About the Role

• We are looking for a Senior Product Analyst, Data Science, to drive analytics for ML-powered products at project44.
• This role sits at the intersection of Product, Data Science, and Operations, with a mandate to define how ML systems are measured, evaluated, and improved in production. You will own the analytical frameworks that connect model performance to product outcomes, ensuring our AI capabilities deliver measurable business impact.
• You will work on ambiguous, high-impact problems, designing experiments, evaluating models (offline and online), and shaping product strategy through data. This is not a reporting role. You are expected to operate as a thought partner to Product and Data Science, influencing decisions and driving outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Own Product & ML Measurement

• Define and operationalize success metrics across product and ML systems, including north-star metrics, product KPIs, and model-level evaluation frameworks.

Drive Model Evaluation & Feedback Loops

• Evaluate model performance using offline and online metrics (e.g., precision/recall, lift, latency, adoption) and establish feedback loops to continuously improve models in production.

Design Agent-Driven Analytics Workflows

What We’re Looking For

4–6+ years in Product Analytics, Data Science, or related roles, with experience supporting data-driven product decisions.

Analytical & Statistical Expertise

Strong foundation in statistics and experimentation, including hypothesis testing, A/B testing, and causal inference.

Technical Skills

• Senior Data Scientist to lead the development of next-generation AI/ML systems at Project44, spanning ETA, risk, anomaly detection, and supply chain intelligence. • Build and operate systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging managed services to deliver reliable and scalable backend solutions
• Take shared ownership of development, testing, deployment, and operations for the systems owned by your team
• Participate in a team on-call rotation, debugging and resolving issues across your team’s services
• Improve observability, monitoring, and operational tooling to ensure system reliability and a strong on-call experience
• Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews, and documentation, helping set a high bar for quality and maintainability within the team
• Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance

Qualities

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical decisions through design docs, discussions, and reviews, and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience building large-scale, cloud-based systems
• Strong programming and debugging skills with proficiency in Java

Experience in:

• Designing and building scalable Java-based microservices
• Designing and consuming APIs and web services (REST, OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Working with databases, including NoSQL and/or relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB, Postgres, or similar)
• Working in an Agile software development environment
• Using AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, and debugging (e.g., Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar)
• Integrating AI-assisted workflows into daily development while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, and correctness

Desirable and helpful (but not necessary) are experience in:

• Building event-driven systems and stream-processing pipelines (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Designing or working with agentic AI systems, including multi-step or autonomous LLM-powered workflows
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks or patterns (e.g., task planning, tool invocation, stateful agents, workflow orchestration)

We’re hiring a technical, hands-on Product Manager to scale ML-powered products (ETA, risk, anomalies/exceptions, network insights) while building Data Science as a Platform—reusable capabilities that accelerate model development, deployment, monitoring, and governance across multiple product areas. 

You’ll partner daily with Data Science, ML Engineering, Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Product teams to ship production ML and establish repeatable, measurable ML delivery. 

Key Accountabilities

• Own the roadmap for applied ML capabilities beyond ETA (risk scoring, exception prediction, anomaly detection, carrier/network performance insights), from discovery to launch and iteration. 
• Define and deliver a DS/ML platform: feature management, experimentation, model registry, deployment patterns, monitoring/observability, governance, and self-serve tooling. 
• Translate customer workflows into ML problem statements: labels/targets, constraints, SLAs, interpretability, and “do no harm” launch gates. 
• Drive evaluation and experimentation: offline metrics/back testing, online testing (A/B, holdouts), and measurable business impact. 
• Partner with engineering on batch + real-time inference architectures, streaming/event-time feature needs, and reliability (SLOs, incident playbooks). 
• Establish and track platform success metrics: time-to-first-model, deployment frequency, reuse rate, model performance stability, incident rate, and ROI.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5–8+ years Product Management experience with 3–4+ years focused on DS/ML-driven products (or equivalent) 
• Demonstrated ability shipping end-to-end ML systems to production and iterating based on outcomes 
• Strong technical fluency across the ML lifecycle (data → features → training → serving → monitoring → retraining) 
• Ability to operate between Sr and Principal: sets direction, aligns stakeholders, and drives execution across multiple teams 
• Excellent written communication (PRDs, decision docs) and crisp cross-functional leadership

• LLMs/GenAI (RAG, embeddings, vector DBs like Pinecone/Weaviate/Milvus), evaluation + guardrails 

Preferred 

• Experience in logistics / supply chain / transportation or other high-volume operational domains 
• Familiarity with geospatial/event-time data, carrier APIs/EDI, entity resolution, and enterprise exception workflows 
• Platform product experience with internal “developer” customers and adoption metrics
