WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

As a member of the Strategic Finance Team, you will play a critical role in Qualia's growth.  You'll get exposure to all aspects of the business and work closely with various teams and departments to both measure performance and evaluate areas for improvement.  The Strategic Finance Team at Qualia provides a unique opportunity to get under the hood of a high-growth tech company, learn the nuts and bolts of how we operate the business, and be a driving force of our future success - all while honing your analytical skills in an environment where AI is actively reshaping how we work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide analytical rigor and strategic ideas to the revenue and cost drivers of the business
• Build and own our growing playbook of financial models and reports for in-depth analyses, as well as ensuring their quality, timeliness, and accuracy
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, surface insights, and improve the quality and speed of financial decision-making
• Evaluate organizational tradeoffs and be a key decision-maker in operational strategies
• Participate in pricing decisions, product launches, and evaluating investment and new business opportunities - including Qualia's expanding AI product suite
• Support high-exposure initiatives: fundraising, board meetings, etc.
• Develop and monitor critical success metrics and communication of insights across departments
• Continuously scale and improve Qualia's financial processes as we grow
• Perform ad hoc projects and investigations

YOUR BACKGROUND THAT LIKELY MAKES YOU A MATCH

• 3+ years of work experience in investment banking, trading, consulting, or a high-growth tech company with exposure to decision-making analysis and financial modeling
• Mastery of Excel with the ability to digest raw data in order to build and explain models from scratch
• Comfort using AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) to enhance analytical workflows and productivity
• Ability to communicate complex ideas to both internal and external stakeholders
• Extremely detail-oriented with an ability to multitask cross-department projects
• You're metrics-driven in your decision-making, always striving to improve existing processes - naturally curious
• You work best in a highly collaborative environment
• You're a strong performer under pressure and tight timelines

Based in San Francisco, CA, with the ability to work in the office a minimum of two days per week is required. 

This role has a base annual salary of $140,000-$165,000 plus a competitive equity and benefits package. (Salary to be determined by relevant experience, location, knowledge, and skills of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Billing Manager to lead our invoice-to-cash process and optimize our SaaS billing operations. Reporting to the Controller, you will play a critical role in supporting Qualia's rapid growth by scaling our billing infrastructure and ensuring a frictionless financial experience for our customers. Whether you are joining us in our vibrant Austin or SF Bay Area office, you will lead a dedicated team to drive efficiency, accuracy, and automation across all billing functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing billing operations team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence
• Billing Operations: Oversee the billing, invoicing, and collections lifecycle for our diverse portfolio of B2B SaaS subscriptions and usage-based products
• Financial Compliance: Partner with the Accounting team to ensure accurate revenue recognition and strict adherence to internal controls and financial compliance standards
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Customer Success, RevOps and Legal teams to proactively resolve complex billing inquiries, contract questions, and ensure seamless customer onboarding
• Process Optimization: Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within our core billing architecture (including Salesforce, Ordway, and Stripe) to reduce manual tasks and improve accuracy
• Reporting & Analytics: Monitor and report on key billing metrics (e.g., AR aging, collection metrics, billing efficiency), providing actionable insights to senior leadership
• Issue Resolution: Serve as the primary point of escalation for high-priority customer billing issues, ensuring they are handled with both urgency and empathy

YOUR BACKGROUND THAT LIKELY MAKES YOU A MATCH

• Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in billing operations, revenue operations, or accounting
• Leadership: At least 2-3 years of direct management experience with a passion for developing talent
• SaaS Expertise: Deep understanding of B2B SaaS business models, specifically managing complex subscription and usage-based billing structures
• Systems Knowledge: Strong technical proficiency with major Billing and CRM systems; hands-on experience with Ordway and Salesforce is highly preferred
• Analytical Mindset: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to dive deep into data and translate findings into scalable operational improvements
• Communication: Exceptional cross-functional communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial/billing concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders and customers
• Agility: A detail-oriented approach combined with the strategic vision required to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment
• Data-savvy: With proven track record working with large datasets and ensuring data accuracy and completeness

The FP&A team at Qualia is the analytical engine of the Finance organization. We own the company’s planning and forecasting processes, serve as trusted business partners to functional leaders, and produce the financial insights that inform our most important strategic decisions—all in an environment where AI is actively reshaping how we work.

As a Senior FP&A Analyst, you will be a driving force across the organization for forecasts, annual planning, long-range planning, and critical financial analysis — partnering closely with leaders across Sales & Marketing, Customer Success, R&D and G&A to manage spend, track performance, and surface insights that shape how Qualia operates as we scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Elevate Qualia's financial rigor — drive deeper Budget vs. Actuals analysis and forecast precision via smarter, more data-driven modeling and tighter cross-functional collaboration, particularly in uncharted, high-impact areas
• Support monthly forecasting and reporting processes — analyze financial results, distill key trends, and communicate risks and opportunities to influence business outcomes; assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting including variance analysis, dashboards, and Board materials
• Build and own our growing playbook of financial models and reports, ensuring quality, timeliness, and accuracy across in-depth analyses of revenue and cost drivers
• Serve as a strategic business partner across the organization, evaluating organizational tradeoffs with clarity and a bias toward action to enable data-driven decision-making at the leadership level
• Strengthen operational infrastructure and continuously improve our financial planning processes — identify system and process improvements, build automation to reduce recurring manual effort, and scale our FP&A capabilities as the business grows
• Tackle new and evolving priorities, including ad hoc projects and analysis as business needs arise
