 About the Job

You will own the project-level financial models that underpin investment decisions, financing negotiations, and partnership economics across Peak Energy’s portfolio. This is a hands-on role where your models will be used in real transactions—not shelved. You’ll work directly with the Chief Strategy Officer and CEO, and your work product will be seen by institutional investors, strategic partners, tax credit buyers, and lenders.

This is a high-impact role where your models directly shape strategy and capital allocation. You’ll work with an experienced team that has deep domain expertise in energy storage and project finance. This is a ground-floor opportunity at a company positioned at the intersection of two major trends: the energy storage buildout and the commercialization of sodium-ion battery technology.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project pro formas from early development through COD: revenue forecasts (capacity payments, energy arbitrage, ancillary services, resource adequacy), CapEx/OpEx assumptions, degradation and augmentation schedules, and terminal value.
• Model capital structures including tax equity (partnership flip, direct pay, transfer), preferred equity facilities, and project-level debt. Build waterfall distributions across complex multi-party structures.
• Support acquisition evaluation—take interconnection data, permitting status, offtake terms, and chemistry conversion assumptions and produce actionable go/no-go acquisition models on tight timelines.
• Analyze IRA incentive structures: ITC adders (energy community, domestic content), direct pay vs. transfer economics, and bonus credit qualification.
• Model CAISO market dynamics: tolling structures, merchant exposure, RA contract value, and curtailment scenarios relevant to sodium-ion’s positioning vs. lithium-ion.
• Prepare investor-facing outputs—clean, auditable models and summary materials for institutional capital partners, lenders, and insurance underwriters.
• Develop sensitivity and scenario analyses that articulate risk around a chemistry (sodium-ion) with a thinner bankable track record than lithium.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5–7 years in renewable energy or storage project finance—at a developer, IPP, infrastructure fund, or advisory firm.
• Demonstrated experience building project finance models that have been through investor or lender diligence (not just internal screening).
• Strong command of ITC/PTC mechanics post-IRA, including tax equity structures.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills; comfort with Python or similar for scenario automation and data analysis is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with CAISO markets, interconnection processes, or California regulatory landscape preferred.
• Ability to communicate model assumptions and outputs clearly to non-financial stakeholders and external counterparties.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with battery energy storage projects specifically (any chemistry).
• Exposure to project acquisition diligence or M&A in the energy space.
• Familiarity with tax credit insurance, transfer markets, or emerging IRA compliance guidance.

The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $200,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. About the Job 

As a Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the technical and engineering aspects of Peak’s projects. You’ll design site layouts, engage with EPCs, and ensure projects are technically sound, cost-effective, and optimized for execution. This is a highly cross-functional role — you’ll work side by side with Project Managers, Finance, and our internal cell and ESS engineering teams to drive projects from concept to commissioning 

Responsibilities: 

• Serve as the customer-facing, technical arm of sales and execution, acting as the bridge between Peak’s engineering teams and external stakeholders translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for customers.  

• Create and optimize site layouts, electrical designs, and conceptual engineering packages for utility-scale storage projects. 

• Manage technical due diligence, including geotechnical, environmental, and interconnection studies. 

• Partner with EPC contractors to evaluate construction methods, cost estimates, and schedules. 

• Support Project Managers in technical aspects of permitting and community engagement. 

• Review and incorporate interconnection requirements, codes, and standards into design. 

• Provide input into project financial models by translating technical assumptions into cost/performance outcomes. 

• Contribute to RFP responses and bid packages with accurate technical content. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related field. 

• 3–7 years of experience in engineering for renewable energy or power projects. 

• Experience designing or supporting utility scale power projects
• Proficiency in site design, layout, and electrical system modeling tools including AutoCAD and Excel

• Understanding of  Interconnection, codes/standards, and EPC contracting process. 

• Ability to collaborate across teams and translate technical details into project decisions. 

• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to constructability and cost-effectiveness. 

• Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation. 

• Eligible to work in the U.S. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience designing or supporting utility-scale battery storage projects. 
• Experience designing, sizing and configuring utility scale BESS plants

• Knowledge of NFPA 855, UL 9540, and other relevant codes/standards. 

• Experience working directly with EPCs on constructability reviews and cost estimates. 

• Background in commissioning support, QA/QC processes, or system validation for BESS Projects. 

• Advanced degree in engineering or energy systems.

About the Job

We're looking for a VP of Sales to lead our commercial organization and drive revenue growth as we scale our Sodium-Ion battery systems across North America. This executive will own the full sales strategy, team development, and execution needed to establish Peak Energy as the leading provider of cost-effective, safe energy storage solutions.

This is a transformational leadership role for a proven sales executive who has built and scaled high-performing teams in complex B2B markets. You'll define our go-to-market approach, forge strategic partnerships with utilities and renewable developers, and build the commercial infrastructure to support hundreds of megawatts of deployments.

You'll work directly with our CSO and cross-functional leaders to shape company strategy, own revenue targets, and build lasting customer relationships that drive the clean energy transition.

Responsibilities:

• Cultivate relationships with developers, utilities, IPPs, EPCs, and corporate energy buyers
• Establish and manage the full sales process from lead generation through contract negotiation and close for utility-scale and C&I energy storage projects
• Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategy to achieve aggressive revenue targets and market share goals in the energy storage sector
• Own sales forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue reporting with rigorous accountability and transparency
• Drive pricing strategy and contract negotiations for complex, multi-year energy storage agreements
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to translate customer needs into product roadmap priorities and competitive positioning
• Build strategic channel partnerships and alliances to expand market reach and accelerate growth

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience with at least 5 years in an executive sales role (VP, SVP, or Chief Revenue Officer) — ideally in energy storage, grid infrastructure, or renewable project development
• Deep experience selling complex, capital-intensive solutions in energy storage, renewable energy, cleantech, or adjacent infrastructure markets
• Capable of engaging, on a peer-to-peer basis, with the highest levels of executives at target key accounts
• Experience managing complex contract negotiations and navigating procurement processes with utilities and large enterprises
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to articulate complex technical value propositions
• Willingness to travel up to 50% to meet with customers and attend industry events
• Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience selling energy storage systems (ESS), grid-connected assets, or utility-scale hardware solutions
• Experience scaling sales from early-stage through growth stage in venture-backed cleantech or energy companies
• Existing relationships with key decision-makers at major utilities, renewable developers, or energy storage buyers
• Track record of successfully launching new products or entering new markets
• Understanding of energy storage economics, incentive programs (ITC, IRA), and project finance structures
• Experience working with or selling to regional ISOs, RTOs, and grid operators
• Knowledge of battery technology, grid modernization, and renewable integration challenges
• Prior experience at high-growth companies that achieved successful exit or significant scale

The salary range for this role is $250,000 – $325,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills.
