About the Role
The Director of Indirect Procurement is a highly visible enterprise-wide leadership role responsible for managing approximately $240 million dollars in SimpliSafe’s spend. This high-impact position sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and strategy, with direct impact on the company’s bottom line and most important objectives.
This leadership role reports to the CFO and owns end-to-end indirect procurement strategy, from demand intake and sourcing through contract execution and ongoing supplier management, while also leading corporate real estate planning and lease negotiations. Success in this role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across the organization.
At SimpliSafe, Procurement operates as a strategic enabler, not a transactional function – an agile team focused on high-impact, high-visibility initiatives. The team delivers value through operational excellence, trusted business partnerships, expert category management, and a “make-it-happen” mindset.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of procurement experience and leadership, a high degree of financial acumen, intellectual curiosity, exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to influence change within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the enterprise indirect procurement strategy across a diverse set of categories, including SaaS, ML/AI, professional services, marketing/advertising, corporate real estate and insurance, contact center and monitoring center operations, IT and G&A.
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategy with business needs.
- Lead sourcing, negotiations, and contract lifecycle management to drive measurable cost savings, long range planning, and risk reduction.
- Maintain and enforce procurement policies, approval workflows, and spend governance.
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and savings tracking.
- Build and manage preferred supplier programs and performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, tools, and data visibility.
- Own corporate real estate strategy, including lease negotiations, renewals, and exits.
- Manage ongoing real estate budgets, CapEx planning and lease obligations.
- Partner with People and leadership on workplace strategy, hybrid work considerations, and future space needs.
- Manage CapEx buildouts and special projects.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on spend strategy, vendor risk, and real estate decisions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members and influence without authority across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with Legal on contracts, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Drive continuous improvement through data, benchmarking, and best practices.
Qualifications
- 8 - 10 years of experience in indirect procurement and strategic sourcing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role leading a team of procurement professionals.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings and operational improvements at scale.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing complex vendor portfolios and enterprise-level spend.
- Highly analytical with strong financial acumen.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or high-growth consumer companies.
- Familiarity with procurement tools, CLM systems, and spend analytics platforms (Coupa, Netsuite).
- Experience leading or building procurement functions.
- Bonus: solid understanding of corporate real estate fundamentals (leasing, renewals, facilities, brokers) and insurance.
- MBA or relevant master’s degree is a plus.

The target annual base pay range for this role is $171,000 to $250,000.
This target annual base pay range represents our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role. We use a market-based compensation approach to set our target annual base pay ranges and make adjustments annually. We carefully tailor individual compensation packages, including base pay, taking into consideration employees’ job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and other relevant business factors.

To support this mission, SimpliSafe is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Financial & Operations Planning individual to support the eCommerce and Customer Acquisition functions within the broader Go-To-Market (GTM) organization. This role will also provide supplemental support across G&A functions and play a key role in driving financial visibility, planning rigor, and strategic insight across some of the company’s key important growth levers.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly analytical, and brings a strong ability to partner cross-functionally. This role requires someone who can build scalable processes while also diving into the details to inform decision-making. In this role, you will contribute directly to shaping the financial strategy behind our customer acquisition and digital commerce investments, working closely with cross-functional partners and executive leadership as part of a collaborative and evolving Financial & Operations Planning team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with eCommerce and Acquisition teams to define, measure, and optimize financial performance across key growth channels
- Along with Financial & Operations Planning team, act as a trusted advisor to GTM stakeholders, providing data-driven insights to inform investment decisions and strategy
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly close processes for eCommerce and paid media
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate marketing efficiency, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and return on investment
- Drive accountability to financial targets by monitoring performance against budget and proactively recommending corrective actions
- Support pricing, promotional, and conversion optimization analyses in partnership with eCommerce teams
- Provide supplemental Financial & Operations Planning support for couple G&A functions, helping drive cost discipline and financial visibility
- Build and enhance reporting packages for senior leadership, including insights on growth drivers and performance trends
- Assist in preparation of materials for executive leadership, Board of Directors, and private equity stakeholders
- Ad hoc analyses as needed
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 4–7 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, preferably supporting eCommerce, marketing, or acquisition functions
- Experience in consumer, DTC, or eCommerce environments strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of marketing and acquisition metrics (e.g., CAC, LTV, ROAS) and their financial implications
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and operate as a strategic business partner
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with FP&A tools (e.g., Adaptive) and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset and strong attention to detail
- Collaborative team player with a desire to build and improve processes
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus
