Reporting to the Head of Pre-Sales, you will play a pivotal support role in the ongoing success and expansion of RightShip’s maritime safety and sustainability solutions. This position focuses on leading in the development and delivery of existing tailored solutions that meet customer-specific needs, particularly in the context of workflow optimization, safety decision-making, identification of key pain points in their current workflows, data and insights required to make sustainability decisions.
You will play a lead role in solution design and client engagement, ensuring RightShip’s maritime safety and sustainability solutions are strategically aligned with customer requirements. This role bridges commercial, product, and technical functions by owning discovery processes, shaping solution proposals, and mentoring peers.
This is a high-exposure role that involves interacting with major global shipping companies, charterers, regulators, and port authorities, contributing to solutions that address complex safety, compliance, and environmental requirements in the maritime sector.
Major Responsibilities
- Identify potential customers by obtaining information, referrals, and recommendations from existing customers and other contacts and/or through participation in trade shows and conferences
- Conduct discovery calls and workshops with customer stakeholders; document requirements and business outcomes
- Translate customer needs into standard or tailored solution outlines, data flows and integration notes; coordinate inputs from internal SMEs
- Prepare RFP/RFI content, schedules and solution narratives; contribute to, but do not own, bid strategy
- Deliver persuasive product demos and targeted presentations addressing customer pain points; capture objections and mitigation actions
- Maintain competitive feature matrices and assist with win/loss insights for regional teams
- Provide inputs to Product and Business Development, representing the “voice of the customer”
- Resolve complex presales queries by applying policy/process knowledge; escalate exceptions where policy interpretation is required
- Track customer feedback and support continuous improvement in demo assets, proposal templates and discovery checklists
- Contribute insights on industry trends such as maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL), sustainability frameworks (EEXI, CII), decarbonization and digitalization to shape solution direction
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- 10 - 12 years in the maritime industry with particular focus on implementing digital and software solutions
- Deep domain expertise in maritime operations, fleet management, compliance, or port logistics
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills across senior organizational levels
- Experience with maritime digital transformation initiatives (e.g., Smart Shipping, Decarbonization, Autonomous Vessels)
- Familiarity with SaaS, integrations, and maritime compliance frameworks and knowledge of major CRM
- Familiarity with data analytics platforms, voyage optimization, emissions tracking, or IoT solutions
- Multilingual skills advantageous
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Maritime Studies, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related fields
- Track record leading pre-sales efforts for enterprise-scale software solutions is desired

Reporting to Head of Commercial, the role drives sustainable revenue growth, strengthens executive-level customer relationships, and advances RightShip’s market position as the provider of choice for maritime risk, safety and ESG solutions. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role contributes to regional commercial objectives, identifies new growth opportunities, and ensures delivery of measurable value to customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Account Management
- Develop and execute multi-year strategic account plans aligned with RightShip’s Commercial growth strategy.
- Manage a portfolio of high-value charterers, shipowners, ship managers and/or ports & terminals customers.
- Conduct structured engagement with customers through regular business reviews to evaluate performance, identify new opportunities and reinforce long-term partnerships
- Actively gather customer insights and product feedback during account interactions and provide structured feedback to internal teams to support continuous improvement of RightShip solutions.
- Forecast revenue, renewals, pipeline and growth opportunities within assigned portfolio.
Revenue Growth & Business Development
- Drive revenue expansion through upsell, cross-sell and new solution adoption.
- Identify emerging commercial opportunities aligned with maritime safety, decarbonisation and ESG trends.
- Maintain clear accountability for both revenue growth and customer retention within the portfolio.
- Monitor retention risks across customer accounts and proactively develop mitigation strategies to sustain long-term customer relationships.
- Deliver against defined targets for upsell, renewal and retention rates across the allocated customer base.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and contract renewals within delegated authority.
- Acquire new strategic accounts within defined sector or geography where required.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted advisor relationships with senior decision-makers and influencers within customer organisations.
- Maintain a consistent and structured engagement model with key customers to strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Act as primary escalation point for complex customer matters.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Technology and Client Services to ensure seamless customer experience.
Market Intelligence & Commercial Insight
- Conduct proactive market scanning across maritime sectors to identify regulatory, safety and ESG developments.
- Analyse competitor positioning and provide input into pricing and go-to-market strategies.
- Identify emerging opportunities aligned with maritime digitalisation and SaaS-based solutions supporting risk, safety and sustainability.
- Contribute to regional commercial planning and strategic initiatives led by the Head of Commercial.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with RightShip’s commercial policies, contractual standards and Information Security Management System (ISMS) requirements.
- Identify and escalate commercial or reputational risks where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline reporting and account documentation to support business decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Marketing or related discipline
- The ability to recognise, develop and secure growth within the existing customer base preferably within the Maritime Industry and/or software sales
- 6–8+ years’ experience in account management, business development or commercial sales.
- Experience within maritime, shipping, ports & terminals or related risk/compliance industries preferred.
- Experience working with maritime-related SaaS or digital platforms would be highly advantageous.

Reporting to the Head of Customer Success, the Customer Success Manager, Enterprise (CSM, Ent) manages a portfolio of customer accounts and is responsible for driving customer value realisation, engagement and retention across the RightShip product suite.
The CSM, Ent will focus on the enterprise and mid-market segment of customers that require high-touch, dedicated service and support. The CSM, Ent will work closely in partnership with Sales Business Development Managers (BDMs) and Account Managers (AMs) to ensure our largest, most strategic accounts are realizing value.
The role ensures customers are successfully onboarded, supported and enabled to maximise the value of RightShip’s solutions throughout the lifecycle of their engagement. The Customer Success Manager acts as a trusted partner to customers, working closely with Sales, Product and Support teams to ensure strong adoption, proactive engagement and timely contract renewals.
The CSM plays an important role in maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying risks to retention, and supporting growth opportunities across the customer portfolio.
Major Responsibilities
CUSTOMER ONBOARDING AND IMPLEMENTATION
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers during onboarding and implementation across the RightShip suite of products and services.
- Coordinate onboarding activities including account enablement, configuration, training and early adoption support.
- Guide customers through key product capabilities and ensure alignment between customer objectives and the value delivered by RightShip solutions.
- Ensure a smooth transition from Sales to Customer Success by supporting the handover of new accounts and confirming customer goals and success criteria.
CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT AND VALUE REALISATION
- Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, maintaining regular engagement to ensure customers derive value from RightShip’s products and services.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customer stakeholders to understand their operational needs and priorities.
- Monitor customer usage, engagement and satisfaction to identify opportunities to improve adoption and overall customer outcomes.
- Proactively identify potential risks, blockers or issues affecting customer success and work with internal teams to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Act as the voice of the customer by gathering feedback and sharing insights with Product, Sales and other internal teams to improve solutions and customer experience.
CUSTOMER RETENTION & ACCOUNT HEALTH
- Support the achievement of customer retention and renewal targets by ensuring customers realise measurable value from RightShip’s services.
- Maintain visibility of contract timelines and work collaboratively with Sales teams to support timely renewals.
- Identify potential retention risks within the portfolio and escalate where necessary to ensure proactive mitigation.
- Track key customer success indicators including engagement, adoption and satisfaction across assigned accounts.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT & ISSUE MANAGEMENT
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer queries, product usage questions and service requests.
- Coordinate internally with Product, Platform Support and other teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain clear communication with customers throughout issue resolution and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Support the delivery of service levels and response standards expected by customers.
COMMERCIAL COLLABORATION
- Identify opportunities within the customer portfolio for additional value through product adoption, expanded usage or additional services.
- Collaborate with Sales teams to support customer discussions relating to upgrades, renewals or new solutions.
- Provide insights and context from ongoing customer engagement to support commercial conversations and account planning.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Marketing or related discipline
- 6–8+ years’ experience in customer success, account management, customer experience or client relationship roles.
- Experience working with SaaS platforms, digital products or maritime industry solutions is desirable.
- Strong ability to build relationships with customers and understand their operational needs.
- Ability to communicate product value and translate technical capabilities into practical customer outcomes.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple customer relationships simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
