Position Summary
Peak Energy is accelerating the transition to clean, reliable energy through advanced energy storage systems. We are seeking a Controller to be the first dedicated accounting leader at Peak and build our finance infrastructure from the ground up. This role will be hands-on in the near term — taking ownership of the close process, supporting our ERP implementation, and preparing for our initial financial audit — while also laying the foundation for a scalable, best-in-class accounting organization.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong, process-minded accounting leader who thrives in fast-growing, entrepreneurial environments and is motivated by the opportunity to design and own the accounting function end to end.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build the Accounting Function
- Establish internal accounting operations previously managed by external providers, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Define the accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that will support the company’s next stage of growth.
- Design and implement scalable processes to support manufacturing, project development, and capital asset activities.
- Develop the company’s first monthly close process with clear timelines, responsibilities, and accuracy standards.
- Financial Reporting & Audit Readiness
- Prepare and own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the company’s first external audit process, establishing documentation standards and audit-ready controls.
- Develop and maintain chart of accounts, closing checklists, and standard reporting templates.
- ERP Implementation & Systems
- Serve as finance lead for implementation of the company’s first ERP system (e.g., NetSuite).
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure accounting and operational data flow seamlessly.
- Create systems for tracking inventory, fixed assets, and capital project spend in coordination with other departments.
- Capital Expenditure & Project Accounting
- Implement processes for capital purchases, including purchase order review, asset capitalization, and depreciation policies.
- Work with the project development and operations teams to ensure accurate accounting for construction-in-progress, intercompany allocations, and project costs.
- Support FP&A and leadership in translating financial results into actionable insights.
- Team & Growth
- Build and lead a small but high-performing accounting team over time as the company scales.
- Mentor and develop future team members while maintaining a hands-on approach in the early stages.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, visibility, and control across financial operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in-house at a growing company.
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control design.
- Experience leading ERP implementations or major system transitions.
- Strong technical skills paired with willingness to be hands-on in the details.
- Experience in manufacturing, clean energy, or capital project–intensive industries preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience building an accounting function from scratch or leading through a transition from outsourced to in-house accounting.
- Exposure to inventory, cost accounting, and project-based accounting.
- Experience preparing for or managing a first-time financial audit.
The salary range for this role is $200,000 - $235,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. About the Job:
Peak Energy is looking for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to establish and lead quality engineering at Peak Energy from the ground up. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will be responsible for establishing foundational quality systems, driving PFMEA and in-process quality controls, and managing supplier and incoming component quality. They will work closely with engineering, operations, and leadership to define the standards and processes that ensure our battery systems are safe, reliable, and ready for customer deployment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct rapid assessments of current build processes, failure modes, and risk areas, identifying the highest-priority gaps in quality and safety coverage.
- Own and continuously improve the PFMEA process with cross functional review and approval.
- Establish an IQC framework, develop supplier qualification criteria, and begin laying the groundwork and systems for supplier quality.
- Collaborate closely with design and engineering to surface high-risk product failure modes early, bringing quality thinking into design reviews before issues become build problems.
- Define control, verification, and sampling plans to ensure part quality meets requirements in both development and on-going production.
- Define and track key quality metrics; drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Advocate for quality in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
- Build the quality organization as the company scales.
- Drive field investigations and customer-facing quality responses.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of quality engineering experience, ideally in battery, EV, power electronics, or adjacent hardware manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience running or contributing to PFMEA processes, with strong working knowledge of RPN prioritization and risk mitigation strategies.
- Experience establishing quality systems in an early-stage or resource-constrained environment.
- Familiarity with battery-specific failure modes (cell-level, pack-level, thermal, BMS-related).
- Experience leading field failure investigations, including root cause analysis, cross-functional problem solving, and solution implementation.
- Working knowledge of IQC processes and supplier quality management.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence without authority and navigate tradeoffs between quality and speed.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience shipping a product from prototype phase through to customer deployment.

The Systems Engineer ensures that both the design and the final, assembled product meet the company and customer needs. Roles and Responsibilities
- Define and manage system and subsystem requirements for Peak’s battery energy storage system products
- Develop and own system-level budgets, decomposing top-level requirements into subsystem allocations
- Create and oversee verification of requirements including determining test plans, analyzing and reviewing results, providing the final say on the outcome of the verification
- Drive future architecture changes, evaluate tradeoffs on, and lead cross-functional decision-making efforts
- Support and mentor fellow engineers by communicating system-level impacts to inform and improve their designs
- Act as the subject matter expert for customer-facing documents such as service and operation manuals and technical reports
- Support UL, NFPA, and UN compliance efforts, providing technical expertise and guidance
Minimum Qualifications

Thermal Analysis
- Perform detailed thermal analysis of storage systems, including transient and steady-state heat transfer simulations.

Simulation and Modeling

This role sits at the intersection of embedded systems, electrical engineering, and system modeling, ensuring our products are safe, reliable, and performant from cell to grid.
You will lead the definition of functional requirements, system behavior, and safety architecture, while partnering closely with embedded, hardware, and modeling teams—and may directly oversee embedded software development for safety-critical functions.
This is a highly cross-functional, hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity and wants to shape both product and engineering direction.
Responsibilities:
- Own system-level architecture and functional definition for energy storage systems (BMS, controls, protections, EMS integration)
- Define and manage system requirements, interfaces, and traceability from cell → module → pack → system → grid
- Lead functional safety architecture, including fault detection, diagnostics, and protection strategies
- Drive systems integration across embedded software, power electronics, thermal, and mechanical subsystems

- Equipment Design:

About the Job:
Peak Energy is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to lead the development, deployment, and optimization of manufacturing equipment across our current operations and future factory expansions. This role will play a critical part in building out production lines at our Sacramento facility, owning the end-to-end execution of equipment strategy—from early concepting and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) through vendor coordination, installation, commissioning, and validation.
In this position, you will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing equipment and tooling to enable efficient, scalable production processes. You will drive the introduction of new machinery, automation systems, and production line enhancements, ensuring all equipment meets production requirements, safety standards, and operational efficiency goals.
As the central point of ownership for equipment-related workstreams, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams including process, quality, design, and manufacturing to deliver fully operational, production-ready lines. This is a highly hands-on, cross-functional role that will directly impact Peak Energy’s ability to scale ESS production toward 1 GWh capacity by 2027.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop complete manufacturing lines for both in-house builds and supplier sourced equipment, bringing lines from concept through commissioning and ramp.
- Define equipment concepts, technical specifications, and performance requirements for high volume manufacturing
- Lead the RFQ process, supplier selection, and technical reviews for new manufacturing equipment
- Coordinate factory readiness, utility requirements, installation, and commissioning activities
- Travel domestically and internationally, up to 20%, as required
- Support the transition of products and processes from low‑volume prototype builds to full‑scale manufacturing
- Collaborate with Process Engineering to refine, industrialize, and deploy scalable manufacturing processes
- Support line optimization efforts throughout ramp and production maturity
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, including materials, GD&T, drafting standards, and engineering calculations

- Model capital structures including tax equity (partnership flip, direct pay, transfer), preferred equity facilities, and project-level debt. Build waterfall distributions across complex multi-party structures.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Product Design Partnership
- Partner with Design and Manufacturing Engineering during product architecture and design reviews to quantify cost, margin, and lifecycle tradeoffs (including cost vs. performance decisions).

About the Job
We're looking for a Technical Product Manager to join the product team and own the intersection of product requirements, hardware specifications, and go-to-market configuration strategy. This is a role for someone who is genuinely comfortable going deep on technical content — reading through standards documents, interrogating engineering tradeoffs, and translating them into clear, actionable product requirements — while also thinking at the level of market positioning and product offering strategy.
You'll work closely with our engineering, commercial, and operations teams to define what we build and how we package it. You won't be managing external customer relationships day-to-day, but your decisions will directly shape what customers experience: what configurations are available, what certifications we hold, our strategy around power conversion and software, and how our product competes on technical merit in the markets we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Requirements Definition
- Own and maintain detailed product requirements documents (PRDs) covering hardware specifications, electrical and mechanical configurations, construction and installation requirements, and operational capabilities
- Define requirements across energy and power dimensions — including power constraints, round-trip efficiency, auxiliary load budgets, and thermal operating envelopes
- Translate market, regulatory, and customer input into clear engineering requirements and acceptance criteria
- Track and maintain Peak's certification and compliance roadmap across relevant standards (e.g., UL 9540, IEC 62933, IEEE 693, NEC Article 706)
- Work with engineering to evaluate tradeoffs in hardware design decisions and ensure requirements reflect real-world deployment constraints
Product Offering Strategy
- Define and maintain Peak's inverter compatibility matrix — identifying target integration partners, characterizing interface requirements (communication protocols, control modes, grid-forming capability), and driving qualification processes
- Help shape Peak's EMS offering strategy — defining integration requirements, characterizing how EMS capabilities should be packaged and positioned, and ensuring our product works seamlessly within customers' control environments
- Contribute to competitive analysis of BESS products, focusing on technical differentiation: system architecture, performance specifications, integration flexibility, and certification status
- Support product roadmap planning with well-reasoned recommendations grounded in technical and market analysis
- Work across teams to ensure product configuration options are well-documented, manufacturable, and commercially coherent
- Contribute to the development of Peak's long-term service agreement (LTSA) and service contract strategy — including what commitments we make on performance, availability, and maintenance, and how service offerings are structured and priced
Required Qualifications

Qualifications

Peak Energy is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team and work on the development of our gigawatt-scale sodium ion energy storage system.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement real-time, C++, RTOS-based firmware targeting microcontrollers.
- Understand, code, and use microcontroller hardware to meet functional safety requirements.
- Create firmware for embedded prototypes to validate hardware design choices and accelerate firmware development.
- Verify and support the integration of your code.
- Assist with the definition of requirements.
- Support products deployed to the field.
- Participate in hardware and software design reviews.
- Adhere to modern disciplined development practices such as Clang-based linting, consistent formatting, thoughtful naming, and clear commenting.
Qualifications:
- Have shipped at least one commercial or industrial hardware product.
- A degree in science, engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
- Experience writing firmware for real-time embedded systems.
- Experience designing complex software that coordinates several disparate functions.
- Experience using Linux as a development environment and test platform.
- Experience configuring build tools such as CMake/Make.
- A preference for using a debugger to understand the behavior of code at runtime.
- An understanding of when to reach for an oscilloscope or other test equipment to verify your work.

About The Role - Supplier Industrialization Engineer - ESS
The ESS SCM Team is seeking a Supplier Industrialization Engineer to drive the readiness, ramp, and ongoing performance of key manufacturing partners and component suppliers for ESS. This role will be instrumental in ensuring that critical suppliers can meet our technical, quality, and delivery requirements as we scale production of our next-generation energy storage systems.
You’ll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management teams to qualify new suppliers, develop scalable production processes, and troubleshoot issues in real time. This is a high-impact role at the center of building a reliable, world-class hardware supply chain.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Lead scoping, development and qualification of new suppliers through quality management system assessments and audits.
- Partner with product design, manufacturing engineering and supplier teams to ensure DfX (Design for X) feedback is incorporated early into product and process design.
- Own supplier readiness milestones as part of NPI and production ramp plans.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop and validate manufacturing processes, production lines, test procedures, and in-line quality controls.

What You'll Bring To The Table (Qualifications)

- 5+ years of experience in supplier industrialization, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience ramping production of complex electromechanical products, preferably in energy, automotive, aerospace, or contract manufacturing environments
- Proficiency in 3D CAD Software (preferably CATIA) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

What You'll Bring To The Table (Qualifications)
- 5+ years of experience in global supply chain management, strategic sourcing, or commodity management — preferably in the Automotive, Energy Storage, or Consumer Electronics Industries.
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following concentrations: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain OR demonstrated excellence in global supply chain management, strategic sourcing or commodity management.

About the Job
As a Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the technical and engineering aspects of Peak’s projects. You’ll design site layouts, engage with EPCs, and ensure projects are technically sound, cost-effective, and optimized for execution. This is a highly cross-functional role — you’ll work side by side with Project Managers, Finance, and our internal cell and ESS engineering teams to drive projects from concept to commissioning
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the customer-facing, technical arm of sales and execution, acting as the bridge between Peak’s engineering teams and external stakeholders translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for customers.
- Create and optimize site layouts, electrical designs, and conceptual engineering packages for utility-scale storage projects.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Shift Lead to oversee day-to-day production activities for our Energy Storage Systems. This role is responsible for coordinating technicians on shift, ensuring manufacturing processes are followed, and delivering safe, high-quality output in line with production plans.
The Shift Lead is a working leader. They will be visible on the floor, hands-on when needed, and accountable for execution. You will allocate labor and resources, track plan versus actual performance, and act as the first level of escalation for quality, safety, and throughput issues. This role is critical as Peak Energy scales from pilot builds into repeatable, scaled ESS manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Shift Leadership & Resource Allocation
- Lead and coordinate technicians during assigned shifts to meet production goals.
- Assign work, balance labor, and adjust resources in real time based on priorities and constraints.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for shift execution and issue escalation.
- Support technician onboarding, training, and adherence to standard work.
Manufacturing Execution & Process Compliance
- Ensure manufacturing processes, work instructions, and safety procedures are followed.
- Verify readiness at shift start (materials, tools, staffing, documentation).
- Identify deviations from standard work and take immediate corrective action to track and correct.
- Support process changes and controlled rollouts in collaboration with Engineering and Quality.

Position Overview
The Manufacturing Technician at Peak Energy is a versatile role responsible for executing daily production activities while partnering closely with engineering to improve processes, quality, and efficiency. This role is directly accountable for meeting production schedules, ensuring product quality, and supporting continuous improvement to align actual output with demand requirements across NPI and Production Builds.
Key Responsibilities
Production Execution & Accountability
- Meet daily/weekly production plan targets and track actual performance against plan.
- Ensure production output meets demand schedules, both in volume and timing.
- Take ownership of first-pass yield, scrap, and rework rates to maintain quality performance.
Quality & Compliance
- Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify product quality against specifications.

Engineering & Process Support
- Provide structured feedback to engineering teams on design, assembly methods, and process performance.

Continuous Improvement

About the Job
We're looking for a VP of Sales to lead our commercial organization and drive revenue growth as we scale our Sodium-Ion battery systems across North America. This executive will own the full sales strategy, team development, and execution needed to establish Peak Energy as the leading provider of cost-effective, safe energy storage solutions.
This is a transformational leadership role for a proven sales executive who has built and scaled high-performing teams in complex B2B markets. You'll define our go-to-market approach, forge strategic partnerships with utilities and renewable developers, and build the commercial infrastructure to support hundreds of megawatts of deployments.
You'll work directly with our CSO and cross-functional leaders to shape company strategy, own revenue targets, and build lasting customer relationships that drive the clean energy transition.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate relationships with developers, utilities, IPPs, EPCs, and corporate energy buyers
- Establish and manage the full sales process from lead generation through contract negotiation and close for utility-scale and C&I energy storage projects
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategy to achieve aggressive revenue targets and market share goals in the energy storage sector
- Own sales forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue reporting with rigorous accountability and transparency
- Drive pricing strategy and contract negotiations for complex, multi-year energy storage agreements
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to translate customer needs into product roadmap priorities and competitive positioning
- Build strategic channel partnerships and alliances to expand market reach and accelerate growth
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience with at least 5 years in an executive sales role (VP, SVP, or Chief Revenue Officer) — ideally in energy storage, grid infrastructure, or renewable project development
- Deep experience selling complex, capital-intensive solutions in energy storage, renewable energy, cleantech, or adjacent infrastructure markets
- Capable of engaging, on a peer-to-peer basis, with the highest levels of executives at target key accounts
- Experience managing complex contract negotiations and navigating procurement processes with utilities and large enterprises
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to articulate complex technical value propositions
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to meet with customers and attend industry events
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience selling energy storage systems (ESS), grid-connected assets, or utility-scale hardware solutions
- Experience scaling sales from early-stage through growth stage in venture-backed cleantech or energy companies
- Existing relationships with key decision-makers at major utilities, renewable developers, or energy storage buyers
- Track record of successfully launching new products or entering new markets
- Understanding of energy storage economics, incentive programs (ITC, IRA), and project finance structures
- Experience working with or selling to regional ISOs, RTOs, and grid operators
- Knowledge of battery technology, grid modernization, and renewable integration challenges
- Prior experience at high-growth companies that achieved successful exit or significant scale
The salary range for this role is $250,000 – $325,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. About the Job:
We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to support test, validation, and prototyping activities across our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) development lifecycle. You will work closely with Test Engineers, Design & Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations to execute tests, assemble fixtures, collect and analyze data, and help improve processes that bring battery and power electronics systems from concept to production. This role blends hands-on test execution with engineering support, ideal for someone with solid mechanical/electrical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.
Responsibilities:
Test Execution & Validation Support
- Execute lab and field tests on components, subsystems, and full battery systems -- including electrical, mechanical, and environmental stress tests.
- Build and assemble test fixtures, prototypes, harnesses, and instrumentation setups.
- Instrument products and systems for data collection; operate test equipment safely and accurately.
- Collect, organize, and archive test data and records for engineering review.
Engineering Collaboration & Support
- Work with engineers to refine test plans, troubleshoot failures, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide structured feedback on design, assembly, and test processes to improve product quality and yield.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) builds, pilot runs, and process documentation.
Quality, Documentation & Safety
- Perform in-process and final inspections to verify compliance with specifications.

- Adhere to safety protocols, maintain organized workspaces, and proactively flag hazards.
