Pantheon brings together exceptional builders who take ownership, drive meaningful impact, and shape what's next for the web. We power more than 300,000 websites globally for organizations including Google, Princeton, Salesloft, Clorox, and the United Nations. Every day, thousands of developers and marketers use our WebOps platform to build, iterate, and scale WordPress, Drupal, and Next.js sites that reach billions of people worldwide. Here, you take ownership of work that matters, contribute alongside exceptional people, and see the impact you create.
Pantheon is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our Internal Platform team — the group responsible for the tools, platforms, and practices that make Pantheon’s own engineers more effective. You’ll shape how engineers across the company write, test, deploy, and operate software: from CI/CD pipelines and internal developer portals to AI-assisted workflows, developer productivity metrics, and self-service tooling.
We’re looking for someone who has built internal developer platforms or developer experience programs at scale — at a software company, developer tools company, or platform engineering team — and who brings AI-native instincts to the work. At Pantheon, AI isn’t a feature we’re adding — it’s how we work. You’ll bring the same rigor to our internal engineering systems that we bring to the platform we sell, and you’ll be a force multiplier across every engineering team.
We have all the usual perks and benefits but what we can really offer you is a fantastic work environment powered by an amazing team.

Pantheon is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our Hosting Platform — the team responsible for the infrastructure powering 700,000+ websites and 17 billion monthly page views. You’ll work at the core of what makes Pantheon run: the systems that provision, serve, and scale sites across our Global CDN, Google Cloud infrastructure, and developer toolchain.
We're looking for someone who has built or operated infrastructure at scale — at a CDN or edge provider, a developer platform, or a database-as-a-service company — and who brings AI-native instincts to the work: using AI tools to accelerate debugging, automate toil, and make better architectural decisions faster. At Pantheon, AI isn't a feature we're adding — it's how we work. You'll partner across Engineering, Product, and Security to shape the future of our platform, and make decisions that affect how hundreds of thousands of sites are built, deployed, and delivered every day.

Pantheon is building the next generation of web content infrastructure — a real-time, collaborative platform that redefines how teams create, publish, and manage content on the modern web. Content management has been largely unchanged for two decades. Pantheon is uniquely positioned — with deep roots in the web platform, a global CDN, and a sophisticated branching model trusted by thousands of organizations — to build the collaborative content experience the modern web deserves.
This is a rare opportunity to join a founding-stage product team at a company with real infrastructure and real distribution behind it. The architecture is being defined now. The decisions made in the next few months will shape how developers and content teams experience the web for years to come.
As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will be a technical anchor and a hands-on builder. You will own significant pieces of the platform end-to-end — from API design and backend services to frontend systems and browser-side experiences. You will partner closely with the Staff Engineer and Director of Engineering to make architectural decisions, set quality standards, and accelerate the team toward meaningful milestones.
This role requires both breadth and depth. You are comfortable owning a problem from design through delivery, writing the code and the tests, and helping less experienced engineers do the same. You understand that great infrastructure and great product experience are not in tension — they are the same problem viewed from different angles.
We have all the usual perks and benefits but what we can really offer you is a fantastic work environment powered by an amazing team.

Pantheon is building the next generation of web content infrastructure — a real-time, collaborative platform that redefines how teams create, publish, and manage content on the modern web. Content management has been largely unchanged for two decades. We are changing that.
As a Software Engineer II on this team, you will be an early engineer on a founding-stage product with real momentum behind it. You will build features end-to-end, contribute to architectural decisions, and work alongside a small, senior team that moves fast and cares deeply about craft. This is not a role where you wait for tickets — it is a role where you help define what gets built and how.
You will work across the full stack — backend services, APIs, and frontend systems — building the core capabilities of a real-time collaborative content platform. You will work closely with a small team of engineers, as well as product and design partners, to ship features that developers and content teams rely on every day.
This team is early-stage by design. The product is being defined as it is built, and every engineer on the team has a meaningful voice in that process. If you are energized by that kind of environment, this is the right place.
We have all the usual perks and benefits but what we can really offer you is a fantastic work environment powered by an amazing team.

This is a rare chance to be at the ground floor of something genuinely new. Pantheon is building the next generation of web content infrastructure: a real-time, collaborative platform that redefines how teams create, publish, and manage content on the modern web.
This is a zero-to-one role. The product is early, the architecture is being defined, and the decisions you make will shape how thousands of developers and content teams experience the web for years to come. You will not be maintaining legacy systems or iterating on feature #1001. You will be inventing the foundational layer of a new product category: one that sits at the intersection of developer tooling, visual editing, and cloud-native content infrastructure.
Content management has been largely unchanged for two decades. CMSes were built for an era of documents and databases, not for the speed, collaboration expectations, or deployment patterns of today's web. Pantheon is uniquely positioned — with deep roots in the web platform, a global CDN, and a sophisticated branching platform already trusted by thousands of organizations — to build the content management experience that the modern web actually deserves.
If you've ever wanted to work on a problem that is technically hard, commercially meaningful, and genuinely unsolved, this is it.
As a Staff Engineer on this team, you will be a technical leader and hands-on builder in equal measure. You will work across the full stack — from the APIs and real-time synchronization services that power the platform's backend, to the visual editing interfaces and component systems that content teams interact with every day. You will partner closely with product and design to shape the architecture, make build-vs-buy decisions, define engineering standards, and accelerate a small, focused team toward meaningful milestones.
This role requires both breadth and depth. You are equally comfortable reasoning about distributed state management and crafting a delightful, low-latency editing experience in the browser. You understand that great infrastructure and great product experience are not in tension — they are the same problem viewed from different angles.
We have all the usual perks and benefits but what we can really offer you is a fantastic work environment powered by an amazing team.
