Job Summary:
As a Staff Software Engineer, AI you will be a key architect in SmithRx’s mission to build a next-generation, AI-native pharmacy benefits platform. This is not a traditional MLE role; we are looking for a product-focused fungible engineer who can bridge the gap between cutting-edge LLM capabilities and reliable, production-grade software. You will design systems that leverage the power of AI while maintaining the deterministic rigor required for healthcare and financial transactions. You will advocate for engineering best practices/methodologies, coding standards and large-scale system design perspectives to our team. We need our engineers to be versatile and driven, display leadership and ownership qualities, and be enthusiastic to take on new challenges as we continue to push technology forward.
What you will do:
- Focus on architecting system; discovering, designing, developing and maintaining SmithRx product features using a varied technology stack such as Golang, JavaScript/Typescript, Node, GraphQL, and SQL (amongst others), while leveraging full CI and CD to iterate quickly
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to translate requirements into high-quality, AI-native scalable software, while providing scope and risk assessments through comprehensive technical design documentation.
- Be the Stochastic/Deterministic Bridge: Build the "safety rails" around LLMs, creating deterministic software systems that effectively manage, validate, and wrap the stochastic nature of AI models to ensure 100% accuracy in healthcare data.
- Continually apply and enforce software development best practices, design patterns, testing, automation, tools and technologies by adoption of emerging AI technologies like Claude-code, Copilot or aikes.
- Leverage AWS technologies, like Lambda, Managed Kafka, EKS to handle various types of jobs and batch processing
- Troubleshoot production issues by performing triages for issues that arise, assessing the impact, creating and executing a plan for short-term and long-term mitigation, and performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues.
- Foster a collaborative learning culture by mentoring junior engineers in both traditional backend best practices and emerging AI-native development patterns, while driving technical excellence through code reviews and the exploration of innovative technologies.
- Work with senior leadership to turn technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter
What you will bring to SmithRx:
- BS or advanced degree in computer science or applicable experience
- 8+ years of software development experience working on server-side applications, specifically around API servers, third party integrations and data processing
- Expertise in a compiled language such as GoLang or Java is required
- Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design, SQL tuning, and database monitoring is required
- Working knowledge of GraphQL APIs, CI and CD pipeline, AWS platform, Docker, and Kubernetes a plus
- Agentic Frameworks, MCP, LLM APIs (Anthropic/OpenAI), Prompt Engineering/Evals.
- Communication: A collaborative approach to engineering, capable of explaining technical trade-offs to stakeholders and mentoring a distributed team.

Job Summary:
We are looking for an Sr. Database Administrator who has hands-on experience designing and administering cloud-based Database systems. Additionally, this engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the data infrastructure, including maintenance, upgrades, monitoring, performance tuning, scaling, and query optimization. Our user base is currently doubling annually, and you would share the responsibility of orchestrating a reliable, sustainable, and scalable infrastructure.
What you will do:
- Manage and maintain our PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and Athena databases running on AWS Cloud, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Monitor the performance and overall health of our databases, proactively identifying and resolving the issues.
- Design and implement growth strategies for our databases, ensuring they can handle the rapidly increasing demands of our organization.
- Develop, implement and maintain very high security standards to protect our highly sensitive PHI data from both external and internal threats.
- Ensure compliance with various database privacy regulations and frameworks like HIPAA, SOC2 etc.
- Design and implement Business Continuity Plan(BCP) and Disaster Recovery(DR) Plan.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline to restore anonymized data from production to the lower environments.
- Work closely with the security team to develop comprehensive risk analysis and response for data infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development, architecture, and release teams providing architectural design recommendations to effectively adapt the database environment to support new platform features and capabilities.

- 5+ years of experience in Database Administration.
- BS or advanced degree in computer science or other related field.
- Experience working and managing SQL and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Redshift, DynamoDB, BigQuery, MongoDB, Cassandra and Snowflake
- Deep understanding of AWS Database services, especially AWS RDS, Aurora, Redshift, DynamoDB etc.
- Ability to use tools to identify bottlenecks or performance problems enabling query and schema optimization.
- Experience using modern monitoring tools like Cloudwatch, DataDog etc., and establishing metrics, monitoring, alarming and dashboards.

Our user base is currently doubling annually, and you would share the responsibility of orchestrating a reliable, sustainable, and scalable infrastructure.
What you will do:
- Help build and maintain a container based infrastructure that is elegant, redundant, scalable and compliant, and support the rest of the team doing the same.
- Be part of SmithRx Agile development team to deliver an end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management in a cloud environment.
- Gain a deep understanding of the challenges that SmithRx faces, technical and otherwise; collaborate with other teams to identify and carry out effective solutions.
- Work closely with our development team to develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in a reproducible and secure manner.
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and perform root cause analysis when necessary.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure that applications and services are built with scalability, reliability, and security in mind.

Job Summary:
As the Director of Project Management, you will be the primary architect of SmithRx’s Operational Operating System. This is not a traditional "admin" PMO role; we are looking for a systems-thinking leader who can bridge the gap between complex roadmaps and executive-level strategic outcomes. You will evolve the Project Management function into a high-maturity, directive function that drives decision durability and portfolio integrity across the entire enterprise.
You will design the governance frameworks that allow SmithRx to scale, leveraging Stage-Gate methodologies to ensure our most ambitious initiatives and migrations maintain the deterministic rigor required for healthcare and financial transactions. You will be the guardian of "invisible work," advocating for operational stability and technical debt remediation as first-class citizens in our portfolio.
We need a leader who is versatile and driven, capable of translating 50+ concurrent workstreams into a singular, actionable executive narrative. You will display extreme ownership, identifying "information dark spots" and eliminating delivery bottlenecks before they impact our members. At SmithRx, you won't just track the roadmap; you will build the engine that executes it.
What you will do:
1. Governance & Stage-Gate Leadership
- Own the Lifecycle: Define and enforce a unified Stage-Gate process (e.g., Intake → Discovery → Alignment → Execution → Post-Launch).
- Gatekeeping: Ensure clear entry/exit criteria and decision frameworks at each gate to minimize "scope churn" and rework.

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will play a key role in all stages of the engineering lifecycle—designing, building, testing, and maintaining the SmithRx product suite. We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist with expertise in generative AI as we continue to expand. In this key role, you will drive AI innovation and lead the implementation of AI-powered solutions. The position requires at least 5 years of experience in machine learning and AI development, with proven success leading AI initiatives. You will work with cross-functional leaders to deliver impactful AI solutions that directly influence our business outcomes.
What you will do:
As a member of the SmithRx Application Engineering and AI team, you will work customer facing as well as internal tooling that leverages AI to improve productivity and quality. You will work directly with software engineers, data engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts in the definition of new generative AI capabilities able to provide our members and internal organizations with the information they need to make proper decisions.
Qualified candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of the most common Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval Methods, know how to train and fine-tune LLMs, and design and implement LLM-powered agents and tools at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design Generative AI solutions, such as information retrieval and summary generation for support and operations organizations.
- Partner with Software Engineering teams to build and deploy GenAI applications.
- Ideate and explore opportunities to deploy GenAI technologies for customer-facing experiences
- Drive the adoption and scalability of Generative AI capabilities within SmithRx; advocacy on the technology and evangelize the use of GenAI.
What you will bring to SmithRx:
- 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, and AI development, with proven success leading AI initiatives
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Robotics or equivalent fields.
- Applied Machine Learning experience (regression and classification, supervised, and unsupervised learning).
- Strong mathematical background (linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics).
- Proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming.
- Strong experience working with machine learning and natural language processing techniques and tools.
- Strong experience using Generative AI models, with a good understanding of deep learning model classes such as GPT, VAE, and GANs, as well as their hyperparameters.
- Strong experience with retrieval methods e.g. using embeddings.
- Strong experience using key Python packages for data wrangling, machine learning and deep learning such as pandas, sklearn, TensorFlow, torch, transformers, LangChain, etc.
- Experience in Prompt Engineering and few-shot techniques to enhance LLM's performance on specific tasks.
- Experience with training and fine-tuning deep learning models, especially LLMs, and how to tune hyperparameters to ensure task generalization.
- Ability to drive a project and work both independently and within a cross-functional team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, able to articulate complex concepts with a non-technical audience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with embedding model training and retrieval method evaluation approaches.
- Experience with LLM architectures, adapters, Mixture of Experts (MoEs) pretraining and fine-tuning techniques.
- Experience with design, deployment, and evaluation of LLM-powered agents and tools and orchestration approaches.
- Experience with reinforcement learning approaches in the context of fine-tuning LLM outputs.
- Experience with time series analysis and multivariate time series modeling.

Job Summary:
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will play a key role in all stages of the engineering lifecycle—designing, building, testing, and maintaining the SmithRx internal tooling and frameworks suite. You will champion best practices, coding standards, and large-scale system design while bringing a forward-thinking mindset to the team. We are looking for versatile, self-driven engineers who demonstrate leadership, ownership, and a passion for tackling new challenges.
As part of the Tools and Frameworks team within Application Engineering, you will own the backend data and infrastructure for mission-critical shared services, including Authentication & Authorization, Audit-Trail tools, and our Internal File Processor. Success in this role requires a deep interest in systems architecture and developer productivity, as you will design resilient, scalable APIs and schemas intended for use across multiple domains.
Beyond core design and coding, you will partner closely with product engineering and security stakeholders to define technical requirements that uphold rigorous security and compliance standards. By building robust, reusable libraries and frameworks, you will streamline development for other teams while contributing to initiatives that enhance service availability and performance. To excel, you must become an expert in our core systems and their integration with consuming applications, directly supporting our mission to lower healthcare costs.
