About the role
Roku TV Technology SW team work closely Display , Picture Quality and NPI Team to enable new features for Roku TV. As Senior Software Engineer working on Video processing software, you will develop video post processing software , enable RokuTVs with new features, develop scalable solution for multiple Roku TV platforms. Be a team player and support on going Roku TV video processing projects and innovation projects for next generation Roku TVs.
What you will be doing
- Embedded/Linux Software Development
- Design, develop, and maintain software for Linux based TV system.

- Implement algorithms and solutions for video / image post processing enhancement
- System Integration and Optimization

- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Report progress and technical challenges to stakeholders.
We're excited if you have
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems development, preferably in the TV or related consumer electronics industry.
- Proficiency in Linux operating system internals, including device drivers, kernel modules, and user-space programming.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and scripting languages like Python or Shell.
- Background video/image post processing.
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces and protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, HDMI, etc. ).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Knowledge of SoC architectures used in multimedia devices is a plus.
- Experience in GPU/CPU acceleration for video processing is a plus.

About the team
We are the New Product Introduction team responsible for introducing new Roku TVs to the market. We work on everything required to bring a new product to market from concept phase to mass production. We work with vendors and channel partners along with various teams within Roku to make sure we can bring high quality products to our customers.
About the role
As a Automation QA Engineer in Test at Roku you will be responsible for developing the test automation for Roku’s products. You will be responsible for developing new tools to improve the team's productivity and enhancing a culture of continuous quality improvement throughout the software development lifecycle. You will be expected to be a self-starter, with endless curiosity, and the ability to think big along with a bias for action.
What you will be doing
- Utilize and integrate automated test tools, frameworks, systems, and libraries that validate correctness and monitor performance of Roku devices and services.
- Write automation tests, analyze/troubleshoot failures, track defects, drive resolution, verify fixes and communicate results to stakeholders
- Participating in conducting code reviews, specifically focusing on testability, robustness, and performance.
- Track and report test coverage across various firmware components
- Triage bugs reported by others, extending automated tests where possible to catch such defects in the future
We’re excited if you have
- 3+ years of experience in programming languages like Python.
- Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and frameworks such as Behave or Pytest-bdd.
- 2+ years of experience in developing and maintaining automated tests for embedded products.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience with Non-Functional Testing (Performance Testing, Stress Testing)
- Experience with continuous integration tools, CI/CD pipeline development.
- Familiar with Linux systems, version control(git) and test management tools (Jenkins, JIRA, etc.)
- Experience working in HDMI/HDCP, Audio, Video, Wireless Networks and Bluetooth technologies is a plus.
- Proficiency in using AI coding assistants (i.e: GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code) to accelerate the development of Python 3 automation scripts and unit tests.
- Generating and presenting detailed quantitative reports.

About the role
Roku is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to play an instrumental role in helping Roku continue its success by providing end-to-end business intelligence solutions that democratize data across the business. You will work closely with analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand business questions, write robust pipelines to create analytical data assets, and use visualization to create informative reports and dashboards that allow stakeholders to answer questions quickly and with confidence. You will become an expert in our data infrastructure and create/maintain pipelines that are critical to conducting robust analyses. What you will be doing
- Work directly with analysts and engineers to understand goals, gather requirements, and guide development of new data assets by producing robust feature guides

- Conduct UAT on new tables
- Liaise with data engineers to understand and communicate the impacts of underlying changes in the data and update dependent pipelines
- Identify and fill gaps among our data assets and key metrics
- Serve as the resident expert in understanding the nuance of our data infrastructure for the analytics team. You will be the go-to-person when questions arise around the correct dataset, proper joins, bugs, etc.
- Create reports, dashboards, visualizations, and self-service tools that help partners monitor business trends and key metrics
- Monitor key metrics and business processes to identify trends and uncover root causes that drive business impact

About the role

About the role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering (Wireless / Wi‑Fi) to lead our Wi‑Fi software organization in Taiwan. In this role, you will own the end‑to‑end software development and execution for Wi‑Fi connectivity across multiple Roku device lines, partnering closely with RF hardware, QA, SoC vendors, ODMs/JDMs, and US‑based engineering and product teams.
You will build and lead a high‑performance engineering team in Hsinchu that can diagnose complex wireless and networking issues across RF, SoC, Firmware, device drivers, and OS layers, and ship robust, high‑quality software into high‑volume consumer products. This role requires a leader who is equally comfortable strategizing at the system level and diving deep into technical details when needed.
What you will be doing
- Drive execution and contribute to the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth software roadmap for Roku devices, ensuring robust, high‑performance connectivity across diverse product lines and markets. This includes Wi-Fi and BT/BLE solutions.
- Lead, grow, and mentor a world‑class Wireless software engineering team in Hsinchu, including managers and senior/lead engineers.
- Drive end‑to‑end product development for wireless features: from early concept and architecture through bring‑up, validation, optimization, and mass production.
- Collaborate closely with RF, hardware, QA, and system teams to deliver best‑in‑class wireless performance (throughput, range, robustness, coexistence).
- Work directly with SoC vendors and ODMs/JDMs to define requirements, review designs for interoperability, ensure high‑quality driver and firmware deliveries, and resolve complex field or factory issues.
- Distinguish and triage issues across the stack – RF, baseband, firmware, drivers, operating system, applications, and manufacturing – and ensure the right teams are engaged for fast root cause and resolution.
- Define and enforce engineering best practices for Wi‑Fi/BT software: code quality, code review, design reviews, test strategy, performance benchmarks, and regression prevention.
- Partner with US‑based leaders in hardware, firmware, software, and product/program management to align on priorities, schedules, and deliverables.
- Drive team execution across multiple programs, building processes and organization structures that support multiple programs in parallel and continuous product iteration.
- Represent the Wireless software team in executive and cross‑functional forums, communicating risks, trade‑offs, and data‑driven recommendations.
We're excited if you have
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience in Wi‑Fi/BT technology and software development, including 802.11/802.15.1 protocols, MAC/PHY behavior, link‑level debugging, and performance optimization for consumer devices.
- Strong background in wireless connectivity software such as Wi‑Fi and BT/BLE drivers, firmware integration, host‑side stacks, or related embedded networking components.
- Experience working with SoC vendors and wireless chipset suppliers on feature definition, driver/firmware delivery, and joint debug of complex issues.
- Experience collaborating with ODMs/JDMs/CMs and supporting products through factory builds, validation, and mass production.
- Proven track record of building and managing high‑performing engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
- Strong background in embedded Linux or RTOS‑based systems, including C/C++ development for resource‑constrained or real‑time environments.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.) and system‑level performance trade‑offs.
- Bluetooth/BLE experience is a strong plus, especially in multi‑radio coexistence (Wi‑Fi + BT/BLE) and RF/system‑level debugging.
- Deep understanding of SoC architectures used in consumer electronics (CPU subsystems, RF front‑ends, baseband, memory and bus architectures, power management) and how software, firmware, and RF interact is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to distinguish and localize issues across RF, SoC, firmware, drivers, OS, and test infrastructure, and to lead teams to systematic root cause and long‑term fixes is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin, with the ability to work effectively with global stakeholders at all levels.

About the team
The Roku TV Technology Engineering team drives innovation and develops proof-of-concept designs for next-generation TV features and reference architectures. Our focus areas include core TV technologies such as Picture Quality, Display, Audio, and System Architecture, with the goal of creating breakthrough solutions and bringing them to production.
We are seeking a System Architect to join our growing Roku TV team in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
About the role
Roku is looking for a Consumer Products System Architect with deep experience in TV system architecture, strong hands-on technical skills, and excellent communication abilities to collaborate across internal teams and external partners.
This is a unique opportunity for a senior technical leader who thrives on independence, visibility, and responsibility. If you are curious, proactive, and comfortable making data-driven decisions in ambiguous situations, this role is for you.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will work closely with industry partners, SoC vendors, universities, ODMs, and component suppliers. Your responsibilities include:
- Innovate and define future TV system architectures in collaboration with Product Management, engineering teams, and external vendors
- Engage with SoC and component vendors to understand and influence their technology roadmaps
- Own and manage an innovation roadmap to integrate hardware differentiation into Roku OS
- Collaborate with Roku engineering teams to identify opportunities for unique user experiences and the hardware capabilities required to deliver them
- Design and prototype hardware and software proof-of-concepts using Roku reference designs and/or FPGA prototyping
- Stay ahead of technology and market trends
- Participate in standards bodies to help shape future industry standards
- Solve complex technical challenges impacting our users
You will leverage your leadership skills, business acumen, and technical expertise in areas such as AI/ML, Picture Quality, Display, Audio, and Connectivity to set the system architecture direction for Roku TVs.
We’re excited if you have
- 10+ years of experience in leadership roles within TV engineering
- Proven track record in architecting system solutions for consumer products
- Hands-on experience in several of the following: AI/ML, SoC Architecture, Picture Quality, Video Processing, Display Technology, Audio Processing
- Strong understanding of hardware and TV manufacturing processes
- Solid knowledge of Linux, development tools, open-source software, and SoC development
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor presentations to different audiences
- Ability to prototype through both hardware (e.g., FPGA) and software
- Fluency in English and Mandarin
- Extensive network across technology partners, industry, and academia in relevant domains
- Strong understanding of TV component cost structures and emerging technologies that can reduce costs
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
