We are looking for a passionate Senior Community Engineer to educate Pulumi's rapidly growing community on infrastructure as code best practices and how best to maximize use of the Pulumi platform to achieve success in building modern cloud and AI infrastructure. You will be a part of realizing a vision where every engineer, and every AI agent, can program the cloud.
In this role, you will communicate Pulumi's unique and innovative worldview and approach to the world of engineers and engage with users to solve complex problems, from multi-cloud Kubernetes to GPU training clusters and agentic infrastructure workflows, and create scale by sharing these solutions with software engineers globally.
In addition to engaging deeply with the community, you will also work closely with Pulumi's product and engineering teams (including the team behind Pulumi Neo, our AI agent for infrastructure) to ensure that the needs of the community are always served by the Pulumi platform.

In This Role You Will:
- Write blog posts or whitepapers that offer architectural guidance, analyze varying technological viewpoints, and illustrate patterns and concepts around infrastructure as code, including AI-native architectures, GPU orchestration, and agentic IaC workflows.
- Speak and perform demos at leading technical conferences across both the cloud-native and AI/ML ecosystems (KubeCon, AWS re:Invent, Microsoft Ignite, Google Cloud Next, PyTorch Conference, Ray Summit, MLOps World, and more).
- Build thought leadership for Pulumi around infrastructure as code, platform engineering, and the emerging discipline of AI infrastructure engineering.
- Champion Pulumi Neo and our MCP server to the community, showing developers how to combine Pulumi with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) and agent frameworks like Strands Agents SDK, Google ADK, and LangChain to ship real infrastructure faster.
- Teach the community how to configure and prompt AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Cline, and similar) so they consistently produce reliable, idiomatic, production-grade Pulumi code, including patterns for context engineering, MCP-based tool wiring, evaluation, and guardrails.
- Develop reference architectures and demos for AI/ML workloads on Pulumi: training clusters, inference platforms, vector databases, RAG pipelines, and multi-cloud foundation-model portability across AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, and Google Vertex AI.
- Create demos to be used in talks, blogs, social media, and community opportunities.
- Foster Pulumi community virtually and at regional meetups, including AI-focused and platform-engineering communities.
This role spans our entire open source platform, across many clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes), supporting any number of industry standard languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go, etc.), and scenarios (containers, serverless, AI/ML, and infrastructure). We're Looking For Someone With:
- 3+ years in a software development environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated experience delivering technical presentations and live demos that help developers understand and adopt new tools
- Ability to author assets such as blog articles, tutorials, and workshops.
- Strong interest in and preferably hands-on experience with AI/ML infrastructure—LLMs, agentic workflows, GPU workloads, MCP, and AI-assisted developer tooling
- Hands-on experience configuring AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar) to produce reliable, production-grade code in real engineering workflows.
- Familiarity with prompt and context engineering patterns, MCP server integration, evals, and guardrails that keep agent output trustworthy.
- Experience in one or more of the following technologies a plus:
- Languages: Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#

- You've shipped high-quality production software - apps, APIs, or automations - that real users depend on, and you hold yourself to a high bar on code quality
- You have 2+ years of full-stack or backend development experience
- You're fluent with AI-assisted development - Claude Code is a core part of your workflow, not a novelty - and you're comfortable working with LLMs and AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) to build practical, production-grade tools
- You understand GTM systems - you know what Salesforce is for, why lead routing matters, and how data flows between marketing and sales
- You have experience with automation and integration tooling (n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar)
- You can work across the stack: write a Python script, wire up an API, build a lightweight front end, and deploy it
- You take ownership of outcomes - you don't wait to be told what to build next, you identify the problem, ship the solution, and measure whether it worked

We're looking for engineers to build all aspects of Neo: from agent orchestration and tool interfaces to the web experience where users watch Neo work, approve operations, and understand its reasoning, to the interface with the models and how we orchestrate and fine-tune them to maximize impact. We seek bold thinkers to reimagine the entirety of cloud engineering.

Responsibilities
- Build the planning and execution systems that let Neo safely perform multi-step infrastructure operations across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and more
- Design tool interfaces that give the agent semantic understanding of cloud resources and access to engineering workflows
- Develop the context systems that help Neo understand each customer's infrastructure patterns and usage
- Create the feedback loops and self-correction mechanisms that make autonomous operation reliable
- Build evaluation frameworks to measure agent performance across Neo's capability areas: migrations, compliance, cost optimization, diagnostics, and more
- Work on the web interface where Neo operates as a "virtual teammate"—task assignment, progress visibility, approval workflows
- Integrate Neo's capabilities into Pulumi's MCP Server for agent-to-agent workflows
- Collaborate with platform teams to deeply integrate agent capabilities into the CLI, SDKs, and Pulumi Cloud
You may be a good fit if you:
- Are genuinely excited about agentic AI—systems that plan, act, and adapt in the real world, not just generate text
- Have built production systems using LLMs, including experience with tool use, function calling, and multi-step orchestration
- Care deeply about reliability and safety when AI systems take real actions with real consequences
- Are comfortable across the stack—agent orchestration, backend services, and frontend interfaces
- Have strong Python and TypeScript skills (our primary languages) and can pick up new environments quickly
- Bring a product mindset: you think about what users need, not just what's technically interesting
- Communicate clearly and work well with a distributed team
Strong candidates may also have:
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) or infrastructure-as-code tools
- Background in building developer tools, CLIs, or platform engineering systems
- Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Experience building evaluation frameworks and benchmarks for AI systems
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or retrieval-augmented generation
Compensation
- Base Salary: $190,000-220,000

We’re seeking a Solutions Engineer that is excited to help guide customers in adopting Pulumi’s infrastructure-as-code platform, redefining how teams build and operate cloud infrastructure through real programming languages, automation, and developer-first workflows.

In This Role You Will:
- Partner with the Sales team to articulate the value, visions, and strategy of Pulumi to our customers.
- Own the technical pre-sales engagement including, technical discovery, demos, proof-of-concepts and ensuring the technical win.
- Technically close complex opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge, technical skills and credibility.
- Serve as a technical partner to cloud and platform engineering teams, guiding architectural decisions and best practices.
- Deliver product and technical presentations to potential clients at customer meetings and Pulumi events.
- Be a customer advocate, closing the loop between customers, product teams and engineering, championing the product to the customer and bringing their requirements to the roadmap.
- Be challenged, solve new problems, teach about our technologies, and figure out new, better ways to delight our customers.
We’re Looking For Someone With:
- 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting).
- Proficiency with one or more modern programming languages such as Go, Python, TypeScript, C# or Java.
- Deep familiarity with core cloud-based infrastructure, application modernization, Open Source technologies, and public and/or private cloud platforms.
- Hands on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (eg. Pulumi, Terraform, AWS CDK).
- Demonstrated experience in software development and related best practices.
- Proven ability to lead and manage technical customer engagements, including scoping, expectation setting, and successful delivery.
- Experience in solution selling methodologies (e.g. MEDDPICC, SPIN, Challenger Sales) and how they apply to the technical sales cycle.
- Experience building effective relationships with both technical stakeholders (developers, architects) and business leaders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive outcomes.

- Experience in a startup environment or fast-paced technology company
- Public cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with enterprise software sales
Compensation:
- Solutions Engineer - Base Salary Hiring Range: $115,000 - $143,000
- Solutions Architect - Base Salary Hiring Range: $147,000 - $190,000
- This role will include a 30% commission/variable along with base salary.
