Solutions Consultant - Central

Smartsheet is looking for a Solutions Consultant in Professional Services Delivery to act as a strategic partner for our customers, helping them navigate complex business challenges through an advisory-led approach to professional services. You will help customers rethink their business processes by designing and deploying capabilities that leverage modern automation and AI-native solutions.
You will lead several concurrent projects, moving beyond basic implementation to deeply understand a customer’s core objectives and deliver solutions that drive digital transformation and measurable organizational change. We are looking for a consultant who balances technical execution with a consultative mindset—someone who can manage the details of project delivery while partnering with account teams to identify new opportunities for customer growth and expansion.
You will report to the Manager, Consulting. This is a remote eligible position and you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is registered.
You Will:
- Be the Expert in the Room: Lead your customers and your cross functional peers through strong business and technical acumen by advising them on best practices that drive measurable value, advising customers to modernize and optimize their workflows across a variety of industries and use cases.
- Lead Transformational Engagements: Partner with customers to design and implement strategic solutions, leveraging a broad range of Smartsheet capabilities to drive organizational change and maximize long-term value.
- Design Modern Solutions: Lead in-depth discovery sessions to understand business challenges and design custom solutions that incorporate AI-native functionalities and best-in-class automation.
- Iterate and Build: Develop Smartsheet solutions through prototyping and iterative sprints, incorporating frequent customer feedback to ensure the final product meets complex business needs.
- Validate and Quality Test: Review solution designs through internal testing and facilitate user acceptance testing with stakeholders to ensure deliverable accuracy and depth.
- Manage Project Outcomes: Take full ownership of project delivery, including timeline, deliverables, scope, and budget, while taking a proactive approach to mitigating risks in partnership with the customer team, internal project team, and internal account team.
- Commit to Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay current on rapidly evolving industry trends and Smartsheet capabilities, maintaining an open mindset toward testing, learning, and sharing new delivery methodologies.
- Collaborate and Mentor: Partner with fellow consulting team members to share insights from customers and relevant industries and participate in the department’s mentor program both as a mentee and mentor.
- Partner on Expansion Opportunities: Identify product and services expansion opportunities, collaborating closely with Sales to influence account strategy and drive customer growth.
- Maintain Operational Standards: Consistently perform against individual and team KPIs, including target billable utilization, project margin targets, customer satisfaction ratings, and accurate data maintenance.

You Have:
- A minimum of 4–5 years of relevant experience in management or technology consulting.
- A strong willingness and track record of performing within a team environment.
- A proven ability to succeed in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments and adapt quickly as customer needs, tools, and industry trends evolve.
- Hands-on experience in the configuration and implementation of leading-edge, web-based SaaS applications.
- A strong interest in working with leading-edge technologies and a drive to deeply understand how Smartsheet’s evolving capabilities, such as AI and automation, solve diverse business challenges.
- Experience applying change management and business process optimization strategies to help diverse user bases adopt new ways of working.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical subjects to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with business process optimization and Agile project management methodologies.
- Ability to travel periodically (up to 40%) based on customer and business requirements.

Smartsheet is looking for a Solutions Architect to drive quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction within our Professional Services’ business by leading customer conversations and assisting customers with developing, building, testing and deploying solutions that leverage Smartsheet, the Smartsheet API and integrations between Smartsheet and other products. The right candidate will have a passion for working with leading edge, web-based technologies and a desire to deeply understand Smartsheet’s benefits, use cases, and business and technical elements.
As a Solutions Architect, you will work with Smartsheet customers and partners on engagements to convert business requirements into Smartsheet solutions. Within this role, you will be considered the Subject Matter Expert pertaining to advanced Smartsheet functionalities in order to propose solutions for use cases across different industries and business groups. The right candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and is motivated by both working independently and leading impactful customer conversations.
You will report to the Sr. Manager, Solution Architect. This is a remote eligible position and you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is registered.
You Will:
- Develop, build, test and deploy custom software solutions leveraging a wide array of Smartsheet product & third party APIs
- Lead technical consulting engagements that require custom software development by leading design sessions, defining technical requirements, and validating solution architecture against product best practices
- Design and document technical solutions aligned with client business objectives
- Serve as the Smartsheet subject matter expert (SME) on Smartsheet product capabilities and extensibility scenarios that leverage the API
- Manage all aspects of technical projects, including, but not limited to, the schedule, deliverables, deadlines and client relationships
- Drive the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements of a Smartsheet implementation
- Maintain a target billable utilization aligned to the role
- Provide feedback to our Product & Platform Engineering teams that inform product improvements and identify feature gaps
- Other duties as assigned
You Have:
- 3 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education
- Working experience with two or more of our primary languages (.Net, NodeJS, Python, Java, Ruby)
- Willing to travel periodically (up to 15%) based on customer and business need
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), with the ability to explain technical subjects to non-technical end user personnel in large enterprises
- Proven ability to drive projects from concept through completion with minimal guidance
- Customer facing experience
- Experience working with SaaS/IPaaS applications in an enterprise environment
- Understanding of systems architecture and ability to design scalable performance-driven solutions
- Understanding of key design patterns and large data volume best practices
- Knowledge of data integration and experience integrating SaaS applications with different business systems (ETL, CRM, business analytics, reporting, etc.)
- Bachelors in MIS, CIS, CS preferred but not required

- Determine solution feasibility and costing in support of our Sales team for new engagements including the drafting of customer SOWs
