To accomplish our mission, we are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Director of Product Marketing comfortable in the startup, biotech environment to own and execute strategic and tactical product marketing. The role is ideal for someone who takes pride in launching new, innovative diagnostic products and driving market growth and expansion. You will be responsible for leading product marketing while owning product launch, defining product vision, working closely with Sales and supporting revenue growth and customer satisfaction. This role is for you if you enjoy the process of fostering a new paradigm in infectious disease diagnostics.  

How You Will Contribute  

Immediate Priorities: 

• Own the launch of Pattern’s Pneumonia ID/AST solution, including positioning, messaging, sales training and tools, pricing and other launch related deliverables 

• Support the sales organization and customers by providing technical information about products, technology, or other issues requiring marketing input or assistance 

• Serve as the company expert with respect to disease state, standard of care, clinical and economic data, competition, and market access. Ensure routine and real-time communication of updates to the field, senior management and customer support organizations. 

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with KOLs, corporate partners and VIP customers that will drive platform adoption and endorsements 

• Responsible for lifecycle management for product lines including tracking success and managing resolution of issues 

• Lead the development of the marketing department and manage direct reports  

• Support the product development organization by representing the voice of the customer throughout the entire life cycle of the system

• Create strategic and tactical marketing plans to drive growth for existing and new lines of business 

• Perform market research and gather customer feedback in order to define, prioritize and develop corresponding justifications for market requirements of new products

• Experience in infectious disease diagnostics and launching new, innovative products highly preferred 

• Thorough knowledge of US Hospital Diagnostic Lab customer profile and purchasing process 

• Experience with US market access, clinical outcome and economic business case marketing is a plus 

• Experience in and comfort with pre-revenue startups is a plus

Senior Scientist, Assay Research 

At Pattern Bioscience, we’re tackling antibiotic resistance, one of the biggest public health challenges of our time. Our platform combines machine learning with single‑cell digitization to identify pathogens and predict drug responses in hours instead of days. Unlike traditional molecular diagnostics (PCR/NGS) that rely on detecting genetic signatures, we build live‑cell, direct‑from‑specimen biochemical assays on our proprietary microfluidic platform. 

We’re looking for an experienced Assay Research Scientist to help shape the next generation of our diagnostic capabilities. This is a hands-on role with a balanced focus, split approximately 50% between wet-lab bench work and 50% toward design, analysis and strategic collaboration. In this role, you’ll collaborate across disciplines while driving the scientific vision behind innovative, high‑impact technology. 

How You Will Contribute 

• Architect & Execute Novel Assays at the Bench: Lead the hands-on creation of biochemical assays, focusing on single-cell metabolic activity and phenotypic responses within picoliter-scale environments. 

• Engineer Stable Chemistries for Raw Samples: Create robust sample-prep and assay chemistries designed to maintain high signal-to-noise and assay stability when working directly with unrefined, high-interference clinical samples.

• Translate Inventions into Patentable Products: Identify and mature novel assay concepts and chemistries that are both patentable and scalable, collaborating closely with engineering to move bench-top breakthroughs into production-ready solutions.

• Turn Single-Cell Data into Biological Insight: Apply deep data analysis to characterize single-cell behavior, providing the high-quality datasets that power our machine-learning models for rapid pathogen ID and drug susceptibility testing.

Senior Software Engineer — C++ Austin, TX — In-Person

Antibiotic resistance kills more people each year than HIV and malaria combined. Combining single-cell analysis with machine learning, Pattern Bioscience is building the first “culture-free” diagnostic systems in the industry that can identify bacterial infections and determine which antibiotics will work in hours instead of days. The system software is core to the product.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own and advance that software. The codebase has history; part of the job is understanding it well enough to extend it without breaking things that matter. You'll work across a multidisciplinary team consisting of firmware engineers, data scientists, and biologists, operating at the intersection of software and physical systems.

You should apply if you:

· Are an expert in C++ and fluent enough in Python to work across the stack

· Have experience exposing C++ APIs to other languages

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior Accountant comfortable in the startup, biotech environment to own and execute accounting operations as the primary hands-on accountant and continue scaling the financial infrastructure needed to support our growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys and takes pride in the craft of accounting but is ready for more ownership and variety than their current role offers. You will be responsible for leading and streamlining our core accounting operations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Initially, this role will focus on hands-on accounting functions, especially the monthly close and key compliance activities. As the company grows, there will be opportunities to expand the scope of responsibility. This role is for you if you enjoy building processes, have a strong understanding of the application of finance and accounting principles in a startup, medical device environment, and are passionate about helping startups grow.

How You Will Contribute

Immediate Priorities:

• Own the company’s accounting operations, including general ledger management, contractor-supported AP/AR, and tax filings
• Complete the monthly close process, performing the hands-on accounting to ensure timely and accurate financial statements and internal reports
• Drive the design and implementation of future-state accounting processes and systems (e.g., cost accounting, ERP improvements, commercialization readiness)
• Implement and maintain internal controls and financial systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other regulations
• Tax compliance ownership: ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements
• Proactively research and resolve accounting discrepancies or anomalies to ensure accurate financials
• Manage relationships with external auditors and enable a smooth audit process
