.
• Support the efficient scoring and implementation of models through both real-time and batch processes, ensuring the timely availability of scores for marketing execution and deep analytics.
• Monitor model performance with a focus on business outcomes (conversion, retention, revenue, risk-adjusted returns) and continuously iterate based on insights.
• Partner closely with team members within MDS and key business stakeholders on defining business requirements, prioritizing the model pipeline, providing development updates, and monitoring performance.
• Stay at the forefront of modeling, data, and AI innovations to support scalable marketing growth in financial services.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, or a quantitative field required; Master's degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in machine learning, data science or applied AI, ideally in marketing, fintech, or consumer tech.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Familiarity with ML governance, model monitoring, and compliance frameworks (MRM, Fair Lending, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI application development preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with experimentation and hypothesis testing.

The role

SoFi is seeking an analytical and highly effective operator to join the Marketing organization as the business operations lead for SIPS (Save, Invest, Protect, Spend), Member, and Crypto. This collection of products are designed to help our members spend less than they make and invest the rest, thereby achieving financial independence.  This role will be pivotal in driving the operating cadence of the team, improving planning and reporting rigor, and enabling decision-making.

The Manager, Marketing Business Operations will work across SIPS, Member, and Crypto to help run the growth, engagement & retention marketing strategies that are critical to the success of the business, drive the operating model for new innovation, and strengthen culture. The Manager will serve as a thought partner to the VP, Product Marketing & the broader leadership team, shape priorities, translate complex inputs into clear recommendations, move across strategy development & marketing execution, and create artefacts that support planning & meeting preparation.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Marketing Business Operations and is aligned to the VP, Product Marketing across each business unit. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of leading cross-functional work and solving complex, ambiguous problems across teams.

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Modeling & AI Enablement to lead the Modeling and AI Enablement function within Marketing Data Science (MDS). This role is a critical leadership position responsible for building model-driven competitive advantage and accelerating enterprise AI adoption across Marketing, Strategy, and Decision Sciences..

You will set the vision and execution roadmap for AI-enabled modeling, automation, and decisioning—while developing leaders and systems that empower every MDS lead and practitioner to effectively adopt and scale AI.

This role blends people leadership, technical strategy, and cross-functional influence, partnering closely with Engineering, Marketing Technology, Risk, Governance, and Executive stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

Modeling & AI Strategy Leadership

• Own the modeling and AI enablement strategy for MDS, aligning with SoFi’s broader AI, marketing, and growth priorities.
• Define and deliver a multi-year roadmap for predictive, generative, and decisioning models that drive measurable business impact.
• Identify and incubate next-generation AI capabilities (LLMs, agent-based workflows, automation frameworks) that create durable competitive advantage.

AI Enablement & Platform Development

• Lead the development of AI-powered tools, frameworks, and platforms that scale productivity for data scientists, analysts, and marketers.
• Oversee the build and deployment of internal LLM applications, model-assisted analytics, intelligent experimentation tools, and automated reporting solutions.
• Partner with Data Engineering and Marketing Technology to ensure AI solutions are production-grade, scalable, and well-integrated into existing ecosystems.

Model Development & Decisioning

• Guide the design, deployment, and monitoring of predictive and optimization models across acquisition, lifecycle, personalization, and measurement.
• Ensure modeling best practices across experimentation, causal inference, and performance measurement.
• Establish robust model evaluation, monitoring, and lifecycle management standards.

Governance, Risk & Responsible AI

• Serve as a senior point of contact for AI governance, working with MRM, Fair Lending, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and the AI Committee.
• Drive responsible AI adoption through standardized documentation, validation, and compliance workflows.
• Ensure models and AI systems meet regulatory, ethical, and risk management standards.

People Leadership & AI Evangelism

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data scientists and AI practitioners.
• Elevate the AI maturity of the broader MSD organization through enablement sessions, playbooks, and hands-on guidance.
• Act as a trusted advisor to MSD and Marketing leaders, translating complex AI capabilities into clear business value.

What you’ll need:

• 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI, ideally in marketing, fintech, or consumer tech; and with at least 2+ years of experience of managing/leading people
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI application development in enterprise settings.
• Proven record of building scalable, automated data systems or AI-enabled applications for marketing or analytics teams.
• Familiarity with ML governance, model monitoring, and compliance frameworks (MRM, Fair Lending, etc.) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to translate technical work into business impact.
• Intellectual curiosity and aptitude to pick up new technical skills
