Role Description

Your North Star: build irreplaceable relationships with Pomelo’s health plan and employer customers, maximizing our opportunities to serve patients.

In this role, you will:

• Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for Pomelo’s customers, developing strong relationships and a deep understanding of their business and member needs
• Proactively engage with customers to ensure seamless implementations and deliver an ongoing best-in-class customer experience
• Advocate for strategic customer needs and feedback internally, and work cross-functionally with other teams to achieve outcomes and results for customers and Pomelo
• Develop and deliver regular business reviews with customers to identify areas for improvement, demonstrate Pomelo’s impact for patients and plans/employers, and drive customer retention
• Identify and mitigate risks, escalating critical customer issues to appropriate stakeholders and driving prompt resolution
• Collaborate closely with Pomelo partnership, marketing, and operations teams on strategic customer opportunities, including presentations, major enrollment campaigns, or other initiatives critical to Pomelo’s customer success
• Manage a Customer Success Manager, and develop a team strategic to drive forward progress for customers

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in consulting, customer success, or project management, with preferably 5+ years of health tech or healthcare experience and 2+ years managing a team
• Strong project management and creative problem solving experience, with a proactive, solution-oriented, and customer-focused mindset
• Proven experience leading projects and competing priorities across a range of external stakeholders and cross-functional internal teams
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and eager to thrive in a fast-paced metric-driven environment, with a track record of meeting or exceeding customer satisfaction, retention, and expansion goals
• Willingness and interest in using data and research to learn new content areas

Bonus points for

• Experience implementing solutions within health plans or employers, or experience managing health plan or employer relationships
• Experience working in a virtual care setting and/or with value-based care models

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our company’s size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Pomelo Care. In accordance with New York City, Colorado, California, and other applicable laws, Pomelo Care is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $160,000-$190,000 plus eligibility for the company's incentive plan. We expect most candidates to fall in the middle of the range. We also believe that your personal needs and preferences should be taken into consideration, so we allow some choice between equity and cash.

Who You Are:

• Independently licensed as an LICSW, LMHC, or LPC or at least 5 years in Pennsylvania
• A minimum of 3 years of experience providing women’s mental health care
• Comfortable using telehealth platforms, video conferencing tools, and electronic documentation systems
• Strong clinical judgment with the ability to work independently during patient visits

Role Description

Your North Star: Enroll patients referred to Pomelo Care by health plans, providers, and hospital systems.

As a Referral Specialist, you will be responsible for documenting, processing, and enrolling referrals made to Pomelo Care by outside organizations. You will also educate patients on Pomelo Care clinical and social resources available to them through their health plan. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, an eye for detail and efficiency, and the ability to establish rapport with patients and external partners.

• Conduct outbound calls and digital outreach (SMS, email) to referred patients to drive new patient enrollments, meeting quality and productivity requirements.

As our first Product Security Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of Security and Software Engineering. About The Role: 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Manager to join our rapidly growing organization. In this role, you will be tasked with building a best-in-class accounting function that can adapt, grow, and meet the changing needs of the organization as it evolves. You will also collaborate with other accounting team members and manage a staff accountant.

On this small but high-impact team, you will serve as the primary owner of the general ledger and expense management functions and assist directly with all aspects of day-to-day financial activities and monthly reporting. You will partner to build, implement, maintain, and support accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to streamline operations, mitigate risk, and improve financial reporting to aid in better decision-making and transparency.

What You'll Do: 

• Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and the general ledger
• Lead the month-end close process for the general ledger and expenses, ensuring accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis
• Lead month-end consolidations, including inter-company transactional processing, allocations, and eliminations; provide strategic support for annual management fee analysis
• Review monthly consolidated financial statements and ensure accurate and timely internal and external reporting
• Prepare technical accounting research, including researching alternatives, documenting facts, and implementing recommendations and conclusions
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and manage documentation of internal controls over financial reporting to ensure audit readiness and process integrity
• Assist with tax and compliance filings for multiple entities 
• Partner with finance team members and cross-functional stakeholders to build and support accounting systems, offering recommendations to automate and leverage AI to drive efficiencies and scale
• Collaborate closely with the FP&A team on budgeting and forecasting to align accounting actuals with future growth targets
• Manage a Staff Accountant, including oversight of day-to-day responsibilities and long-term career development
• Collaborate and provide support to business owners as needed for ad hoc analyses and projects

Who You Are:

• You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of experience working on an accounting team, ideally at a rapidly growing, early-stage company
• Experience managing and mentoring a team
• Excellent attention to detail and strong, collaborative analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities

Your North Star: You will help build, optimize, and scale best-in-class operations for Pomelo’s doula business line by delivering data-driven analysis, insights, and operational initiatives that drive impact for our members.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze and report on key operational metrics and performance trends for Pomelo’s doula business.
• Leverage data insights to identify and prioritize areas for operational efficiency, and implement critical process improvements. 
• Own end-to-end operations for new plan launches, including clinical team capacity planning and SOP development
• Own key operational projects that improve how we deliver care for our members, including using analytical rigor to assess project success. Proactively communicate project timelines and roadblocks with cross-functional partners to ensure deliverables are met.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Revenue Cycle Management, Accounting, Strategic Finance, Partnerships, and Customer Success to ensure success of our doula business line.

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience in a strategic analytical role, preferably in consulting, finance, or at a high-growth start-up.
• 3+ years of experience independently performing complex data analysis using Excel or similar, as well as creating data visualizations (e.g. Metabase, Looker).

Role Description

Your north star: Support the Pomelo clinical practice by ensuring accurate coding of patient encounters.

In this role, you will have the following responsibilities: 

• Review video, audio, and chat-based encounters and interactions with patients, ensuring completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation 
• Accurately apply appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes for each encounter, adhering to federal and state rules and agreed-upon coding guidelines with our partner MCOs 
• Query clinical team to obtain additional, clarifying documentation to improve the accuracy and completeness of the encounter data
• Continuously analyze coding patterns to identify opportunities for streamlining and improving the coding process, proposing recommendations for increased efficiency and accuracy
• Stay up to date with coding regulations, guidelines, and changes in Medicaid rules, ensuring compliance with coding and billing requirements

Who you are

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification or equivalent coding certification
• 5+ years medical coding experience with expertise in outpatient coding for obstetrics/gynecology (including lactation), pediatrics, therapy and nutritional counseling
• 5+ years coding in an EHR with recent experience in Athena preferred
• In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding guidelines and Medicaid coding rules.

About The Role: 

Pomelo is seeking an experienced and motivated Staff Accountant to join our rapidly growing organization. This role will partner directly with the Accounting Manager to build a best-in-class accounting function that can adapt, grow, and meet the changing needs of the organization as it evolves. You will also collaborate with other finance team members.

On this small but high-impact team, you will assist directly with day-to-day financial activities and monthly reporting. You will partner to build, implement, maintain, and support accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to streamline operations, mitigate risk, and improve financial reporting to aid in better decision-making and transparency.

What You'll Do: 

• Support the day-to-day accounting operations of Pomelo Care, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
• Assist with the monthly financial closes, including creating monthly journal entries and performing account reconciliations 
• Assist with the maintenance of financial tools and systems
• Prepare monthly financial statements and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close package reporting. This includes managing intercompany allocations and accumulation of financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
• Partner with the accounting team and cross-functional stakeholders to build, implement, maintain and support accounting processes, systems, and internal controls, including offering recommendations for improvement, evaluating future business needs and managing compliance
• Ad hoc analyses and projects as needed 

Who You Are:

• You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• You have 3+ years of experience working on an accounting team at a rapidly growing, early-stage company
• Excellent attention to detail and strong, collaborative analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Desire to learn and develop your skill set to take on more responsibility and a diverse set of tasks/ experiences

About The Role: 

As the Head of Member Growth and Engagement, you will serve as the primary architect and operator of our revenue engine, owning the entire member lifecycle from lead identification through long-term retention. We are looking for a leader who balances the tactical precision needed to hit monthly revenue targets with the strategic vision to re-engineer our enrollment and retention journeys. In this role, you will collaborate across marketing, tech, and operations to unlock step-change improvements in performance and build a world-class member growth and engagement organization.

• Reviewing and submitting claims within payor guidelines to ensure timely and accurate filing
• Reporting on aging encounters, and partnering with clinicians to resolve them, ensuring compliance with internal best practices
• Resolving and appealing claims denials, and working with the Revenue Cycle Manager to improve workflows and optimize our claim submission process
• Reconciling ERAs by resolving holds, manually posting payments and adjudicating claims
• Collaborating with other teams to identify and update missing patient demographic and insurance data 
• Proactively identifying opportunities and implementing processes to optimize efficiency and accuracy within the billing function
• Collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment and demonstrating a proactive approach to managing small projects across various functions

Role Description

Your North Star: Support the acceleration of Pomelo’s health plan partnership pipeline through rigorous research, operational excellence, and deal support.

In this role, you will:

• Support Pipeline Operations: Source and track health plan opportunities, maintaining data hygiene in our CRM to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
• Drive Meeting Preparation: Own the preparation for customer meetings, including researching stakeholder context, adapting pitch decks to highlight focus areas, and creating briefing materials for leadership.
• Synthesize & Execute: Synthesize key takeaways from partner meetings and own internal and external follow-up actions to keep deals moving forward.
• Conduct Market Research: Leverage existing data and resources to research prospective partners and health plan priorities, providing the team with actionable intelligence.
• Collaborate on Materials: Work closely with Partnerships and Marketing teams to develop pitches, conference materials, and case studies that showcase Pomelo’s value to payers.

Who You Are

• 2-4+ years of experience in a client-facing or analytical role; management consulting background is strongly preferred.
• Healthcare Interest/Experience: 2+ years of healthcare experience or a demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly on complex domains (e.g., payer dynamics, value-based care).
• Structured Thinker: You have strong organizational skills and problem-solving aptitude, with a knack for structuring ambiguity into clear next steps.
• Action-Oriented: You are eager to thrive in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment and are willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
• Strong Communicator: You have exceptional written and verbal skills, able to produce high-quality slides and written synthesis for internal and external audiences.

Bonus points for:

• Experience in financial modeling or building pricing proposals.
• Familiarity with how insurance coverage works by line of business (Commercial and Medicaid)

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our company’s size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Pomelo Care. In accordance with New York City, Colorado, California, and other applicable laws, Pomelo Care is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $95,000-110,000 plus an annual bonus. We expect most candidates to fall in the middle of the range. We also believe that your personal needs and preferences should be taken into consideration, so we allow some choice between equity and cash.

Role Description

Your North Star: Drive the zero-to-one launch of Pomelo's newest women's health offering by building a best-in-class lifecycle and retention program that inspires deep patient trust and long-term engagement. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Own day-to-day execution of all lifecycle channels and the overarching retention marketing strategy for our newest venture
• Build the 0-to-1 testing engine for retention, creating and optimizing automated messaging journeys to ensure new patients stay engaged with our expanding health offerings
• Collaborate with Clinical and Operations teams to identify friction points and develop initiatives that increase Lifetime Value (LTV), quality of care, and patient satisfaction
• Partner closely with the Head of Growth to ensure a seamless full-funnel experience, bridging the gap between new patient acquisition and long-term adherence
• Synthesize data and qualitative insights from our new patient cohorts to drive fast, efficient learning and optimize the end-to-end funnel
• Collaborate with Clinical teams to ensure all lifecycle communications reflect our evidence-based care model and build trust in these sensitive new categories

Who you are

• 2-5 years of experience in DTC lifecycle marketing, ideally with experience in a 0-to-1 growth environment where you’ve had to build and scale channels from scratch
• ‘Hands-on-keyboard’ expert who has owned and operated email and SMS channels at a sizable business (e.g., ~6-figure revenue) with a heavy emphasis on retention and subscription
• A builder who thrives in ambiguity, moving quickly from idea to test while balancing brand building with short-term performance needs
• Strong balance of ‘right brain’ and ‘left brain’ — you enjoy balancing creative ideation with data-driven decision making
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and drive alignment across cross-functional and external partners

Bonus points if you have any of the following

• Familiar with Braze, with experience building complex logic or multi-channel flows
• Background in women’s health or another highly regulated category
